Things you didn't know about RDR2 until now

As you may know, we've had a huge topic for GTA Online. Now it's time for RDR2! Maybe you have some fun facts to share or just want to read about facts.

Some things I didnt know until now.

You can't sell items wearing a bandana. The shopkeeper will threaten you until you take it off.

The law hates bandanas. Putting one on in front of a lawman and ignoring him will result in you having a $5 bounty set on you.

Shotgun shells only appear on the Bandolier when equipped or set as a secondary weapon (dual wielding).

I mean it goes without saying but you stand out like a sore thumb if you hold your lantern at night in a gunfight. I was fighting the Saint Denis Police from a boat (great place to fight the cops by the way) after nightfall and decided to bring out my lantern and all of the cops on the coastline started blasting at me

You can sometimes pull the trigger of your gun after you've died.

The piano player's hands aren't just moving randomly, they move accordingly to the piece of music he's playing

Damn boah, we're gonna need 3000 pages..

You can kick people's head when they are on the ground with (O).

You can buy a beer in Saloons and roam around with it.

If you wear a mask or a bandana, some civilians will react to it.

I saw one fight in Valentine at night while arriving at the saloon, two guys through the f*cking windows, arguing about a women, one knocked out the other with one punch, said and I quote "I'm gonna go back with your wife" while walking back into the saloon.

I had no idea the blood and gore was going to be so visceral. I do remember reading that you could blow off limbs, but I thought this was going to be really specific as in certain missions. I had the sawn off and approached some dude at point blank, pulled the trigger and his head literally went everywhere.

I mean I'm used to that brutality in video games, but I haven't seen anything like that in a R* game since Manhunt. I usually see that in horror games. It actually made me stop for a second with my jaw dropped.

I ran over a Rabbit on my Horse by accident so I picked it up to take to Camp. Got off my Horse and collect the Rabbit and Arthur swung it over his shoulder to carry it, when I dropped it off his coat had a small blood stain where the rabbit had been.

Double Tap LB/L1 to twirl your gun and put it away.

Mud on Arthur dries in the sun

Go see a Barber for the full range of hairstyles and beards.

Hair and Beards grow day by day

Change your clothes to clean them up

You can remove or put on your hats in the Horse menu

You can pick up any hat from the ground and wear it

That's hands down the best part of the game for me.

When you hunt and want to save some time, place your horse on the dead animal and you will skip the skinning animation, just like in the first game.

I was also amazed that after a gunfight when Arthur had blood all over him, a guy at a camp fire asked if it was my blood or if it was from someone else.

Animals will kill eachother. This is probably a given, but I had to mention it after I saw a Whitetail buck kill another buck.

There's no saloon and you can't buy alcohol from the catalogue at the general store in Strawberry due to the temperance movement there the store owner still sells it on the shelf though

They kill NPCs too, I was running from the law in tall trees and I ran by a bunch of bears and wolves and they started to attack the lawmen and distract them allowing me to escape

Valentine has two Saloons, one on the main strip and the other has a Strangers mission in it.

LT/L2 the Bartender and you can buy Food and Drink.

You can stack a number of wolf pelts on the back of your horse ... and you can actually see that they are stacked (as opposed to them all just "disappearing" into each other). Not only that, but you can then stick another animal on the back of your horse above the pelts. And not only THAT, but if you've already put an animal carcass over the top of the pelts and then want to stick another pelt on there ... it does a DIFFERENT ANIMATION where Arthur actually tucks the new pelt between the existing pelts and the carcass. My jaw literally dropped when I saw that. It wasn't even the fact that Rockstar thought about it ... as much as it was the fact that once they thought about it they felt that they needed to make it happen for the rare event when the player would try to do that.

A buck charged out of the bushes and knocked Arthur on his ass when i was exploring below the camp. I didn't even see it there, so got a fright. It turned and vanished again with a bunch of does, leaving no chance to pursue.

Gold panners do not take kindly to you hanging around for too long, and Arthur cannot retrieve a fish shot with an arrow.

You can walk away from your personal camp by moving the left stick around a little bit

Arthur's handwriting on his journal gets more and more messy after the Blackwater incidents due to stress/cold.

Double tap L1 to holster your pistol like a pro cowboy.

If you stand at the right angle during the day, you can see light shining through your and NPCs ears.

Arthur can sing. I was staying still on my horse and he started to sing.

Your horse and Arthur will react if you ride through big bushes.

You can see NPC's walking (while holding a rifle) beside their horses with a animal carcass on it, just like in the first trailer.

When setting up a camp, Arthur will set up a tent where the climat is very cold and just a sleeping bag where the climat is temperate.

-If you carry a dead body over your shoulder or place it on your horse the blood will be visible.

-You can look in a mirror and comment on yourself.

-Arthur will dig his heels/spurs into the horse to get it to gallop.

-You can't take a bath while under the influence of alcohol.

-The main camp has various chores you can do such as helping to chop wood, give horses hay etc.

If you try to walk down a steep hill or mountain with your horse with a rocky terrain, you're going to see small stones as well as bigger rocks sliding down the mountain.

My horse didn't fall with me to oblivion, but we slided a short distance two times.

I didnt know you could blow their head off with doble barrel shotgun.

i was fighting, and all of suddently i blow his hole head off, it looked very realistic, not that i have experience with it lol but it looked very real, it’s the coolest and same time most creepy thing i have seen in a shooter game before. This game is so Epic and the more you play it the more you fell in love with it.

hope the online part are detailed too like this 🙂

I saw an hilarious guy in Valentine's saloon, dressed like an hunter straight from the wilderness.

First he was at the bar, speaking very loudly, complaining and talking about the old days.

~"we shat inside and pissed on the floor back in the day, there was no need to go outside..".

I was dying, and some of the NPC's around were looking at him like "what the hell are you talking about".

I came back later but this time he was sitting at a table lmao!!

If you set a waypoint and put the view into “Cinematic”, your horse will head there on a kind of auto pilot. Very, very handy for those long trips.

Edit: You have to do this by tapping the gallop button “A” on Xbox to get going, then holding it and the cinematic button down at the same time on the marked trail to your destination. Once in cinematic the horse will continue at a pace along the trails. Then you can go make a cup of tea.
