stag3coach2 Posted January 9 Share Posted January 9 (edited) Messing around with the RDR2 save editor for PS4. It's incredible to what extent NPC John Marston is playable, the movement animations are different to those to Arthur, some of his voicelines work specially after playing with him for a while, as first he is mute but then he starts talking to the horses like epilogue John does. He can't greet other npcs EXCEPT when you are on a train, then the greeting system works perfectly with some of John's voicelines (not as much as epilogue John, only the basic ones). When playing a game of cards or dominoes he surprisingly uses generic playing voicelines. One of the best details is that he uses the npc shooting animations on combat, that are super cool and perfectly compatible (when using pistols only), much more dynamic and realistic than those used by Arthur. Although he can't aim downsight, as expected as he never does it in any mission. The drawback is that you can only reload behind cover, and if you empty your magazine you are stuck in the combat animation until you get into cover, being unable to holster the gun. For long guns you must be behind cover to use them, if not expect a buggy mess. On horse or wagon in the other hand gun combat works the same way as with Arthur, being able to reload or use long guns with no problem. First person is buggy as hell, and you can't use guns in it. When using stagecoach fast travel he uses John's voicelines, and when you exit the stagecoach he greets the driver also with John's voicelines. In the other hand when going to a train station he says goodbye to the stationmaster with arthur voice. I wonder if Rockstar ever had an idea to make John playable in 1899, we already know they wanted to implement a Director's Cut like in GTAV.
