I'm expecting to see busy crowds outside game shops with mixed reactions when they get the game. Get back home in one piece is all I say. 

 

As I look on in jealousy because I don't have a console, instead a PC is my source of entertainment. This is a price I pay for not taking risks. 

 

Reviews are looking superb so it should be something to look forward to if a PC release is announced.

Heading to Gamestop in a couple of hours. Been geeked out all day.

I preordered from Xbox store so it’s already downloaded. I’ve just played the first ten minutes or so because it’s 00:40 here and I have to work tomorrow.

 

All I can say is, most of you will be well on with this by the time I get onto it tomorrow afternoon, but....

Been playing for a couple of hours now. I won't spoil anything, but suffice to say it is amazing! The controls will take some getting used [press and hold instead of tap] and the new energy/health system, but will get easier as time goes on. I also have not played many PS4 games, so not used to that either.

 

I went to the midnight launch last night, and the greatest risk about hearing spoilers was from my fellow gamers. Apparently Amazon sent copies early to Australian customers, and one guy there last night had watched 45min of gameplay someone uploaded. I went and stood outside to not hear anything.

Watched a good ten minutes of a mission played in first-person (this is the only thing I'm interested in) and as amazing as it looks I already have concerns. Maybe those lucky enough to have played it extensively can clear up a few things regarding the gameplay and visual options.

 

There were a number of instances in the video I watched where the player was thrown into third person. I can live with this during the mission's prologue and set-up, but not during the mission itself. Can these silly 'cinematic breaks' be disabled?

 

Can subtitles be disabled?

 

Can the mini map be disabled?

 

Can cross hairs be disabled?

 

In a nutshell, can all HUD, pop-ups, button prompts, instructions, mission markers be disabled, so that they NEVER appear? I'll probably play a while with these turned on, but only so I get to learn what does what. Once I know what I'm doing I do not want to be told how to loot a body every time I step over one, or how to open a door, or how to reload etc etc.

 

Put simply, I'd like to play the game so that it never breaks first person, and never shows any on-screen info or HUD elements.

Yes. Each and every HUD part has an option in Settings to enable/disable.

Oh, lordy. I was hoping I wouldn't have to sell an organ to buy this. What the hell, I can live with only one lung.

 

Does disabling these ever get over-ridden, though? I've bought games in the past because my research has led me to believe it can all be disabled, but then when I start playing I'm still getting all manner of prompts and whatnot (I'm looking at you, Far Cry games).

Went physical but can't get out tonight, unexpectedly. Bit gutted but ahh well.

 

Seen a snippet or 2 and it really does look fantastic for me here. I underestimated the reviews/opinions part as that's only gone to hype me up more as the day went on too.

I love on the East Coast of Canada (Nova Scotia), and we're an hour ahead of Eastern time, so I just picked up my copy from Best Buy 40 mins ago.. currently waiting for the install to finish!
