That mission was hilariously funny and the payout was worth it, we could repeat it and there was no bullsh*t like having to buy a business or some dumb sh*t like that, we could try to go full Rambo on it or communicate with other players and be strategic, it was pure unadulterated fun.

I would like to add the word 'meaningful' to what you've said. All of the bikes are outclassed by the Opressors in terms of max speed and considering that the game itself is slow AF, there's little sense in driving them outside the city. I would like to see some bike with 140 mph in game speed without a rocket engine on it, that would be absolutely brilliant. Otherwise, we're set in terms of bikes, IMO. Reskins have little value for me, and that's coming from a guy with a full MC of various bikes + another garage just for the bikes. Most of the time I'm driving Oppressor Mk 1, even if I don't really like the thing.

Jesus. What's this thing with limited shirts, why not make interesting outfits like police or paramedic or IAA time limited? Who seriously give a damn about boring t shirts? People won't even feel these tees are limited, because almost nobody knows the full list of regular t-shirts.

Now if we get a couple of cars in this little update, decent ones, Ill be hella hyped bc itll be like an appetizer. Doubt tho. And when is it supposed to come? Thursday? This Thursday?

I mean, I really hope this update isn't just two Adversary Modes because as much as I personally love playing them I wouldn't wanna download an update without at least it including a hefty number of bug fixes/quality of life changes

Lol at all the posters trying to justify an adversary mode DLC. If I was dumb I would call you guys fanboys, but I know better. You either have extremely low expectations, or you're simply happy to have any news regarding the future of GTAO. Just wait though, when these adv modes drop I'm willing to bet the salt and dissatisfaction will be real, as it should be. I get they have to focus on RDO now too, but come on... a friggin adv mode DLC?!

well this won't be the summer dlc yet according to fun,so i think this is just something to hold us over.

and if rockstar knows that just some new adversary modes won't hold people over than we can MAYBE atleast expect a new vehicle or 2.

 

i know it's not much at all,but atleast it could be interesting if we get new vehicles.

Is anybody here actually happy with that though? Happy is different from satisfied.

 

I'll be satisfied if we get some seriously needed bug fixes and major balancing changes, I can handle not getting any new content besides AMs.

It's very looking like to be a surprise drop just like the last RDO updates have been, they drop the update and then break out the news in their social media pages.

 

Christ, I still don't understand why they have to be so secretive, they get nothing out of that.

I really wouldn't get your hopes up about cars coming in this mini-update. 

 

Could they give us two cars like they did with the banshee update? Absolutely. I just wouldn't get my hopes up.

 

I'm expecting adversary modes and that's it. The real juicy stuff is coming in next month's real update.

Who even knows, if this will be a biggo update or a smally, will we get only cars or we will get cars AND other transport, will we get offices or will we get just.. something. Sadly, leakers can't give us any information since Take-Two are just being mini Bill Cipher's.

i don't even expect cars as fun said new adversary modes will be included in this update, they will save cars for the next big dlc i.e june/july.

You could be right... then again After Hours content was really trash, so trash that SSASSS actually surpassed it.

...but it’s not a DLC though? Or have I got it backwards?

 

As I read it, it’s locked content inside the last update just like the Simeon jobs were. But if I’m wrong please correct me.

 

On a similar note, I’m not one bit excited about dripfed AM’s. But I still applaud R* dripfeeding stuff like they do. I haven’t played the Simeon jobs yet, but they’re new co-op missions that breathed some life into the wait for the next big update.

 

We will probably see 2 big updates each year from now on with dripfed vehicles, AM’s and (if we’re lucky) co-op Contact Missions to carry us over between them. I really don’t see a problem with that. The game is almost 6 years old, they can’t keep supporting it with big updates 4 times a year forever. Most content is already in the game anyway.

 

Not very excited about these AM’s, but I still commend R*’s practices in this regard. The summer update is really close anyway, we’ll soon get the proper stuff we’re all waiting for. 🤷‍♂️

 

Edit/addition: If it is in fact a downloadable mini-update patch we’re getting... I hope it’s got a few QoL and bug fixes in it. But whatever, we know the summer update is coming, we know that it’s ”exciting stuff” according to yan2295, and we know that it’s expensive. It all sounds alright in my opinion. If R* decides to throw a mini-patch of AM’s at us before then, I’m

not complaining.

I'm all for a downloadable mini-patch since that potentially means bug fixes and other improvements, they should do that regularly instead of every 6 months even if they don't have major content ready to release.

 

I'm not going to defend adversary modes though I suppose some people must like them.

the problem have never been the adversary modes, the problem have been the excess of them...

