Hmmm Beer

Went to Van Horn and looked at the missing princess poster outside the saloon (without collecting it). Went in and greeted the woman standing near the blackjack table, and Arthur said something like "your face is kind of familiar."

I'm sure I'm the millionth person to have finally spotted this!

In each chapter, in the camp, Dutch physically moves further away from the other members of the gang.

It’s a subtle little visual element that makes the player feel the deterioration of Dutch’s hold on the gang and the alienation from Arthur, before subsequent events make it overt.

Storytelling.

sorry for asking here, but does anyone know of any good spots to rob a train? I mean other than tunnels or the big bridges.

You can get the fishing rod early by killing a fisherman NPC and just picking it up.

Yep, noticed that. Like when chapter 6 starts, he gives a speech from his tent in Beaver Hollow and no one gives a damn at all.

Either catch the train to Annesburg, then stay on it until it sets off and rob it when you cross into the Grizzlies.

Or catch the train to Wallace Station as rob it on arrival as it’s relatively easy to escape the law from there:

You can use stealth to kill most, if not all of the enemies at Hanging Dog Ranch.

You apparently CAN glitch into the Colter cabin in the first mission, or I've read that at least. Unfortunately I've yet to figure out how (and where I first read it was possible didn't divulge) so if anyone could tell me a good method, that would be great. I wanna take some screenies of the gang in the cabin and also wanna see if Javier is anywhere to be seen.

I did find a neat little detail though, and that is that Arthur doesn't talk quite as personal with Taima as he does his own horses. For example, whenever he mounts he will say "Okay" instead of "Okay girl," as he would his own horse. Makes me wonder if he was originally supposed to be able to borrow horses from the others and if that's how he would talk to them.

If you could I would imagine it would only be able to be done with the lantern glitch which is patched now so you’ll need version 1.0.

Is there a way to do the lantern glitch without a gun? Since the mission starts in the Colter camp you can't draw a gun or even jump, though you seem to be able to run kinda fast. A few times I think I was close to getting in, but the closest I managed was to break the barrier in front of the door. Usually there is an invisible barrier in front of the door so you can't even make Arthur slam against it, but I managed to get past that by riding the horse close to it, dismounting and walking forward. After that Arthur is stuck there, only able to slam against the door or stand still unless your horse is nearby and you press the button to mount. Tried to replicate it on the side door but Arthur just keeps walking until he somehow gets out of the barrier area. I also tried getting in through the broken window but that was a no sell, though doing this did help me to finally locate and target Ms. Grimshaw; for anyone curious, she's right next to the door, sitting by Charles.

A couple of times the lantern was going through the door and I went in first person, and for a few moments I could see inside the cabin. It would just show door if I moved the wrong way or stopped moving so I didn't see for longer than a second or two each time. I could see where pretty much everyone was I reckon, but I still have no idea where Javier is in the room and have yet to get a good look at Davey since Bill and Lenny are blocking the way.

If you can get a dead predator you could try the skinning glitch, where you drop it by the door, skin it and when the animation finishes youre in the building. Couldnt ever get it to work myself, but the method was posted in the mapping thread somwhere

Thanks for this! Any idea how reliable this glitch is? Or why it even works? I can't believe it's as easy as dismounting and going into first person as Arthur approaches the door. Also don't see Javier anywhere so I guess he doesn't appear (outside two seconds in the opening cutscene), unless he's sitting in the corner by the door.

On the topic of gang member horses, noticed something kinda neat on my file saved right after "My Last Boy." I was testing to see if I could get more people to come with me via the companion glitch by coming into the camp from an angle that wasn't the front entrance, since usually that way just results in Micah's friends and whoever is standing guard. Ended up getting everyone at one point, by coming in from the right side just above the N on the map. Gonna try it before My Last Boy at some point to see if I can get the whole group plus Charles. I have tried this before with the front entrance way and ended up getting none of them and figured it was because of whatever was in place that made them impossible to interact with at that point, but I'll see if taking this approach yields different results.

