That camp members search for you if you have been away from camp for a "long" time. Happened to me today ... suddenly Bill appeared behind me and talked to me they were worried because I haven't shown up in camp for quite some time. Then he asked me if I wanted to go back to camp with him. First time this encounter happened and I was in awe tbh. But could also be related to the story part where I am atm.

Apparently the game will make sure you don’t miss Sean’s party.

I did Reverend Swanson’s mission on the way back to camp, after getting Sean, so being back at camp after the mission was over it didn’t trigger. Right after I went out with Hosea to hunt the bear. Left camp, and when I came back it gave me a time transition.

I thought I had somehow accidentally lured an enemy to camp, but instead Arthur was by the hitches, it was evening, and Dutch walked over to tell Arthur they were having a party.

This usually happens when there's a important mission back in camp, but you're not forced to accept the ride back home, and if you do, you're not forced to do the mission either, this happens commonly for me before "Our Best Selves/Red Dead Redemption" when I'm just playing as sick Arthur.

I haven’t really looked into this much, but it seems that NPCs of the same race seem to hang out together. Usually, multiple Mexican NPCs hang out in groups with each other. I could be wrong about this though.

Hmm, yes. Odd how that works out. Kind of like real life. Birds of a feather flock together. :/

Just now I found something really interesting in RDR2, the Californian Horned Owl has a very rare chance of spawning on Fort Riggs in Big Valley, I say very rare because this is the first time I see this happening in more than 3 years playing it and also the first time I managed to complete this bird compedium as Arthur without having to use out of bounds glitches.

Where the red cursor is point at is more or less the location I found it taking off from the ground, it was between 05:00 and 06:00 in the morning:

mRNrkta.png

And here is Arthur holding it as a proof (ignore the pesky bounty hunters tracking me):

meUj1JG.png

So this confirms that some New Austin animals have a very rare chance of spawning in West Elizabeth, hopefully we can find spawn points for the Rio Grande Wild Turkey and the Armadillo as well lol.

Good find. Did you saw where it came? There is a chance for it flew from tall trees

Yes, it spawned on the ground right next to Fort Riggs' surrounding walls, nowhere close to Tall Trees.

I'll have to check out that spot for a Cali. The only place I know it can be found north of the Upper Montana is if it spawns flying over Beecher's and continues northeast to Lone Mule. I've heard of people getting Californians at Bear Claw in Tall Trees, but I've only seen Great and Coastals in all of Tall Trees.

Did you just get to Riggs shortly before seeing it? Only reason I ask is because sometimes in-flight owls will randomly land. If you were around there for a while, it could have been a Cali from north of Blackwater.

I just got there, I wasn't hanging around Fort Riggs, it definitely spawned there.

Few hours on now and still haven't seen a Cali static at Riggs. Seen two flying from Blackwater towards Lone Mule, but not even landing at or near Riggs. I'll keep passing by, though. Still keeping it in the time frame you noted as 05:00-06:00.

As for the other animals, farthest east I've seen Armadillos are north of Macfarlane's on the west side of the Lower Montana. Gila monsters are super localized and I've not seen a single condor east of the west edge of Hennigan's Stead. Same goes for the Baja/Sonoran pronghorns, desert iguana, etc. Only time I have seen a desert ram east of Hennigan's is the spawn near the first 'E' in "TALL TREES". Usually it's either Rocky or Sierra rams there, but I've killed and skinned a desert ram twice over there.

For other New Austin animals you better just use this method as Arthur:

I never managed to find frogs/toads with this method though, I think they only spawn by a river or something similar, you better complete their compedium during "Angelo Bronte, A Man of Honor". As for the owl, it's like I said, it's the first time I see this happen in more than 3 years playing RDR2, plus there's the chance of spawning other birds such as the Coastal and the Great Horned Owls.

Ah, the good old OOB warp via blackout. I've tried to warp OOB up in Ambarino to get the immobile moose east of Calumet, but haven't found any spots that have enough flat surface hanging overhead to wake up on them.

