I don't get how leakers leaked stuff about gta online, but not even the simple location of gta 6 has been leaked. I feel like the 90% of the leaks are intentional from rockstar and the leakers are either directly from rockstar under aliases or fed to gta influencers. In other words rockstar want us to have all the leaks we have had, the reason we have none recently is down to no more significant content being on-coming. Even that guy on broughys podcast (yan?) Didn't confirm or deny that his contact was acting with rockstar consent.

No, endgame means "content available to max level players in an MMORPG game".

 

In GTAO, a level 1 can jump straight to basically everything the game offers if he has enough cash to throw at the game. No progression or skill needed anymore, hell, R* removed both level and Heist requeriments for certain vehicles like the Hydra long ago.

 

GTAO truly has no endgame.

all games have an endgame, just because it isn't level locked doesn't mean it isn't endgame...  the goal of Online is to make money and buy sh*t, if you have done that then yes, you won.  so being expensive, or behind an expensive pay wall, is end game for this game...  I mean, that means Online is pay to win, because yes you can buy Shark Cards...

I don't really care about them, and I don't see it as likely to happen. Missions take place there and with stilts already being a thing, it makes them less meaningfull, rockstar only release meaningful stuff.

While I don't completely discard the possibility that R* is leaking on purpose to hype the game, I honestly doubt it in virtue or R* being secretive as f*ck.

 

I mean, I think that yan being told to not leak anymore has to do more with RDR2's release than GTAO. After all, why Take Two waited just until a new game's release was close to tell him "plz don't leek no mo', k thx" instead of years ago, when GTAO was at its peak?

I'm pretty sure R* have purposely given out information in the past.

 

I seem to recall @BenDeRposting here a while back, showing an example of information R* had sent to either the GTANF admin team or BenDeR specifically, I've searched and can't find the post, so if I'm incorrect I'm sure it will get pointed out.

 

If I am indeed recalling the above correctly then I'm sure similar situations will have occurred within the admin/moderation team here.

 

Whether these occurrences still happen, I don't know.

 

As for why R*, after all these years wanted to cut off the leak supply, I'm guessing it has more to do with trying to start RDO leak free than all of a sudden deciding they aren't ok with the GTAO leaks.

 

Hopefully R* are more open and forthcoming with official information going forward, because, honestly, info droughts are f*cking tedious, they kill rather than build hype levels. I honestly don't give a sh*t what the next DLC is, not because of RDR2 or RDO, not because I don't plan to play the new content, because I do and not even because GTAO is 5 years old. I don't give a sh*t because I find R*s strategy of silence completely f*cking boring.

 

Having said all that, given RDO is supposed to be releasing within the next 13 days and that we know next to nothing about it, including the actual release date, I have very little hope of R* starting to communicate more with its customers.

And they seem to be very serious about it. Even Yan was discouraging people from posting RDO leaks.

Well theres the fact it is plausible someone's fathers brothers nefews cousins former roommate works for rockstar. Whether it's a janitor or more plausibly a beta tester or dev themselves, after all the developers are human beings they have friends and family like I guess 10% of this site has. Usually they're hushed by NDA clauses in their employment contracts but that doesn't mean everyone keeps their mouth zipped.

It also builds a smoke screen for R* to change its mind... remember the lashback when they said heists AND online would be available on SP launch? We gave up on heists before they launched. Then go to last year when leakers said a I am not a hipster 2 Esque update was coming and nightclubs but it was swapped with DDH. Disappointment for some sure but R* cant be faulted for z non official source. Theres also the opportunity to gauge fans expectations and reactions by viewing sites like this to make any changes.

Yes people are expecting them. They said years back we should expect them but 5 years later we have yet to get them. Many still hold hope and to this day the only early day expectations we've yet to receive was casino and mansions. Theres been a resurgence of hope since nightclubs were one of those.

Yeah I saw that. My first thought was that if Yan is warning them over a leaked screenshot R*/T2 must have been pretty firm when "asking" him to quit leaking.

 

I guess we'll see what happens if R*Intel carry on with the RDO leaks.

Yes people are expecting them. They said years back we should expect them but 5 years later we have yet to get them. Many still hold hope and to this day the only early day expectations we've yet to receive was casino and mansions. Theres been a resurgence of hope since nightclubs were one of those.

Players dont like other players being able to spam spawn the mk1 one, Lets add a dedicated button to spawn the mk2. Lets also not give vehicles in mc clubhouse a cooldown. Meanwhile normal cars still have that 5 minute cooldown because of a glitch that was fixed in 2014.

yeah but the MK1 is decidely less powerful, still good, but not in any way OP. The mark 2 has countermeasures, the ability to just f*ckin spin, and indefinite flight

The MK1 is just as OP. It may not have the ability to fly indefinetly, but it is way more manouverable. It can do half loops, it can fly down pointing it nose to the ground, spamming missiles at what ever there might be. Even a good sniper is lucky when he gets a hit on one.

When it gets shot at by a missile, it just needs to fold its wings and drops down at an incredible speed dodging the missile with ease. Its quite litterally a mini jet.

 

The reason why the mk2 got counter measures, is that it would be a missile magnet like all helicopters are for the deluxo and the mk1. R* wanted something that surpasses the deluxo and the mk1, so they needed to make it nearly invincible to these two, so that even the regular 1 braincell tryhard would be able to use it.

Regarding endgame in gta5, I think the endgame is being able to afford everything in the next update right away, while being confident that one can easily gain enough to be set for the one after.

 

With just my bunker and nightclub operating, I know I will always be set.

Yup, already have my 15 million for the next update (I usually only buy stuff for around 10 million plus some clothes, etc.)

Looks like I'll skip and enjoy Red Dead Online.

This place could be a case study in how a dev can all but kill a once vibrant community with a combination of poor quality content and lack of communication with its fan base.

 

RDO section is hardly queueing up on the hype train platform either. Could that have anything to do with there being basically f*ck all RDO information to get excited over or even discuss.

At least leaks gave us *something* to speculate or hell, even argue about. Someone posts a dubious image of a car, it'd spark hours of yes/no, but R* decided to plug that hole. And force us to just sit here with our hands on our laps in dead silence, just waiting for....alleged content?

Well, instead of waiting we could discuss what we want in the next update. How about the ability to hire some sort of NPC's who are smart enough to get your cargo back to your business/warehouse? Same thing for selling? They could get wages that the player has to pay to not make it an "I will never play with other people again" feature. Imagine having an NPC driving your special cargo Brickade while you escort him with your Savage.
