He couldn't follow you into mexico like a horse can't follow behind you when you get there, I don't think theres any coding there telling tbe NPCs its terrain that can be walked on. I think thats called a navmesh?

Yeah they can freely walk on the beach, but they won't go any further no matter how much i tried to lure him. There's no AI zones in NP so they just deactivate.

Since the corona virus and red dead online being a broken mess, I started playing RDR2 story.  I notice that when at my camp fire in the "wilderness" that I pitch when I back out from crafting or cooking it gives a prompt to fast travel to all major cities...my main camp and even a few small places such as Colter.  Was this added recently?  Or am I just dumb and missed it.

Also, after almost two years, I finally realized that you have the left joystick held down like in the dpad way and not pressed in as when you calm your horse....doh.

Today I was using Eagle eye(at night) in the  Lagra swamp area, and I saw 2 large objects Highlighted high up in the tree,

close inspection identified them as Common Bulrush

thought at first That's a BF-nest

Didn't know you could take the captives in the Saint Denis Fence to the register and give them all the cash

I'm on my second playthrough and am in the Epilogue. I generally hadn't stolen hats off dead gangmembers, but took a sombrero off a dead Lobo.

Later, when I was riding on my horse and hit L3 to bond with a relatively new horse, John Marston said something in SPANISH to her!

I'm flabbergasted by the little things I'm still discovering in this game.

I found an old photo of the gang in pearson's shop in the epilogue. ( I know that you could see it in the end credits but didn't know you could find it in freeroam)

upon closer inspection with the photo mode and removing the blur. you can see John Marston without his signature scar. which is i think the only time we see him without it.

You can buy Kentucky Bourbon and Premium Cigarettes from off of the shelf at the fence in Van Horn

If you wait a few in game days after you get the Reverend back to camp in chapter 2 he'll sober up for a little bit and talk about his addiction

Isn't that the camp fire conversation he has with Tilly? I've seen it before. Usually in Chapter 2 he is either singing merrily drunk or coming up to Arthur thanking him lol.

If you shot the lower part of the bell in bolder gate (idk if it works with others bells) the sounds it makes will be normal bell sound, but if you shot the higher part the sound will only last for 1 second and it will be quieter! I was quite suprised that its this realistic!

Ive seen a couple of conversations where he's sober. Ive seen the Tilly one, also saw him talking to John about it around the fire. He's come up to me piss faced drunk and thanked me before, but this last time he came up to me and thanked me he was sober. The message was still basically the same, "sorry im such a drunk all the time"

Not seen this before but theres an interesting painting in that shack called Scratching Post out in New Austin, seems to be a depiction of Guarma.

jVs1GCh.jpg

Also a bizarre looking tropical plant in front of it as well as an 'Ancient Necklace' you can get from the draw stand to the right.

If you seriously mutilate a deer carcass with like dynamite and blow its legs off, its description in the horse items will be "Ruined Deer Carcass"  rather than poor it will still be treated as a poor carcass though

Detail: If you go into water with your horse and dip his legs so half of your horse is in water and move around you will hear muffled horse steps just like you would in real life :]

Great find. But what made you randomly start blowing deers up with dynamite?

After clearing out the gaptooth ridge gang hideout, I noticed that every person you kill that is inside the mineshaft has a gold nugget if you loot them.

If you hold down the triangle (or Y on xbox) when getting off the horse, Arthur will make the horse stay by putting the bridle into the ground :]

I thought that was a glitch, that explains a lot.

Ok I actually discovered this two years ago, but for those who don't know, the trapper will actually comment on you testing your iron sights near him!

I legit got goosebumps when I heard that.

There is this big tree on a hill you can see from all across the Heartlands, and on that tree are bunch of bottles hanging, and inside one of those bottles is a gold nugget. I just happened to use Eagle Eye, and noticed one of the bottles was glowing gold.  Pretty neat.

So there's this random encounter in Valentine, where I was walking up to the saloon, and suddenly some guy comes flying out of a window, and this other dude comes out after him yelling that hed slept with dudes wife. I hit circle to "intervene" and Arthur made fun of them for fighting over a woman, then dude gets knocked out by the guy who flew through the window, and the guy is like, "Now I'm gonna go sleep with your wife!" and I followed him back into the bar, and picked a fight with him, and now here's the crazy thing, the dude won't go down.

I've been beating his ass for about ten minutes, and I just tried to choke him out and Arthur has just been strangling the life out of this man for over a minute and he still wont die. He just keeps fighting. Just little scrappy lookin red haired dude, its great. I tried using the knife and machete, but this dude is a savage, I even tried to execute him, but it didnt take.

I finally shot him, and he went down.

I recorded this awhile ago but I’ve never shared it here and for some reason @Cutter De Blanc‘s post above reminded me of it.

the sheriffs and deputies will *sometimes* help you out of a gunfight. I loved this when it happened it all felt so genuine.

Unrelated but also NPC’s will  sometimes defend other NPC’s who are unjustly murdered by other NPC’s

One last thing and apologies for the back to back posts but I just found this going through some of my old videos.

and I know it’s worth a share.

the entirety of the dialog with bounty target “Mark Johnson” changes including the conversations with the sheriff if

Spoiler

You murder his wife

Also...has anyone ever mentioned the parallels in Mark Johnson’s story to the story of John Marston? Especially that bit about his farm at the end of the video...

not  to mention their initials are the same but flipped.

M.J.

J.M.

nice nod by rockstar.
