While I don’t have any well thought out DLCs or add- ons like some of the other posters, I do have some thoughts regarding Armadillo and it’s emptiness.

On one hand, I can see where the developers may have left it desolate to allow players and posses to occupy the town and run amok or do whatever they want to. As a friend pointed out, you are told at the beginning of RDR that for the past few years the town has been dealing with hooligans and such (paraphrasing obviously).  So perhaps that what R* has given us, an empty, relatively lawless space in the middle of nowhere where individuals and posses can go wild and do whatever. After all, it’s not like there’s anything else to do there. And  such wild shenanigans would kind of fit in with the future story as we know it.

On the other hand, I’d like to see an add on bring some of those shady elements in the form NPCs, new missions and what not. Instead of seeing armadillo fill up with just griefers and such, Id like to see maybe a couple of gangs move in to take over while the town is empty and players get thrust into the middle of a gang war. Think “Last Man Standing” with Bruce Willis). Of course this will also remind us of the grey v braithwaite feud. Maybe in this scenario we have an initial mission with a choice that sets you down a path working for one against the other with an opportunity for a double cross later. Maybe the side you work for has some perks. Of course, this means the other side will be hostile to you. And once you’ve complete the mission line, a way to do again from other side, maybe spend a (1) gold bar to reset relations to neutral.  I don’t know, just spitballing here.

Or perhaps a “dusk till dawn” theme. You come into armadillo and the bar is something like the “titty twister” in that movie. Stay after dark and you’ll be battling hordes of vampires till morning. Undead nightmare 2 maybe.

Again, I’m just throwing stuff out here. Does anyone else have any ideas for how we might be able to use armadillos emptiness in other ways, either add ons or otherwise?

Really, an excellent job pulling this all together. This would be a game changer for sure. Even a portion of this would be great.  A few more things.

*should be able to pitch a small personal camp nearly anywhere aside from camp.

*need more challenges that make sense for big accomplishments...like some of the challenges in story mode. Examples:

Eat one of each type of plant

Kill one of each bird type

Kill one of each land animal type

Catch one of each fish type

    Create a solid gold weapon

    1000 stealth kills

Clear (#) of gang hideouts without being spotted.

Journeyman-ride from annesburg to rathskeller fork in (#) minutes

Mountain man - spend 10 in-game days in northern ambarino mountains.

      Catch 1000 fish

These need to unlock something other than belt buckles like warpaint for your face or special bandanas

Need customization for belt buckles from challenges (different colored metals for the overall buckle itself, and metals for the icons within the buckle)

Need pipes to smoke in game (animations are there already)

*Instruments- Here are some ideas for instruments overall.

*when at camp with posse members, you can select a specific tune you want to play. Then posse members get the option to "play along" with a different instrument but it will be synchronized with the song you are playing. (Example- I'm picking on a banjo to a tune of my choice- buddy starts in on harmonica, another joins with a mouth harp....so cool. But as stated before, playing should be guitar hero-ISH. (Quicktime).

Intruments already in game that would be great.

*harmonicas

*mouth harp

*banjo

*guitar

*washboard

*spoons

*humming

*tambourine

*trumpet

POSSE MISSIONS/HEISTS

These posse specific missions would be launched at camp and the type of job will depend on how many posse members are available at comp to partake. The more posse members required for a job, the higher payout per player(This is also a great reason for players who normally dont socialize much to recruit posse members)

Upon starting these heists, the posse leader will assign specific preselected roles for each member to perform. During the mission, the mission objective for each player will differ depending on role assigned.

Position examples could include: *Safecracker(guess what he does?)

*Gunman(may need multiple)

*Support Gunman (privide sniper cover, fend off and warn of incoming lawman, mans maxim guns/cannons)

*Driver (stops trains, drives coaches, brings horses (somehow)

MISSION Examples

*Train Robbery - This would require at least 5 players to partake. 2 Gunmen to clear train, a safecracker, 1 support gunman, 1 driver to take out conductor and stop train.

*Bank Robbery - requires full 7 man crew and the highest reward.

2-gunman

2 support gunman

1 safe cracker

1 driver

1 additional person to add another to any roll, extra gunman, extra safe cracker for faster safe cracking.

*Stagecoach robbery- these come in different sizes and increase caravan size depending on number of players....

2player- simple coach.

3player- armored coaches with mounted gatling

4player- armored coach with additional riders

5-7player- Armored caravan of multiple coaches, and simple to military riders with additional riders incoming.