For the Sonoran toad, I don't think it spawns on the Mexico shoreline of the San Luis. There are spawns of other things on the Mexico side, even a cougar farther east heading towards Saint Denis iirc, but I have gotten the Gila, Cali Owl, Desert Iguana, Condor, Peccary, both Pronghorns, Desert Ram, and Rio Turkey all OOB on the north side of New Austin (traveling there after warping OOB in the Devil's Cave).

You can't go near San Luis River with Arthur when you're in Nuevo Paraíso though, it will activate New Austin's invisible sniper, so the only way to get the toad is during Angelo Bronte's mission on the current version, you can get every other animal north of New Austin though. I'll do the oob glitch this week to paint that damn area north of Tempest Rim on the map, those areas you can't paint normally drives me crazy, that river up the Roanoke Ridge waterfall and the entire Lannahechee River too.

Forgive my ignorance of the inability to disable the sniper. Last time I played legitimately was on X1X something like a year ago. Been used to just disabling the New Austin and Guarma snipers via Rampage. Not to mention removing fog of war. However, I have had near success with the OOB glitch blacking out in several spots. Just gotta find a decent flat cliff to warp to...

Also... the Bronte mission glitch works again? You mention in the current version (now 31), that's why I ask.

---

I know this is also well-established, but I have still yet to figure out a way to retain the purple coloring of the Scarecrow Sombrero outside of Rampage. I think it's just a hardcoded texture set after you obtain it.

Bounties can be found wandering around the town you delivered them to. I ran across Robbie Laidlaw in Rhodes after turning him in during Chapter 3. His dialog does appear in subtitles (if enabled). Saw "well, if it isn't me favorite bounty hunter" on the subtitle bar and found him walking around the gallow at Rhodes. Also recall running across another bounty in Strawberry. Can't recall who it was, but they were riding passenger on a stage.

It is possible to glitch the Wild Man's Journal and make it unattainable. I did this by accident recently. Looked like an animation chop. Maybe something was in the way, idk. Arthur reached down to grab it, then halfway through reaching just reset back to normal standing and the book was no longer highlighted even in Eagle Eye. Beware, lol.

It's better to just use Big Valley's cave everytime, it isn't really worth trying other spots to black out, as Arthur at least.

I mean during the mission, get spotted by the cops in the cemetery to trigger the glitch and then go to New Austin with John.

The Cali does spawn near Fort Riggs. I was looking away from the screen when it flew by, so I don't know exactly where it came from. But it's there. Guess it's now Lone Mule and Fort Riggs for Arthur's cali feathers.

So what do you guys prefer to hunt it down? Looking air and waiting for the same spot in the sniping position?

What would I do? In previous runs, I hitched my horse atop the hill just east of Fort Riggs, cover-scented up, and crouch trotted along the Upper Montana River. There's a flying spawn (mobile) over the Upper Montana which usually spawns either Great or Cali. (Rarely Coastal from my experience.)

Hard to argue any "best" way for a pre-Epilogue Cali. That stretch is essentially the only place north of the Upper Montana I've ever found one. Read some forum posts in the past of folks finding them around Canebreak, but I've still yet to find a single Cali anywhere other than the Upper Montana (in terms of pre-Epilogue, of course). My usual go-to has been ride to Lone Mule to just sit and wait for the Cali to fly there from Blackwater. But, if we're disregarding the chance side of things, the spot at Fort Riggs which Edward posted seems to be the most immediate. Even opposed to the countless times I've spent the better part of 30 IRL minutes at Lone Mule, I rode from Strawberry to Fort Riggs six times. On the sixth time, I just went into auto cinematic camera and, low and behold, that Cali flew in front of me.

