I hope the Casino is not the only major add of this DLC. It's just not that big of a deal. It would be great if it was added with mansions though.

 

With Arena War we only had to buy the Arena Workshop, I just hope we won't get the same pattern after seven months. Mansions would make sense.

btw, this is off topic, but I have been watching the Ocean's movies because I am in the casino mood, and those are great movies, Soderbergh has a particular vision and all three movies stand on their own.  one of the rare trilogies where no one movie was better than another, just more of the same and I love it.

the Terrorbyte is a good example, and probably the only one, most other updates didn't have side things except for game modes.

I hope this update brings some more regular properties, when it was the last time we received some more houses to buy? The stilt apartments from way back still feel unfinished, with some weird omissions (looking at that one in Paleto Bay as I write this...) and the garages being a lazy copy-paste work. And there's such awesome houses dotted around the map that I'd just love to be able to buy.

 

It's just wishful thinking but what else can I do?

It's widely known that After Hours was a combo of like two updates. I'm sure the terabyte was business consolidation or something... which puzzles me as to how two updates had like the sh*ttiest side content compared to even one small update

Idk but I know it's the main thing. Every update people say "I hope it's not based around just *the obvious theme*" and every time people are disappointed.

 

The Casino is the main attraction for this update, if it were mansions then they would promote those as the major update add instead.

 

Idk about the Terrabyte type of thing, but I really doubt it.

The RC bandito or whatever was probably a side thing as well but was more of a game mode but idk I just feel like they could add more then just a casino especially with laws around the world.

I don't see mansions in the cards (see what I did there?) for this dlc. I think that ship sailed with stilt apartments, as those were R*'s response to sate the appetite for more luxurious housing. Not to mention the issue of the use of backyards (which imo is the selling point of mansions anyway). I am in no way saying that mansions won't come,  I just personally don't see it as being feasible (at least not without major compromises such as no backyard access).

If anything, I think the likely form of housing we will see is a penthouse suite, à la Lucky 38 suite in New Vegas.

It's not a side thing. It's pulled from the actual Arena War gamemode. Most of the time Rockstar uses the DLC aspects in freemode.

I'm hoping that with something like this we get a bunch of luxury goods and with that I wouldn't doubt mansions. But they could easily pull a dumbass move and give us casinos and the luxury theme and then provide completely unrelated side content that has absolutely nothing to do with the theme whatsoever. That or, they could give us casinos, focus on that, and give us not much side content at all (After Hours, which did both actually. Completely unrelated bullsh*t and not much of it either). I really hope that isn't the case.

 

I think they may do exactly the same thing they did with heists/IGG like you mentioned.

 

Casino update in July and then Mansions in the December update.

Here is where I might disagree with you.  1) I believe this is still most requested item (right up there with casino) 2) assuming casino is a business, mansions might be the most logical next step for full consolidation of all business.  Imagine that you had a master room with monitors where you could watch all of your businesses, so you don’t have to go between them.  You can order all supplies including simply buying them.  You could guess RS wouldn’t want to do that early making it very easy to make money, but as we get to the end, they may do this, especially for a property that they can now get upwards of $5-$8 million for.  Throw in a pool table or some other mini game, and RS would print SC.  I see them coming, but not in this update.

they could do the backyards if the corona was outside the gate and the whole property was it's own instance, with no load going from yard to garage to house.  then all they would have to do is remove the NPC and vehicle spawns from the property

I don't know, it just seems to good to be true though, and with stilt apartments I feel R* thinks they did enough. I would love mansions, but I personally don't believe R* will do it because they already did stilt apartments. That said, the mansion you describe sounds exactly like what I would want out of a mansion. Like a terrorbyte's utility for the businesses, but with the luxury of the yachts.

Can they do that? The technicalities of it are beyond my knowledge, but wouldn't they have to recreate the city as its own cell? Maybe not the whole city but an LOD skyline of downtown and maybe the immediate surroundings of your mansion? Is that feasible?

I don't know enough about it either but yeah, that's pretty much how I imagine it will happen, a separate cell with the skyline as LOD

Have we speculated how the games would work? Just dropping in and out of tables or full on loading screens and lobbies? Me personally I think and hope it would work like the arm wrestling where we don't sit through several loading screens.

I can only imagine it's gonna be like RDO, which is pretty much exactly as you describe.

I hope the xa21 gets fixed in the next update. Also R* please have mercy and remove and never use any of the advanced handling flags, it would suck so hard to skip most of the vehicles in the next update just for that

I haven't noticed anything like that and it's my go-to super car. Maybe it's got to do with the choice of wheels (I have the stock ones), if not just some bug?
