There is this big tree on a hill you can see from all across the Heartlands, and on that tree are bunch of bottles hanging, and inside one of those bottles is a gold nugget. I just happened to use Eagle Eye, and noticed one of the bottles was glowing gold.  Pretty neat.

Is that the same tree with the Ginseng health upgrade too?

Probably,  you dont exactly see too many trees with bottles hanging from em.

So far I've had Dutch and John comment on my Classic Raccoon Mountain Hat. Dutch told me it was "very becoming," and John just commented, "New hat?"

If you are in a building and see black room on your minimap it means you can't enter it.

Never knew that there is a spawn point for a skinner brothers gang at Aurora Basin.

The mission where John and Arthur seize Shady Belle can play out rather cinematically with most of the enemies having pretty unique encounters and dialog (like  the man throwing  a jammed gun. Or  Arthur being challenged to a knife fight upstairs.)  if you play it slowly as opposed to “run and gun”  I played this mission countless times before I noticed any of this... now it’s one of my favorites.

When you buy a ticket in theatre you can actually go to the left and enjoy the show from above! I found it out yesterday by myself :]

That's why I hate Gold Medals Objectives, instead of enjoying all the extra stuff freely, I can't not rush through the missions to complete them. I hope the next Rockstar game, be it GTA 6, Bully 2 or whatever, drops this idea of Gold Medals once and for all.

Here’s one for the frugal folks! I’m sure there is a few people who don’t know about it.

While I knew since day one that bullet penetration existed in the form of entry and exit wounds, (sometimes rather large ones.) I did not know until recently that it’s also possible to hit two people with the same bullet (even from smaller weapons like revolvers.)

two birds one stone anyone?

Access to Guarma is possible before starting anything in Ch 2.

If you get drunk deep in the western-most cave, you’ll spawn up top, then you can tame a horse just south of that location, outside of the map. If you make your way to the most southwestern part of the entire map, then cross the bottom of the river there, you then will start making your way up the eastern bank. About 50-100 yards after the water turns blue on your map again, going northbound, you’ll see a backbone of the largest mountain set of the southern landscape that you can transverse east. Riding eastbound, you’ll eventually see the guarma map open up. Immediately go north, until you clear the western part of the sea, then go eastbound until you are on top of the northern most land mass of Guarma. Through both of these steps, you’re avoiding being over the sea. Once you’re on top of the northern most land mass of Guarma, go south until you drop into Guarma. The drop isn’t bad. I needn’t even revive my horse.

In Guarma, there is no bounty, no sniper, and the guards are friendly. Only unless you do something stupid (I accidentally ran over a fieldworker with my horse), or you hit a random encounter (they screamed (paraphrasing) “there’s one of the white men” and tried to shoot me), everyone is peaceful. If you save or die, you’re still in Guarma.

Pretty cool stuff. It’s almost like a throwback to us investigating the “blue hell” days of GTA3 to me, which was a lot of fun in its own right. Leaving a way out by overlapping the north side maps was solid.

Anyway, so just a heads up that Guarma is accessible before missions, as I’ve not started Ch 2 yet.

Thats awesome if so. I had to do the "Bronte glitch" to explore Guarma in chapter 5. Will likely try this tonight on 1.00. How long did it take you to make the trip? And do we have to go back to same way?

Seems there's two different sex "scenes" with Karen and Sean at the party. The one where Sean seems to be having a lot of fun and Karen sounds awkward, and a completely different one I just heard where it's Karen who is having all the fun and being rather chauvinistic while Sean is just trying to keep up.

Was reading rdr 2wiki and found this info:

The more each weapon is used, the higher the familiarity will be. Higher familiarity will increase the weapon's range, reload speed, and accuracy.

I had no idea! :p

Literally just discovered this like a half hour ago.

Arthur will “talk” with hiding enemies/ victims.

hundreds of hours in SP never seen this. But I usually loose sight of fleeing/hiding enemies. The AI is too good sometimes. ;)

Ironically I was too close to camp and with Sadie on guard duty, she hit him from the back. So I guess he did find “a skirt to hide under.” It was just the wrong one :p

I was wondering what the hell that "Favorite Weapon Ranking" in the compendium meant, and also why my guns didn't ever appear to have max stats even when clean. Makes sense.

You can stack a number of wolf pelts on the back of your horse ... and you can actually see that they are stacked (as opposed to them all just "disappearing" into each other). Not only that, but you can then stick another animal on the back of your horse above the pelts. And not only THAT, but if you've already put an animal carcass over the top of the pelts and then want to stick another pelt on there ... it does a DIFFERENT ANIMATION where Arthur actually tucks the new pelt between the existing pelts and the carcass. My jaw literally dropped when I saw that. It wasn't even the fact that Rockstar thought about it ... as much as it was the fact that once they thought about it they felt that they needed to make it happen for the rare event when the player would try to do that.

Don't forget you can also put 2x medium animals on your horse (one on each side), speaking of sides....

Saddle bags can be searched on both sides of a horse.

Also, much of the content people scream for can be found in stranger missions. Rob stage coach, assassinations, coach driver, etc.

Officer Friendly

Things you didn't know about RDR2 until now......lawmen respecting self defense?

I bumped into some dude on the way out of the Rhodes parlor house, a few steps away he gets hostile and whacks me from behind, I proceed to lay the beat down on him with all townsfolk watching in amusement....everyone then goes about their merry way.

The trip took a couple of hours, total. Maybe an hour and a half.

