It’s sad how much potential online had but R* ruined it with futuristic crap

Online is sure slowing down which means we won’t get any major updates like we used to do in 2017

i'm pretty sure that recently i've seen some statistics saying that gta online is getting more players than ever before. and the base game is still selling really well. they're also still profiting more than ever with shark cards so i don't know where you're getting "slowing down" from

People still believe the earth is flat? ;)

Not sure what I want most from the dripfeed, Schlagen or that they enable the ability to remove lamp posts etc in the creator, both on Tuesday would be nice but I'm not expecting any of them tho

either we won't get a march dlc or it'll be the smallest march update yet. if i had to bet, i'd say next dlc in june with some decent amount of content (and hopefully story, arena war disappoints on that topic).
personally, the arena war dlc didn't catch my interest at all. i like the maze bank arena as a spawn point and the toros, schlagen (and maybe the itali gto if broughys initiative succeeds) are the only things i like.

at this point, it's pretty safe to say that everything from finance and felony to after hours was the prime time of gta online. best and biggest dlcs imo.

i just can't believe a tuners dlc hasn't happened yet. would it be too hard for them to just add a couple of street race modes?

arena wars has actually given me a good idea for a tuner dlc. we get to upgrade new / existing cars in 3 ways. drag, street & drift. i'd definitely buy all 3 versions because there is an actual difference between the 3.

I’m amazed we don’t have a nitrous option for all cars at this point.

Rockstar seems to have the uncanny ability of simply not wanting a lot of money...

Nitrous on all cars would’ve earned them a solid mint. They could’ve made it so you had to purchase the arena garage, like the custom light colors, and people would’ve instantly eaten it up.

But no, that’d be too easy...

Might be they are like "we're not letting you install nitrous in your peasant 9k$ futo, shell out 1,5kk$ on one of new compatible arena wars  vehicles or gtfo".

But yea, make it even a garage of peasant cars to install nitrous in and that already makes 7 digit bill, so...

If you had a choice of GTA 6 this year or 3 massive DLCs that satisfy a lot of player requests (Cops n Crooks, mansions, etc), which would you pick?

The former isn't gonna happen for a good stretch and the latter, well, doesn't look we'll be seeing releases of that scale any more, but curious to know how folk are feeling.

Realistically, I expect we'll be getting 1 x small summer DLC and perhaps 2 more before the end of the year.

The latter option, easily.

There's already talks of the coming of the ninth generation of consoles. Allowing the next GTA game to stay in the oven for a couple more years would allow it to avoid this one's curse of being written for really old hardware. Having the following game released when the next generation is already established would allow it to reap in the benefits of a bit more of horsepower from the new systems. Not only that, but it would also force Rockstar to create a great product to have as high sales as this one instead of having them inflated from having the same game released on two different generations - pushing some to buy the same title multiple times to get the better experience.

This would also allow for this game to get a couple more of content and maybe satisfy some more of the people's wishes and give them some more entertainment out of their purchase.

But mostly for the reasons of having the new game come out as great as possible. I know some can't wait for the next entry (same for me really), but I rather wait for a bit more.

It'll come.

Easily. I mean, they did win the DLC elimination game by a fair margin.

Although F&F proved to be a good 2nd. Many like it, but heists were long promised and came during an era when the game wasn't as buggered with nagging calls or lessening options like public only.

My thoughts at least. Many were blown away at the initial announcement of DDH through genuinely believing no more heists could come here that far into this game. (Not that DDH was flawless mind).

The latter, easily. Seeing R* and Take2's business practices in recent years, combined with clear anti-consumer practices and lazy duct tape solutions to certain problems with their games (cheaters in GTA Online? Ban all mods! License for 100 songs in GTA IV ends? Cut them all from all copies, doesn't matter when purchased, and ignore GfWL carcass in the files) made me doubt I will purchase their future products. Besides, release of GTA 6 means nothing to me, since what matters to me more than having a new game is its quality.

