Hoping that Players can't pinpoint us at will

...like in GTAO that showed players where you were at virtually all times. I feel like a wanted level mechanic similar to what we've seen in the map leaks, but a different color signifying that a different online posse hit an area/town/etc would be awesome. We shouldn't just be given the ability to essentially GPS tag all the other players.

What do you think?

I think you should not be shown on the map unless you are wanted. An interesting mechanic to me would be to have the wanted person visible on the map when NPCs spot them, so if they run around in a city, the NPCs will obviously see them and they should show up on the map.

The online would truly be fantastic if they turned blips off permanently or atleast has some sort of realistic mode. I literally could be playing RDR2 for years with that mechanic.

That would be awesome. Also would allow people to just blend into the streets and make online feel more immersive. Would also eliminate any kind of need for a passive mode they had in GTAO.

This is one of my main wishes. I've always wanted to have this in GTA online too (hiding in plain sight, in traffic, driving an NPC car...) Sure, you could be visible to your friends and as mentioned, if you cause havoc or get wanted, it would make your blip visible or at least would show a circled area on your map, with "dangerous activity"

Probably not popular among k/d... people, etc, so better to have this as an option to maintain the games popularity -> support.

Lonely-Martin

I could ramble here, lol. But yes, 100%.

I'm open minded to how, but so much could happen that'll see more aspects appeal to me at times if R* do address many complaints GTA:O showed over time.

Otherwise it'll either reduce the gaming by lone wolfing it all as best as or just not getting stuck in like I did to begin with over there when we had more choice and less of a simple way to compromise others so easily long term, seeing me just give up before I begin.

Basically others aren't on radar except a flash of last location if they get up no good, and some safe spots if public only is the way as I don't want to be on guard 24/7. (Team/friends/crew show up for co-op though).

I want the Mental State to come back but instead of your blip transitioning in color it should fade in and out. It give me a reason to bully aggressive players.

I think totally blipless is a step too far, but I'd love to see a system that falls somewhere between total stealth and GTAO's total radar exposure.

Maybe distant player's blips can be fully visible so that you can get a sense of what's going on and where people are in the session, but as you get closer to somebody and enter "engagement range" the rules switch to a more Deathmatch style where your radar visibility is based on things like line-of-sight, movement speed, gunfire and other noise generated etc.

Combine that with modified rules for players with bounties on their head, active NPC lawmen in pursuit, perhaps some kind of non-radar Tracking skill and I think things could be pretty interesting.

You shouldn't show up on the map. PERIOD. If people wanna find you because you committed a crime, let them do it the old fashioned way. Not by using some satellite tracking GPS map in the 1800s.

Yep, no blips on radar please.  This is the wild west.  Radars didn't exist.  If I'm camped out in the wilderness, I don't expect someone to travel in a straight line direct towards me.  They should only be able to find me if they come across me.

Example:

If I’m wanted, and I walk into a shop, saloon, etc. The NPC bartenders & shop keepers would remember me visiting and other players could question them about which direction I road out of town. What kind of horse I was riding, etc. Doing so would reveal my trail just like tracking in RDR2’s storyline.

- News Papers could have clippings about the wanted outlaw who came through town.

- Harmless NPCs that we pass by during our travels could unknowingly become witnesses to our Where abouts.

- Tracking dogs could be used to pin point out exact location. (we want tracking dogs Rockstar)

- Tracking ability. The more we level up our tracking ability, the stronger our tracking senses get.

- Stealth. Maybe the higher our Stealth stat is, the less we are revealed on the minimap?

Wanted Posters. If we are wanted and there’s are posters of us hanging around town. Other players could carry them and question other NPCs if they’ve come across us.

Can we pay our own bounty to rid our selves of or pursuers?