There are two ways of getting back. First is to go where the two maps overlap on the northern-most part of Guarma and get drunk. It’ll spawn you at the top, which will put you back into the normal map. Second is to reset your console or turn it off. That will automatically reset you back into the main map. However, if you save, die, etc, during the the trip you made to Guarma, until you sign out, restart, or turn off your console, it’ll respawn you back in Guarma.

So word of caution... once you turn off your console, you’ll have to repeat the entire trip to get back into Guarma.

This was on 1.01, so I’m sure it’ll be the same for you on 1.00. I’m not aware if the latest patch will allow you to do this or not.

Also if you hogtie NPC's and leave them alive after looting them he'll yell out something along the lines of "I'll leave you to it" or "have fun" as you run off.

Gang members will make comments if you carry a legendary animal into camp and will also say things like "Are you gonna take it to Pearson or what" if you carry it too long in the camp

Never knew this, I usually sold legendary animals to trapper :p

Funny thing about that...it also triggers sometimes after you drop them off a cliff...making Arthur’s one liners even better...

*throws guy off a cliff...

It's interesting the snipers are disabled. I thought they were enabled the whole game but is it possible they are only enabled in Chapter 5, or does using the route you take disable them somehow?

I'm just still anxious for a way to disable to snipers in New Austin before I have to get to chapter 4 and do the "bronte glitch"

I think your first assessment is correct. I believe the snipers are automatically enabled when the storyline takes you there. So if you go there anytime beforehand, my belief is that they will be disabled.

The only time they are enabled in my experience is if you do something nefarious. Otherwise it’s free to explore, including that big building with the ladder into the cellar with the locked gate.

As to your second inquiry, this gentleman has found a way to legitimately go into New Austin. Be sure to watch the video until he goes into the camera settings. That seems key to survival:

I’ve yet to do this as I’m still exploring other things at the mo, but am very much looking forward to applying this method in the future.

I intend to do everything possible before I begin the missions...

Best of luck.

There's a similar one I cam across where Arthur says something about the loser having to jump naked in the river and then "oh, that's right, Martson can't swim". John replies he doesn't plan on losing.

Well I watched Fizhy's videos and have discovered so many new things

  • The Bennet Brothers Treasure
  • You can check out the Chez Porter family early to get additional dialogue
  • The Roanoke Ridge Ghosts actually have a backstory
  • Sherrif Malloy kills Moira
  • Martha Swain's lover can be found at Bolger Blade
  • There's a mass grave with the Blackwater Athletics team
  • There's a "King Hermit" in Roanoake Ridge
  • There a treehouse man in New Austin
  • There's a fortune telling doll called Madam Irene
  • There's a second UFO at Mount Shann

I really encourage everyone to check out this channel. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDTWCHjERGtq7GurZ0RCD4Rq3A-uAMCcH

I'm hunting down every quote from the time R* presented the characters (https://twitter.com/RockstarGames/status/1037671764011245568).

"They're chasing us hard, because we represent everything that they fear." - On the pier, during a dialogue between Dutch and John, either in Chapter 3 or 4.

"I wish I had acquired wisdom at less of a price." - On the campfire.

"You're playing a dangerous game." - Inside Dutch's tent in Clemens Point, during an argument between Molly and Dutch.

"I swear half of you would just rot in your own filth, if nobody kept you in check." - During the mission No, No, and Thrice No, while riding the wagon alongside Grimshaw.

"The people are happy and well fed. I thinks perhaps we'll be ok." - Didn't encounter that one yet.

"I believe there's winners and losers... and nothing else besides." - On the campfire, while Micah and Swanson are discussing religion.

"The amount of hell we've raised, we're owed some back." - Didn't encounter that one yet.

"Don't try anything stupid and we won't do anything unkind." - During the mission An Honest Mistake, while robbing a stagecoach.

"It's a nasty world out there, and it's catching up with us..." - In Beaver Hollow, while Strauss shares his concerns with Grimshaw.

"Guess about all I got left now is doubts. Doubts and scars." - On the campfire.

"If they so much as put one bruise on him I swear, I'll bring the fires of hell on them myself." - In Shady Belle, before completing The Joys of Civilization.

"Did you catch the bad guys?" - During the mission Angelo Bronte, a Man of Honor, on the ride back to Shady Belle.

"Running scams, robbing banks, screwing over the rich and horrible." - In Shady Belle, during a conversation between Karen, Tilly and Mary-Beth.

"If we have to fight, we fight. If we have to run, we'll run. If we must die, we'll die, but... we'll stay free." - While riding alongside Javier during his fishing activity.

"Most of us grew up hungry and scared and alone, one way or another." - On the campfire.

"People call me lazy. I'm not lazy. Just don't like working. There's a difference." - On the campfire, while Bill and Uncle are discussing people calling the former dumb.

"Gentlemen. I think I've got something good." - Outside the general store, during the mission Polite Society, Valentine Style.

"Living free out here, like this... I wouldn't have it any other way." - I'm not sure I encountered that one.

"How can romance ever be silly? It's all we have." - While Trelawny is at camp, performing magic tricks with Karen and Miss Grimshaw.

"I had real suffering and I lost everything, my vocation, my faith, my family..." - On the campfire, while Tilly and the Reverend are discussing the latter's troubles.

"Just leave it to me. I can talk a dog off a meat wagon." - During the mission The Fine Joys of Tobacco, on the ride to Caliga Hall.

"Nobody's taking nothing from me ever again" - During the mission Further Questions of Female Suffrage, on the ride back to camp (before being harassed by Lemoyne Raiders).

"We're thieves, in a world that don't want us no more." - At the start of the mission The New South.