 

things will have been better if R* mixed things a bit by releasing a batch of contact missions, then a batch of races, then a batch of adversary modes, etc etc etc but for a while all they did was to release AM and some of them were aweful.

You know what would be even better than R* made adv modes? Opening the doomsday bunker in Chiliad up for player created DMs, adv modes and captures. I forget who hinted at the Chiliad base being the location for these new adv modes that are supposedly coming, and yeah, that could be cool, but I would prefer DMs or even better, missions set there.

But you know a problem in it? I don't see people playing TDM's...maybe bcz we now have too much "military toys" that people enjoy kill others with it and you can't get them in normal TDM's...but a way of surpass that problem was creation some TDM's maps where you can use them...that way people could have their wars at will and could leave free mode in peace.

Forcing me into having to consider selling a slice of my collection to own certain low-end property seems to me to be the height of dumbassery, and it's probably way past time to re-jig the property structure to allow multi-tier pricing for each based on a user defined garage selection. if you want a 10-car, you pay for it, regardless of which property it is, rather than locking them to a preset.

 

I get that in the early days that was part of the charm, to work your way up as in RL, but it's 6 years on and we're all rich now so how about you give me the option of installing a nice basement garage in my run-down shack?

 

 

Pal...i can agree with you that AH dlc passive income bussiness was came at handy, but i dont get if you're talking about the bussiness itself was "liberating" or everything in the dlc was. If so...explain me bcz i dont get. For me they dropped the ball af. I already mentioned it: The nightclubs interiors feels poorly developed. Only 2 different styles, you can't come up with a personal name, no mini-games, you dance alone...npc's are just there in that place, they dont move, R* be like: "hey no fun activities to do here, but we didnt forgot to put a janitor to receive tips that in the future will be used as a way to the players get a epsilon outfit while tiping the janitor with 560 something dolars for the next real half hour. Oh man, we do have awesome ideas!"...well, summarizing it all, we were expecting a dlc like gta iv: tbogt, but we got the gta online: afther hours-of-working-in-RDR-2-this-is-what-we-could-do-with-the-next-gta-dlc DLC. The AH got poorly developed bcz it came in the time when all the attentions were in finishing and releasing RDR 2 in the same year. It was a bad decision for a dlc that the expectations of it were very high.

Well, @Fun 2 is adamant that money will be an issue with the Summer one I'm inclined to believe, given the greed we saw with Arena War and the ridiculous new Trade Price Everything approach R* took, for such little payouts. He says that as he sits around $20m, I myself have around $68.4m with a 25/25 Hanger and full Nightclub ready to be sold when the times comes. Here's the thing, depending on WHAT the update involves will be the deciding factor. If it's a repeat of Arena War where it requires other players to earn money, forget it. If it's an Ill Gotten Gains style cash sink, okay. If it's a Heist that pays out less than the investment... it better not have Auto-Fail missions or Titanium Skulled enemies like Doomsday.

 

Enough for what though...

- Just the meat of the update and a small side?

I just hope they arent exaggerating. I struggled to spend more than 7 mil on AH, 3/4 of that was the club and garages themselves. At this point we need an Ill Gotten Gains style cash sink, it's kind of stupid how we don't have that yet. I mean, not only would a mass of luxury sh*t to buy be good for sales, it would keep people engaged especially with dripfeed bc if its good content its good content, people stay interested especially if every dripfeed week we get good content and not run of the mill garbage. I never understood this "add this way to make money" "add that way to make money" adding a whole bunch of ways to make money BUT not giving us more crazy ways to spend it. There's a point where it becomes pointless because you're just wasting your time making cash that you may never use. If they stopped adding updates or just gave us menial crap from here on out I'm pretty sure I'd stay above 70 mil til GTAO gets cut off, if ever. I just don't get why they're holding themselves back, they act like they've run out of ideas when theres a sh*t ton of ideas they haven't tried. How hard is it to give us a crap ton of sh*t to spend 10s of millions on? Why wouldn't they wanna do that if shark card sales are so important?

 

I'm basically just wishlisting here but this seems highly convincing to someone in need of cash to buy a shark card:

- beach house - 5 million

- mansion thats customizable - 10 million, mods make it to 15

- 30 new cars (theres hundreds they havent done, shouldnt be hard to select 30) - thats easily at least 30 mil-50 alone

- planes, boats, helis... dont even get me started that reaches 10s of mills easily

 

A game with a focus on making cash should not be boring when it comes to spending it, it should feel endless.
