Things you didn't know about RDR2 until now

This made me smile but if you spend a long time away from camp (like ages 4 -5 plus days). Dutch sends out Charles (may send others, but since Charles is a good tracker he makes more sense) to find you. There is a bit of dialogue and you get a choice to ride back with him or stay out exploring. Amazing work Rockstar

Yeah he sent Javier Escuella to find me.

I have spent weeks outside camp and never had this happen.

Any criminal who is escaping the law can be captured, hog tied and brought to the sheriff's office for a cash reward.

But...

**Spoiler Alert**

The old blind man says run from the seekers and help others who also run. Then says I've told you all i can for now. Don't end up like me.

Well he is blind. So maybe it's not a good idea?

Or maybe its just nothing...

Also...

The in game map makes note of various plants and and animals you collect in any given area. So the more you search for plants and hunt in an area, the more detailed them map becomes.

There are turtles in the game.

Lol I tripped out when I saw a logger head for the first time.

Funny thing is it give you frog legs when you collect it.

Please do, I'm literally praying we can find a cheat so we can visit New Austin at any time. It's fine for the first playthrough, as it's linked to the story and you don't want it's reveal spoiled the first time (I'm on chapter 3 so I have no clue how it's revealed) but for later playthroughs I think it's gonna be a real drag we can't have our desert biome until we beat the game.

It's only relative to what you normally have to deal with. You have to keep entering the cheat as the bounty hunters keep spawning every few seconds

It seems that, no, even with cheats Arthur is still instantly killed upon spending more than a few seconds in New Austin. Despite using the cheat, shots were being fired from nowhere. The gunshots didn't seem related to my wanted level, as I had no red dots on my radar and wasn't actively wanted for the few seconds I was alive there

Also upon being killed in New Austin I end up respawning in New Hanover, miles from the border

You need special lures to catch legendary fishes. Spent like 20 minutes trying to catch a LF with a lure that I had. But it wasn't working. So by that time, I decided help was needed. Quick check online and I saw you needed a special river lure. Sigh... I did catch like 4x 5lbs fishes, which were 2lbs bigger than the legendary I got. But it was kinda nice to just relax.

Minor spoiler about a moment in the camp, not story related.

Just like how members in the camp will occasionally tell stories or give speeches around the campfire, once in a while so will Arthur. I just went to a "?" in the camp and Arthur sat down at the campfire with Uncle, Javier and Bill and told them how sorry he was for how angry and crazy he's been lately and that he cares about them all.

I don't know if this happens from having certain honor or whether perhaps I've antagonized people at the camp too much.

I saw a dog barking at the window of the general store over in Rodes. I checked out what's inside and he was barking at the meat and sausages displayed in the store.

TheOriginalGunslinger

Ran into an NPC picking flowers and when I pressed the button to “Greet” the guy said they were for his mother. First time I saw this. Near Lemoyne by the way.

After completing a bounty, collect the money and walk out backwards.

Come back into the building and the money will still be on the table.

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, but a neat observation I had concerning something during one of the final missions. Spoiler marked for obvious reasons, and the spoilers in this are huge, so read at your own risk.

Spoiler

During the last mission as Arthur, after he and John flee from the Pinkertons and Dutch's posse begins chasing them, only Cleet and Joe are marked with "Enemy" icons. No idea if you can kill them or not, or if it affects the last mission if you do, haven't tried it yet.

This may have been covered but I’m pretty sure your hat retains bullet holes from it being shot off. I noticed my hat had holes but didn’t think anything about it until I saw someone post their Arthur and his hat had a hole in the center

I just found out it's possible to search satchels on other horses and I found a gold nugget. You beauty.

Be careful though. Tried to search a satchel from a horse outside a bar and the bastard horse kicked my ass.

I noticed this a while back but if Arthur's hair is the right length and slicked back, he very much resembles Michael De Santa.

End-game spoiler:

Also, when he's sick and speaks to an NPC, the NPC will say "Will you please cough into your sleeve?"

Yep. Figured this one out not long after I started playing by accident.

I was simply trying to skin a dead horse lol (like you could in RDR1)

Lots of stuff can be found in them.

Also, there is one on each side.

Yeah. Some will let you check both bags. Some will not let you look at all before they kick you.

However, I have noticed that, they do it less if you pet them first.

...but if it kicks you while digging in the bag, then it will normally keep doing it no matter how many times you try.

If you really want to know what is in a bag you keep getting kicked from, there is another option...

You can kill them.

Just make sure you shoot on the side of the bag you are trying to search, because if the horses falls and lays on the bag you want...

you can't get to it.
