Next DLC Speculation Thread Mk VII

Fun2's Twitter feed implies very heavily that a new DLC is going to hit next month or July, and that it is going to be very expensive.  Heavy emphasis to SAVE your money.  20 million is not going to be anywhere near enough for the stuff that's coming.  So to summarise:

 

• DLC coming June / July
• DLC will be EXPENSIVE
• You will need in excess of £20 million - minimum!

the dream liberty city dlc doubt it that will be gta 6 in few years along with vice city as rockstars final gta game my guess.

The days of leakers just being able to show their hand are over. It's time we all accepted that the soonest we'll know anything about the update is the day before it releases, if not the day itself.

I keep telling people that none of their targeting ideas are meant for long term players that have tens or hundreds of millions of dollars who will not buy sharks cards anyway.  Their monies are made on the masses between those people and the causal gamers playing many games who logs on every once in a while.  So targeted sales are for regular players (at least those playing regularly at the moment) who have very few funds in their account, hoping they blow that money then spend on shark cards when new update drops.  It really isn’t complicate...

Unlikely, just about every single update can be started with 1-1.5 mil for the basic property to get everything going.

 

I'd wager that this one will be no different, a mil to get in the door, more if you want customizations, more if you want any of the initial vehicles, etc.

Yeah I guess.  Previous DLCs, I just drip-feed the purchases to myself, buying what I can when I'm comfortable to do so.

 

For those that want everything at once, 20 million is probably going to be the minimum you'd need.

Most of what I want is initially from the drip feed smh. This will likely be the same. Unless theres some lucrative mistake made that practically forces me to buy the properties for some serious cash.

This. The dripfeed is almost the best part of any DLC.

Damn, £20 million. Maybe Brexit occurs before the DLC is released so our GTA dollars might be worth more then.

20 million is nothing, if you were to buy most of the stuff from the last 4 DLCs it'd cost you over 40 million, each. The total sum of everything in Arena Wars alone amounted to over 250 million, though that was to own literally every single thing including clothing for both men and women, and all vehicle customisation options. Still though, being told to "save up your money" for the next update isn't news, nor insider info.

£20M? It won't be that much; if you spent that much on shark cards you'd probably crash the GTA character servers. That's GTA$2,666,664,000,000. The DLC will probably only need half that much.

I never thought Id say this but Im just about seriously done. Ive taken 2 6 month breaks before and have always come back but this game is nearly at its limit on ps4. Updates for pc and xb1x only would partially solve the problem. My phone has more cpu power than a normal ps4.

I dont think you'd ever need more than a million or so to get going, else players who buy sharks wouldn't even bother buying any, and that is the only type of player that motivates them to make dlcs for anyway.

 

Next there's the price of owning the key stuff, ie the property and a couple or so main vehicles. Perhaps that's what has increased to 20 million, normally would be about half that?

 

Finally there's the completionists, ie owning most/all of it. But I wouldn't have thought that anyone in this category buys sharks, so when the cost of the last dlc was 250 million, it's not like that is relivant here, more for the two categories above.

as long as it's good

as long as it's not a small filler dlc like arena war

and preferably not a dripfeed half of the update like after hours

as long as it is worth the wait of over half a year I'm sure I'll be satisfied with it

I've had zillions for ages, I'm in it for the dripfeed cars that probably won't come out until September. It always seems like the cars I want are at the end of the dripfeed.

 

Arena War was the only one that gave me what I wanted up-front, the Imperator is my new go-to freemode car.