At least with few good updates for GTA Online, I'd have dozens of hours of genuine fun. New clothes and hairstyles would refresh my experience a bit, new vehicles like the sweet Audi S2, RX-7, Scirocco or classic 911 would be great additions to my collection, mansion would be my new center of operations, I'd play some new heists which contrary to Doomsday Heist aren't unbalanced pieces of filth with aimbot bulletsponges, etc.

Better good expansions for what I have, than an unknown variable I doubt I'd even purchase.

GTA VI. The next console around the corner argument is not enough for me because frankly it's not important with modern console development cycles.  Let's face it, PS4/XB1 are still going to be around for 3-4 years and will pull the progress down, while Pro and X are already good enough to support the next version. If V with Reshade is going solid 60 on 1080 Ti FHD with 50-60% GPU utilization, it's good enough to be played on X/Pro.

I'm not at all convinced that waiting will actually lead to a greater game, by the way. I just don't see any reason behind it, because of Star Citizen jokes. We're overdue for a new game and hardware is already good enough. I'm ready to pay for the new product as I was ready to pay for DLCs with all the content I want like I do in Forza series.

i would take gta 6 over 3 dlc any day.

i hope that because gta online is a "separate" game we don't get a whole new online in gta 6. just a massive overhaul of updates, new map, graphics etc... but it wont happen. i wish it would though.

I'd go with either. There's still plenty of things I want in GTA Online, but at the same time I want a new game, because I'm sort of getting tired of the same old sh*t, mainly the grinding in particular. I probably just self-contradicted myself, but whatever.

The main reason I would like to see VI rather than more DLCs is the fact that we're not getting a new map with all these DLCs. I can have any car I want with the mods on PC, but I can't have a detailed, alive world only R* can create.  And even if we do get the new island, that won't fix the core game issues like p2p connectivity, bad sync, dominant strategies based mechanics, mediocre controls, primitive and outdated AI.

We deserve better than all this. Looking at RDR 2 I'm not sure that R* can deliver, however: online is less detailed, no passive mode, p2p is still there. There is a bright side: I've heard that the player blips situation in RDRO is now better than in GTAO.

No flying bikes or cars or lazer guns i think they have learned that lesson and will exclude them from the next game or nerf them heavily, they are bad for the in game economy and obscelete other vehicles such as the hunter, savage, avenger any weaponized plane, apc, tank, armored cars etc when vehicles get obscelete people stop buying them and therefore wont spend sharkcards to buy them also they move too quickly and missiles or guns are ill effective against them not to mention they have way too many ruiner missles up to 20-30 and the other vehicles have sh*t missiles with terrible tracking that self destruct too quickly .arena war vehicles are realistic in terms of style and functions minus the jump ability and shunting but they are all balanced and arent to overpowered against others hopefully it will stay like this. Looking back in the past nerfs arent out of the question nethier are buffs the rhino was nerfed at least twice so why dont they do it to vehicles now and buff vehicles like the buzzard needs mk2, ruiner 2000, rhino tank, b11, ahnihalator needs mk2, apc and kuruma, etc. it could benefit them and everyone else

obviously had THAT one in mind but in the bigger picture, 2015 wasn't as intense as the period i described. heists was pretty much an exception. everything before was really small and most of the dlc from heists to finance and felony were not too remarkable (lowriders with the story was a nice touch though)

The DLC here, easy choice too.

Seeing how little choice in playstyle RDRO has only saw me just give up on it. I'd love a new R* story mode, but with regards to the online aspect, I just dislike how a beta added gold to be bought before listening to the requested player feedback. Friendly lobbies or invite only, and all but 8 missions of PvE are out. It's too PvP based and I don't like being forced in an open world on how to play.

