Well, they do have more time making more stuff/doing the un-thinkable, fixing stuff by just skipping a march update. Also, Red Dead Online is also a thing they need to worry about.

Does anyone know what the longest dripfeed has been for a DLC? Plus the average amount of post-dripfeed event weeks?

 

Given that timescale and subsequent event weeks / discounts, we could work backwards from the Christmas DLC (which I'm fairly positive we'll get, right guys?!) release date and calculate roughly when R* would need to release the upcoming DLC, in order to allow sufficient time between it ending and Christmas DLC releasing. I'm taking into account what a few folk have suggested, in that it's going to be quite large.

 

Can you tell I'm clutching at straws?

I think they only stretch it out so far and then just leave weeks with no content at the end. I don't think we've had drip feed last longer than about 3 or 4 months.

We dont. It's 100% pure speculation. I based my date nothing more then just my own prediction.

At this rate, I wouldn't count on it.

Honestly, I think this upcoming DLC will be it for the year. It'll either have a huge drip feed which will last for MONTHS or it'll be the standard volume but the drip-feed frequency will be stretched out over the year. Maybe we'll be lucky and get something more around Christmas but since we missed the last DLC date my hopes are not high whatsoever.

It's to be expected for Rockstar to mainly focus on their newly released IP rather than their old one, as irritating as it may be.

we will get a dlc before december! they mentioned 'gta facebook streams in the weeks & months ahead' that confirms dlc is coming in next couple of months.

 

i will assume the dlc is coming on july 25th to avoid disappointment... it's the last thursday of july pretty sure we will get the dlc before that date 

 

i have stopped bothering with guessing dlc release dates now its clear C* doesn't give a f*ck about us they can't even f*cking tell us the theme of next dlc!

They should have focused on SP for RDR2, RDR2 shouldn't even have an online mode *just my thoughts* because it was evidently going to flop, which it did and continues to do. Like I said earlier, R* could have given us small LTS standing update or January 2016 updates to keep us entertained whilst we waited for the main DLC but they have literally neglected this player base and bored everybody by giving us boring missions which are literally just old missions with updated vehicles and objectives in new places, and pre-existing adversary modes in a new boring location. No one is winning right now, not RDR2O players, not GTAO players, not even R*.

Thats my main issue. People think just because this time we have to wait longer (bc they focusing on rdro now) its gonna be something bigger and better then anything we seen before and I just don't believe that.

Yeah sure... but now when RDR2 is out we know they focusing their attention on RDRO. So I don't think its suddenly gonne be better, bigger or more polished then every dlc we seen so far. 

I'm calling it now - It's gonna be just like every other dlc we seen before, the only real difference will be 5x longer dripfeed and people will complain that 90% of this dlc is locked so they can release is slowly for next... 6 to 12 months.

Agreed. C* should focus on story mode dlc... they have messed up gta online and rdr2 online is a disaster.... but shark cards and gold bars are priority for them and 12 year olds are still purchasing gta so they will not stop smh.... i miss gta iv type story dlcs

All they have to do for me, is release a newswire saying stuff like - in the upcoming update next month, there'll be *insert vague theme*, and we've taken onboard the feedback you sent us, rebalancing stuff like the orbital cannon and broomstick.

 

Is that really too much to ask for? Why should I be hyped when they may well have ignored all the feedback and left the game in an obnoxious, repetitive, tryhard/child-pandering state?

Edit: Or you know what? Why not just release a patch with tweaks and fixes, separately from the new content, a little earlier? Why is that so far out an option for them?

Right now you can own one of every vehicle, including significant variants (such as Buffalo and stock car version) across two characters, with a small selection of duplicate models.  But just barely. 

 

If they release many more cars, this will no longer be possible.

It's not 2013 anymore DLC

 

Insted of calling a mechanic, listening to him talk about himself, then scrolling through a list, you get a giant vehicle despository and an app.

 

When you click on it, you get a view of the warehouse and vehicles, as with the office garage vehcile management icon and scroll through the floors / bays and select a vehicle.

 

Having a vehicle delivered without wanting to beat the mechanic upside the head with a tire iron would be a nice change of pace for this game.

IMO would be the worst bussiness decision if they would give us a small update. Nah, i thinki it will be big, maybe one of the biggest and with the most changes that we ever had. If i was to bet, they skip the march update to focus in the feedback ideas and make a good dlc out of it.

 

P.S.: I don't bet a naval dlc now, maybe the xmas one, if i would to choose with a bussiness perspective in mind i would put a mansion dlc in the summer bcz makes sense mansions = summer = high life. But nonethless, the scuba suits were a important addition in the game, very handy, but if they dont implement some changes (or a dlc) about the ocean, i dont see why even they bother with that...bcz, there's nothing fun to do inside the water, there's no aquatic animals and any mission/story objetive to do inside the ocean.

the seasons are opposite in both hemispheres ... so I don't think they will do a specific theme because it is summer, since the other middle of the Earth it's winter... I'm just trying to say that R* don't choose the theme of DLC based of the seasons....

 

however, R* can do mansions anyway...

Yeah, they just ridiculously downgrade their games before launching, release the same games each year once they find a formula that they can milk it out until it dries, don't do proper QA testing even on their AAA games, have adopted anti-consumer policies with their sh*tty DRM and Uplay nonsense...And I'm not even going to mention their awful micro transactions and season passes in general as these are well-known of.

 

Look, I'm all for complaing about R* and general lack of care with this game, but Jesus Christ, thinking Ubisoft somehow is better than them just makes me think you're trolling.

 

BTW GTA IV servers are still up and that game is eleven years old already.