I'll continue to test around the Upper Montana since I'm now doing my third OCD run. For the better part of a year, I've known the mobile spawn north of Blackwater sometimes flies over Lone Mule. It's been fairly reliable. The flying spawn over the Upper Montana has proven to be mostly Great Horned. But, now having seen that Cali at Fort Riggs, I reckon Edward might be onto something. Like

You can find Martha's love interest, Garfield, bayoneted to a tree northwest of Abandoned Church at Bolger Glade. Amazing how having played a few thousand hours in this game since 2020, how many time I must have rode past that guy...

Light tan whitetail bucks never give three star pelts.

Some collectible in-world documents appear to turn into an "Envelope" after having such a full satchel. I went to collect the newspaper scrap from Old Harry Fen, only to find some "Envelope" sitting on the table where the newspaper scrap is supposed to be. After a bit of research, evidently this doesn't happen to a whole lot of people. Not sure how I'm gonna go about working around it, though. Having collected a ton of documents with the photo mode glitch already, I hope I haven't screwed myself out of that one single newspaper scrap. I've gone back to the house three times and on each trip return to the same "Envelope" sitting on the table. Shows up as not collectible after I got it the first time. Saw the "added to inventory" sidebar thing, but checking around all of my document subcategories there doesn't appear to be an "Envelope" anywhere, nor do I have the newspaper scrap that was meant to be there in the first place.

Stagecoach is the fastest form of fast travel. Train is a bit slower than stage, but still largely faster than regular "fast travel" (from campfire). Lots of times I just ride to the nearest stagecoach point and go from there. It's often costly, but a ton faster than even taking a train to the same place.

I think the best method for a pre-epilogue Cali is just going to the oob area north of New Austin and waiting until it's dark, eventually one will fly by and you'll also get condors really easy this way, but for those who don't like glitching at all, this is the only spot I ever found one in the new RDR2 map, I didn't even know about the one flying from Blackwater to Lone Mule Stead until you mentioned it last week.

Skimming along the north side of Cholla Springs has proven to be fairly consistent as far as OOB is concerned. Same goes for a few other animals in that area. The baja/sonoran pronghorns, desert rams, gila monster, desert iguana, armadillo, condor, etc. But, traveling there from the Devil's Cave is one hell of a trek. For specifically the Cali owl, I'd say running up and down the Upper Montana River is the most readily available. Given, there is also a cali owl icon west of Strawberry. Not sure if it's meant to be all the way that far north, but it's there nonetheless. Take it with a grain of salt, though. There's also a desert ram icon on the western end of Little Creek River, as well as an armadillo icon near Caliga Hall.

OOB is much more reliable for New Austin animals in general. That, I agree with. Only real issue I have with OOB is the travel time. IIRC it took me 15 minutes just to get from above the Devil's Cave all the way to north OOB out of Cholla.

The desert bighorn ram icon in Big Valley must be a mistake, but a Armadillo in Caliga Hall sounds interesting, maybe there's a chance to find it in the tobacco fields?

@subvod I just found another Californian Horned Owl flying over Fort Riggs exactly at midnight, so I think we have at least between 00:00 and 06:00 to find them.

Good deal. I've still found just the one around 04:00, but we'll see. As for the armadillo, who knows? There's tons of small animal spawns around that same area. Idk so much of in the tobacco rows themsevles, but if anything maybe there's spawns that are nighttime only. I've spent the least time in Scarlett Meadows amongst all other counties on the map, so there's bound to be more things I don't know about. (Just like Garfield bayoneted to that tree.)

People don't usually research Caliga Hall too much because it's a sort of restricted area, just like Braithwaite Manor, so maybe you can find it there, I don't know...

Idk. Kind of feels needless right now. IIRC, the only map editor which supports all of RDR2 is the script mod released some time ago now. Until then, given I'm doing my new 100% run for NexusMods, me exploring Caliga will have to wait.

Thanks to this forum went and found Marthas Garfield in Bolger glade

The level of detail is amazing in this game, it really is superb if you buy into the experience
