How can Yan possibly know that his info isn't baited (i.e. told/shown only to him) That's how I'd weed out leekers, tell 'em all something slightly different.

Also, while Rockstar can't fix some basic game flaws from it's early days, I'm sure they'd be able to trace a leak.

Yan is the one guy who has consistently leaked information about updates regularly. Fun would occasionally post things he would find in scripts and other files that are either cut content or future content, such as the cut arena war vehicles. You have one guy who leaked information that is considered covered under NDA and another who finds possible future content within the game files. If information leaks about a future update, espcially if it's something you cannot find in the game scripts/files, we all know who they will target first.

I mean, with all Rockstar's new projects like Red Dead Online, their next game and the sequel to GTA V, my guess is the team dedicated to GTA Online keeps shrinking, so it's probably now more than than ever risky to leak any info, because it's gonna be easier for Rockstar to go back to the leaker at issue.

You make the joke but I am willing to bet that at least one account on here belongs to a R* Dev/Employee even if the Mods dont know about it. Not even official just their personal account.

 

Its common practice for Devs to have accounts on major gaming websites to keep their finger on the pulse so I dont see why it would be any different here.

I agree. I still argue that the Saints Row argument is sort of useless, and that's because some of the games in the past had crazy sci-fi sh*t you could do. It was just on a way smaller scale compared to GTA Online.

 

IMO, I believe that the alien stuff in the story mode was a possible reference to an alien DLC that probably got cut (and I'm sure plenty of other people speculated this too). I'm sure it would've been similar to Undead Nightmares. Now we have a few missions related to aliens and some alien costumes in GTA Online.

 

Anyway. I agree with some of you guys that, based on what Yan said, we could be getting long-requested stuff. Is it a naval DLC? Is it mansions or casinos. Or is it a DLC named after a series of games that have to do with illegal street racing after midnight? To quote Josh Homme:

Said this for years, you can tell the age of a GTA player by them saying that GTA has no place for wacky and insane sh*t. f*ck off, go and play GTA2 with the Electro-Gun and the ability to weaponize vehicles with mines and machines guns. Or play SA where you could get a Dildo as a weapon and you broke into Area 69 to steal a Jetpack.

Aliens are canon to GTAV, you can literally find a frozen alien corpse fifteen minutes into the game. The Deluxo, Oppressor MkII, UpnAtomiser, Unholy Hellbringer and Windowmaker are all made from reverse engineered alien technology.

The difference is that GTA 2 was set in the future and the Jetpack from GTA SA was a black project.

 

Even when some of the futuristic vehicles in GTAO like the Deluxo have been explained as "Cliffford did it", some like both Oppressors were never explained in-universe, hence why their presence in the game is jarring and inmersion breaking for some.

The presence of aliens in "Prologue" is meant to be an easter egg.

 

None of the laser weapons were explained in-universe either, they're just "there", not to mention that both the Widowmaker and Unholy Hellbringer actually fire bullers in the ingame show.

@Yan2295 could you at least tell us if one of us was right? is it one of those 10-20 frequently requested themes? Or something that no one expected?

Too bad they never tell us that in the game... I don't mind those vehicles but they should gives us a little bit of story first, make us steal that alien hover techn from the military or something. But they just give you all those deluxos oppressors and alien weapons with no explanation at all... Wasted opportunity.

I don't know what they can do with casinos other then a heist but at least naval could give us new features

- Using weapons underwater (+harpoonguns and crossbows)

- clean ocean with animals (shark hunts) 

- super fast boats subs and diver propulsion devices

Everything I expect regarding Survival Modes are a Creator, as well as an endless waves mode and new types of enemies (i.e. the Doomsday Heist Juggernauts).
Edit: I actually specifically asked for endless modes within a Survival Mode on their feedback page. A girl can still dream, right? No? Ok I go...