Anyways, after one of my attempts went wrong I respawned in camp and all active guns were missing, except for Dutch. I wandered around the camp trying to get them to respawn but they never did, and at some point something possessed me to try getting on one of the unnamed horses Micah's friends ride (since I know you can do that whenever). Instead I got on Boaz, then I decided to try getting on Brown Jack, then Baylock and both times it worked. I tried getting onto The Count but got the usual message, I reckon because Dutch was the only one still hanging around the camp so Arthur felt insecure trying to ride his horse while in view. That or he still has PTSD from the time he was bucked. Anyhow, then I tried Bob and Old Boy and both times that worked just fine. I didn't try calming them while riding to see how Arthur talked to them since I didn't think to, but next time I do this (I'm fairly certain this is reliable since I think I've done this before without realizing the exact method) I'll try to see how he talks to them then.

Nah won't work.

Only way to make a gang horse your main horse and stable it is to mod your save.

There's no direct conversation (at camp or during storyline) between Susan Grimshaw and Hosea Matthews in the entire game.

It happens that characters don't interact with each other at all, but those two, it's odd.

I tried that way back when I was first able to get on their mounts. I tried to put Baylock in the stable, but then it showed Arthur riding him out of there and I got a message something along the lines of "You cannot stable a gang member's mount." I don't explicitly remember doing this, but I think you even get that message if you try to steal one from the companion glitch. Think I read somewhere that you can sell them at the horse fence but I've never tried that myself.

On the companion glitch note, I got a save right up to before "My Last Boy," and yeah you can't get any companions at that time. I tried two or three times to bring an enemy around back and never got a single one, so I guess that whatever is done to lock them in position also prevents the glitch from working at that moment. I noticed that every time, for about a second, four or five ally markers appear on the minimap before promptly disappearing.

Disappointing, but on the other hand I did discover that Micah's friends can also spawn after doing "The Fine Art of Conversation" and "The King's Son," with "Mrs. Sadie Adler, Widow" still available, so there is in fact a way to get them to ride with Charles via this glitch. Not entirely sure of the logic with this, since I previously thought just doing Sadie's mission was enough, but then couldn't get them to spawn until I did both this mission and "The Fine Art of Conversation." Guess it could be doing two of the three. Maybe making it so that only one mission is available after Trelawny and Swanson leave? What's weird is, I swear the first time I played I had those two missions done before Sadie's, but they didn't spawn then, nor did they on my second playthrough when I know Sadie's was the last mission I did before "My Last Boy." Might be possible I missed them that first time but I recall being on the lookout for them during my second run. Could be remembering wrong, could be I overlooked them both times, could be something else I'm overlooking, I don't know, I'm just happy that I now have a file that has all nine of the "active gun" members of chapter 6 in the camp together.

Anyways, no idea if you can get Sadie in a big group at this time; I've noticed that being a mission giver doesn't exclude a character from becoming a companion but does make it a more rare occurrence. The problem with her though isn't that she's a mission giver at this point, it's that she's so far away from the back of the camp, which is the best place to get more than one to three people. I'll try more later on, and just to be sure I'll try bringing some enemies at the front just to make sure she is still "recruitable," so to speak. I think she might be since I've managed to get whoever was standing guard at the time, and they're a bit further away than her. Most likely, it's just a matter of luck and continuing to try until you get her, like it is with Dutch, who seems to be slightly more rare than everyone else regardless of if he's a mission giver or not (at least in Clemens Point and Beaver Hollow).

Reverend Swanson is/was a heroin addict. I just started a new play through and discovered his bible that you can inspect at the Horse Shoe Overlook camp.

When you open it you'll see a syringe and tube hidden inside.

Apparently, the in-game animal sounds are realistic enough to potentially freak out house-hold pets in real life.

According to my mate the sound of the wolves in the game unsettles his wife’s pet cats! (He mentioned computer game I asked with a correct guess it we RDR2, more popular than you know, we’d never discussed it).

Apparently my friends pets cats noticably react differently to the sounds of different animals in the game too. The seem less scared of the sound of the cougar snarl than the wolves howling, but prick their heads up.

My dog watches the TV screen while I'm playing. Sometimes her ears will perk up but no barking. She's a Pit.