Ok so I need to stop before this gets any longer.

Poker games and the ability to rob said poker games. Which would necessitate needing to hire players to protect poker games. Which means being able to give money to players.

And now we have some Wild West ish going on.

In all seriousness, I would love to see some randomly-scattered underground tunnels and/or caves sprinkled throughout the map--more so than already exists.

They could be handy for losing lawmen, which (IMNSHO) turn a blind eye to players attacking other players, but when you attack NPCs, downright cheat on speed, firepower, and sheer numbers (sound like GTA Online?).

A few patches of quicksand could also add some variety to the landscape and hazards to tactically use and/or avoid.

Minigames, at the very least five finger fillet, and heists. I don't care if they're seamless free roam heists or full on missions, but I'd like old-fashioned heists. That one guy's line from the story missions about a "bank they wanted to rob" gets my hopes up we'll get to rob one when/if we get more story missions.

I know some of the people I ran with on GTAO loved Survival and they were disappointed when they stopped dropping new ones. So not only bring Survival into Red Dead Online, but maybe a Survival Creator so they don't have to always have to drop new ones. They could let us create new ones within some rules of course, because I don't want cheesy matches. Then add the Created Survivals along with the ones provided in a Survival Series where for those of us who want to smoothly go from Survival to Survival to do so. As far as clothing and gear

Ponchos with frills(most do) and chaps with frills: Please bruh please

Native American traditional clothing and headgear(For Players and NPCs):

I would like to see maybe companion options. Like dogs. They could help hunt, retrieve prey, attack prey, hostiles, ect. I'd also like to see property options. Buy land, build houses from a catalog, barns, fences, customizable interior options like hinted on Story Mode. And to make it so you actually have to build, not just buy and boom it's all built, like how we had to do with John in Story Mode. Would keep us entertained and trying to progress out property. Would also like to see Livestock Auctions where we could purchase animals for our properties or to take to auction to sell. Would have also liked to see more interaction with Native Tribes. Hostile Tribes, Friendly Tribes, trading or even fencing posts. I think R* really missed the mark on RDRll not having alot of this in game.

I would also like to see them add an option on splitting the cost of items. If I do not have enough cash for an item, let me use some gold to pay the difference.

Like others here have already said.. Prefix above player name & rank, Passive Mode and/or Friendly Lobbies (like in RDR1) and being able to Prestige (like Legendary ranks in RDR1).

We need FreeAim-only (Hardcore) showdown series modes. The current situation with normal (automatic) aiming causes matches to be fast-paced. All it needs is someone to re-spawn behind you 20 meters away and before you know it, you're dead from a rifle's shot to the head. Even taking cover and strategizing your shots become meaningless, so you're forced to keep running and shooting whoever is closer to you. If you get shot while sprinting, you'll more likely get killed since whoever is shooting you has the crosshair locked on you, so retreating and taking cover to see where the shot is coming from becomes useless.

We also need a classical Shootout mode where the number of kills determine the winner, but this one will only perfectly work in a FreeAim-only mode in which player's dots don't show up on the map, so the use of stealth and path-planning become useful. There's a lot to be desired for players who prefer free aiming and slow-paced matches.

-The vaudville theatres/shows.

-Being able to stay in hotels/ order food/ and bathe.

***The ability to control the make up intensity like in GTAO...and more makeup choices (I know it's  1898 but I'm sure they were more choices than just rosey cheeks.)

And all that other missing stuff from single player.

"Totally agree with this.  This is better than a "NON-MINIMAP" Free roam lobby.   Players blips should only show when firing weapons that are loud...or making any other audible noises that would enable you to know they are there other than sight.

THIS GAME WOULD BE 1000000% Better without these blips constantly making you look to see if someone is coming. Or being able to find someone on the other side of the map....that's bullsh*te. If I cant see you-I shouldn't know youre there. If you want a friend to be able to find you with the map so you can group up or whatever, FIRE A WARNING SHOT to let your blip be seen. This would also put a huge dent in all the Griefers out there also.

I agree with the no blips on the map! I hate that other players can see me when they are in Saint Denis and I'm in Valentine.

What about a deeper honor/dishonor level?

Good honor players will have no blips on the map, neutral (white) and dishonor (pink) will.

Killing dishonorful players will not count as bad honor.

On the other hand, dishonor players can use the fence for higher sell prices of stolen items (up to 300%).

