DeathMachine15
Title. Do you still own GTA 3? What are some of your favorite things about this game? How do rank it among other GTAs? I'd rank it ahead of GTA Vice City and GTA 5, but behind all of the rest. I prefer this game over Vice City mainly due to the mission variety and map design, as it is bigger and has a gloomy atmosphere. My only complaint is, of course, the characters leaving their fates ambiguous due to this being the last in the 3d universe timeline.
Evil empire
I bought GTA 3 9 years ago and I still play regularly. I love the gore mode, the street wars, the diversity the city offers. I find GTA Vice City and San Andreas are better although 3 also has its specific advantages. Edited October 30, 2018 by Evil empire

Lioshenka
Still have it. Mainly play on PS2 and iPhone, but have the Snow Mod installed on PC and play it around Christmas time. I rank it very close second favourite, after SA (followed by GTA VC, GTA 5 and GTA 4). I think this is the most realistic game out of the series, or rather, realistic enough before becoming a burden. I love the atmosphere and the colours, I love the era, I love the fitting music. A true masterpiece. And little things like music playing from Walkmen, steam coming up from the manholes... What could be better than walking down the Portland Island prom (or any other part of it really) at night in the rain? Nico
GTA III is a game that I discovered somewhat late, back in '08. I had already played VC and SA by that time, and was eagerly waiting for IV to come out for PC as a console was out of realm for us a decade ago. I still remember some commentaries a classmate once told me about it, like how in the beginning of the game you have to "escape prison". I spent a couple of months in 2008 completing the game for the first time, and also did some odd things like learning how to fly the Dodo. At some point I mastered it and managed to get past 4200 seconds of flight. Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder... ...why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?
FadeAway
It was the first game to move away from aerial view and an introduction to other games that would be better (flying a heli, etc.). I love the quirks of the game with the random pedestrian chatter and squish sounds and noises when you'd run them over. They were a part of the fun. The craziness of Maria, the brashness of Toni and elegance of The Leone Family. While with some of the difficulties of missions and gameplay, I loved Triads and Tribulations. I don't have the game anymore nor my PS2, but I have the original Vice City and guide. lll will hold a place and some of the music, I didn't start a mission until it ended. The atmosphere was fitting in general. It was a game in that era and modern for its time then. I'd likely prefer it over VC mainly because of the older setting of VC. Arsen Vitiuk
A really belated "Happy Birthday", but still. I used to make these topics every year back in the day, so I am not going to miss an opportunity to wish all the best to all those who still play and for everyone who did not to find some time to try out and enjoy this game. It's strange, looking back, how much time and how many moments in my life were interconnected with this game during the years. Although I stopped playing GTA in 2016, before then, it was a significant part of my leisure, and GTA III was right there at the top, closely followed by VCS. And although I possess both the original PS2 and Steam PC version, I prefer the former, to play it the way it was originally intended to be. Not to mention the iconic "O mio babbino caro" that was explicitly missing from all other versions. Besides, PS2 is somewhat more challenging, in terms of rare vehicles spawning even more seldomly on Portland, not to mention the somewhat mediocre M16 and Sniper Rifle aiming controls, while at the other times, more easy, with fewer fences and objects spread around that will hamper your movements. I still enjoy the game, even to this day, when I at times return to play it. Brings back a lot of memories, good ones, and I believe there are more memories to be made in the future. Long live GTA III! DeathMachine15, Parik, GTAGuy1995 and 4 others

Asmodo
I first played GTA III in 2001 when I was 13. For my teenage self it was like losing my virginity before I actually lost it lol. It was amazing. I don't think I have ever been blown away by a game so much before or since. I still play it from time to time and rank it higher than the rest. Not just because of nostalgia but because of its historical value. Reyiz Kovan
