Yeah well that was unbelievable to be honest with you but at least they made announcement about dlc by this time

Probably because they want the December update to hit people harder this time, what with RDR2 and RDO being out now as well.

 

I bet no one apart from us hardcore fans will see a GTAO update announcement coming on Monday or even an update this month. Most folk are balls deep into Rockstar's new project now or just other games in general. The ones who still play GTAO but don't scower the web for update news like us won't even see the update coming the way it is.

 

Rockstar uses this silence technique to their utmost advantage, trust me when I say they do it for a reason.

this whole situation is just like the after-hours-situation back in july:
many people expected a release on the 11th with a trailer on the 6th. didn't happen. back in july, many people said "maybe r* changed their schedule for announcements" - din't happen as well:
we got a trailer on the 19th with a release on the 24th back then.

at this point it's safe to assume that we'll get a trailer on the 13th with a release on the 18th.

I've been willfully ignoring this little tidbit and running strictly off of past Update release dates.

 

In before After Hours, when QABeta 2 stopped updating that meant R* had sent the update of to Sony and Microsoft to get "okayed" (whatever the correct term is), which would take about 2 weeks? Is that still in play in the new QABeta 2 & QABeta3 rulebook? Because that would be about right for a release on the 18th-ish.

It could be the 18th, but it can also be the 11th, because before After Hours update was released, Rockstar was giving away money for logging in. and they just did that this week.
they always did that before any update.

Im pretty turned off by no announcement today. im interested but not as interested as last year or before to say the least. need a really good reason to play again and ive got 50+ mil and would like to spend it, unlike nightclubs where there was so much hype and yet the content sucked so bad i struggled to spend over 7 mil. hopefully being prepared this time will be worth it. if we get an announcement monday then great, if not i wont hold my breathe and will focus on finishing out this semester and if i wake up to surprise update that would be nice

I found all properties 30% off suspicious.  They asked our resident leaker to shut up.  I really hope these are tactics meant to get people to not bother saving up for the update, hence releasing an update.

Yeah that would be a smart tactic as well, especially with RDR2 and RDO out. No one has any idea of the update dropping next week so once a major one does drop out of nowhere, shark card sales will soar through the roof.

It's a weird one, it was all pointing to this event week being the pre-update bankrupter, but all that's on offer is

- Every High-End Apartment & Stilt House

- 5 Super Cars

- 3 Sports/Classic Cars

- 4 Pegasus Vehicle (1 Weaponized)

- The Rocket Voltic

 

Now... the only theory I could come up with is that if a Dec 2018 would involve new Heists this would be R* giving those who have yet to do the originals a decent shot at them before the update. Nothing about the vehicles is giving me any signals here it all seems like any other event week, but what does throw me sideways is their choice of Double $ opportunity. Motor Wars...

I think they have done their damage already.  They made client jobs double waaay more often than I would have thought, which I think was to make more people buy a tb, which needs a nc.  I don't care if there is a new moc/tb/avenger, just give me new cars and crunchy stinky fish to blow my millions on.

I’ve lost a little hope that we’re going to get a new DLC only limited time Christmas items but 9 times out of 10 if no trailer doesn’t drop Tuesday and it releases out of nowhere then it’s going to be trash.

Or maybe they're just tactics meant not to get leakers to tell everyone that there aren't any planned updates for the game, since people suddenly not playing the game and not buying Shark Cards will be abysmal for them. And their "more content to come" excuse is just clever wording for seasonal content that comes and goes.

R* have got to impress T2 and the investors, and with what I've heard about RDO, that ain't the horse R* should be backing for the holiday season. People who gave up on GTA:O are on R*'s back about the Gold Bars like a laser and they aren't even avaliable to purchase yet, since they learned their lesson about what happens to your beloved franchise if you make microtransactions profitable for producers. I can't say anything about population numbers, but I'll put it this way...

 

- Take one Online mode that has made you more and more money each winter season for three years in a row, the game is built and your fans are wondering how you can top yourself for the fourth year in a row and your last update was nearly half a year ago to make way for...

- Setting up another Online mode from scratch, launching it in beta, having no premium currency activated for the winter period and no immediate content update expected since you've officially launched the mode in Beta.

 

Which of those two options would you work on if you had T2 demanding mass profit for December? Remember, R* want their fans to be able to alternate between GTAO and RDO, until they can find out which is the more profitable venture.

I hope it's like an ill-gotten gains part 3 dlc. You could have a casino heist and mansions with that type of content. Plus you could see lots of classics and supers.