This way dishonorful playing is discouraged, but you still get a bonus if you decide to be dishonorful.

Perhaps add bountyhunts for npc and npc gangs.

Face it, people, Rockstar will never do anything that bothers griefers because this game (as much as GTAO) revolve around the idea of f*cking each other. It makes tryhards happy as they feel they're skilled for taking on players who don't want to fight or aren't even paying attention and increases the ammount of purchased gold bars(tm).

This game and GTA Online would be way too good if it was slightly tweaked and favored teamwork and passive lobbies.

By the way, are futuristic DLCs out of the question or we can agree it's just a matter of time? And I'm talking about

Spoiler

time travelers in Story Mode

I'm expecting some steampunk sh*t coming later on. Of course, if this game is still popular in a year.

a few things i thought about that would be fun.

1.-  A big leather whip (to hit people with, not the horse)

2.-  The possibility to tar and feather someone (like the mugger on GTAO only here you will only look stupid in tar and feathers for lets say an hour)

3.-  I wanna be able to buy and play the mouthharp! (pweong poing pwang poing)

4.-  Reining (western riding competition)

5.-  Horseball (yes that realy is a thing) (2 teams  try throwing a ball trough a hoop on horseback).

Maybe to keep the game rolling for years, time passes year on year, characters have to adapt to changes, invention of the internal combustion engine and moonshine runs through to gangster run Chicago type settings up to modern day.  Would kind of bring it to the start of GTAO.

If they brought this kind of longevity to the gameplay then I would consider microtransactions possibly worthwhile

I was playing a horse race series earlier today and I got an idea for more mini games..

Chasing Cans also known as Barrel Racing in an arena. It's a race type that is a 3 barrel pattern (look up specifications for barrel placement info like that of the National Finals Rodeo). You run it in a cloverleaf pattern (you can choose to start left or right barrel first) in the fastest time possible without knocking a barrel over and crossing the start/finish line (or entry gateway). Knocking a barrel over adds 5 more seconds to your final time. I believe that yhey could definitely do this with the horse mechanics we have that can turn on a dime.

Reining, Western Dressage or Western Pleasure but you would need a more bonded and skilled horse for this.

Pole bending - Pole bending is another race type that involves 6 poles and base a few feet apart that your horse weaves through twice before finishing. Start: You begin by running your horse down either the left or right side til you reach he last pole, you then start weaving through all poles twice. Once completed you must hurry to the finish line or entry gateway to get your final time. A knocked over pole results in a 5 second penalty.

Bareback bronc and saddle bronc riding. (Slightly different tack wise) You must complete this by exiting a sideways chute when the gate opens and balancing and staying on the broncs back for 8 seconds. If you fail to stay on you get a "No Time" or "NT".

Bull Riding (same concept as broncs)

I love Rodeo events and would love of they decided to add these plus more, possibly. I aee alot of possibilities for a fun time!

Oddly enough, companion pets (ala Far Cry 5) do work well, and can be a lot of fun. Was one of the few things I liked about Far Cry 5, as limited as it was in terms of sheer game play variety.

Would also be nice to see some kind of reward-based mystery--but much harder to solve (ala GTA Online) that would reward the person who finds and pieces together various clues scattered throughout the map. Something that requires research and a lot of detail.

Back again with a few more ideas.

Someone mentioned this and I think it is a good idea so I wanted to add it. Bull/Bronco riding. Could have players enter into a Bull riding event or Bronco riding event. Top 5 places win certain amounts of money/gold bars and/or limited belt buckles specific to these events. How about griefer hangings or the option to arrest them and throw them into jail? Or how about Wagon races? Moonshine runs? Npc Indian raids? This is the Wild West right? Where are all the Native Americans?? Npc posse raids in towns and in saloons. Bank/train robberies, both Npc and Player.

I like this idea, but to add to it. Allow us to have both Large and Small on the snow area(Ambarino I believe). Then on top of that allow us to pick which game modes in the showdown series that we want to  do and put together a series/playlist for those modes(EX: Team Shootout Playlist, Most Wanted Playlist, Name Your Weapon Playlist, etc). Each game mode should have multiple maps of different climates with weather changes during the matches. Adding the ability to extend timed matches out for longer time periods.

It bothers me a little about how empty the Saloons are right now and the fact that we can't play Ragtime music on the piano in the Saloon. So I wouldn't mind an add on for this.