This game spoilt me, and I believe I'm a part of the 'problem playerbase' as I'm a 'freeloader' I'll pass on the new one until I see my playstyle is equally enabled unlike what seems to be their direction now. If solo public didn't exist or was removed from GTA:O, I'd have quit this long ago I feel too.

Great question though, but an easy choice for me. I understand folk want something new, I do too, but RDRO and this with public only are the way forward so not for me. :)

I don't think you're in any way part of the problem playerbase. Because you either have kids or in the age where you definitely can or according to some 'should'. And the problem playerbase is actually underage kids with access to their parents wallets. On paper, parents are playing this game, but in fact it's their kids. And people at R* are well aware of that, IMO.

Another part of the problem is desperate fixation on borrowing the ideas from Fortnite/ PUBG styled games, ignoring the strongest part of the GTA: unique open world. That's the reason I'm ignoring most game modes confined to the closed spaces: it neither feels good (controls) nor looks good (graphics). Arena war is a disaster in that matter, it looks absolutely awful because the lighting really makes this game, plays idiotic since there's no actual deformation and ruins at least half the fun. Just look at the video in the spoiler to understand how it should be done and why it's better to be in the standalone game.

@hei3enberg Oh yeah, there's no question Wreckfest does demolition derbies the best. I agree it's dumb how your car mostly just gets scratched up a bit before it blows up from a fatal blow. I'm sure if we get the Bloodring back (which I want no matter what), it will be the same thing where it's mainly about your health bar, and not the actual condition of the car. Even the Crew 2, whose damage engine was always kind of awkward, made it work pretty nicely with their King Of Mayhem DLC.

It's about to become worse. Far worse.

Everyone is focused on the "well griefers won't be able to see me on the map, I'm safe".

What about the fact that you can't see them? What if someone's blip isn't darkened and they're within striking distance of you?

Secondly, you won't be able to tell if a butcher is occupied / surrounded by players, or if your favourite haunt is either, until you get there.

You have no way of knowing until its too late.

Definitely see what you mean in terms of how Arena War could be better and R*'s insistence on copying other games rather than being a trend setter instead. Can't stand Fortnite etc but it is all the rage, and pitting us against each other has grown to become a real turn off. Personally I enjoy the arena games, but it killed my progressive gaming side of things, level 1000 in AP there can kiss my ass, lol. That's crazy stuff, and random trade prices with no direction that included all the clothes, pass!

Also get your point re: irresponsible parents too. I know a few IRL, lol. I let my lad play, but won't ever just leave him to it on a game like this. I know some aren't keen on kids here, but I assure you I'm in control there. (No public, no mic, no stripclub, no cards etc. He watches me heist and stuff but I'd never leave him to play unsupervised I mean). But I was more referring to the leaked meeting threads we had where R* consider GTA:O undermonitised and those that don't buy cards are the freeloaders, lol. RDRO is showing to not welcome choice or more passive gaming. Very frustrated with that game and haven't played since 2 weeks after release as it's just not a game for me.

Since RDRO went directly for gold sales over gameplay additions and flexibility or choice, my faith in the next GTA:O took another huge hit. Flying cars and bikes, emphasis on interrupting others etc. all contributed but we can avoid all that here really. I fear the next one just won't be this flexible or choice driven over their need to satisfy shareholders and grab cash by keeping it as hostile and daft with content that kids and adults alike do pay for IRL.

Sad thing is, there's so much potential for both franchises to appease all playstyles, such a waste, IMO.

In short, if RDRO is the way forward, it's game over for me. But I am well prepared as I bought many other games and still enjoy my GTA:O here, lol. (Soz to ramble)

Same here. I'll check the SP when it drops on PC but Online? No chance. Honestly, I'm interested in VI for the same reasons: since R* will probably delay the PC release, the sooner this things is out the better.

Oh, and about parenting, I totally get you. I started playing GTA around at the age of 12, there was no online and I'm sure the experience was more positive than negative, so I'm not against kids playing the game. I'm against this hypocrisy about the age.
