FairlyRookie
Hi there, I would like to address my problems regarding installing mods to the hydra in GTA San Andreas. Please forgive me and guide me if this is the wrong place to post this. I'm new here. I am fairly new into modding cars and weapons in GTA SA. I only know the basic -replace .txd and .dff files for car mods in gta3.img and making modifications to the vehicles, carcols and handling files. They work perfectly ok. But whenever I try the same with a hydra mod, something weird happens. I replace the .txd and .dff files as instructed by the readme files and open the game, spawn the hydra just to find that it is kind of... broken. The wheels are always kinda tilted at an angle and although the retraction feature works, the animation does not show. The mod itself seems to work perfectly but looks a little less aesthetic (?) Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing out something? Any help will be appreciated. Also as mentioned before, please guide me if this is not the right place to post this. LaDiDa
It'd be easier using modloader. Just place the .dff, .txd and readme with the handling lines and such in a folder that's within the modloader folder. That way you ensure you didn't make a typo of any sort. ZAZ
1. test it with the original handling line and with the original vehicles.ide line of hydra what happens? 2. test it with the handling line and with the vehicles.ide line of hydra that came with the mod what happens? if both don't help, then there's something wrong with the mod either with handling line or with the vehicles.ide line that came with the mod or with the model itself give link to the mod download Edited October 22, 2018 by ZAZ FairlyRookie 1 CLEO MODS CLEO Script Tutorial

By following LaDiDa's suggestion, also include the mentioned script, it should come with your replaced plane or mentioned in the Readme file of the same. FairlyRookie
On viewing the replies, I can understand that I do need to install cleo and load the mentioned scripts for the animations. Silly me, thought I'd still get it to work without those! Thank you for making me understand that. Why I have not installed Cleo is another topic. I'll make a post about it soon, just some errors I've been encountering on my new PC. I'd also like to know, is there any hydra mod available that does not use the "al_planes.cs" script? Usually the ones I download do. Once again, thanks a lot for the clarification MysterDogg, and LaDiDa I'll be sure to check out the modloader. As for ZAZ, I know you've tried best to help but unfortunately it was me who delivered incomplete information about the mod. Sorry for that part and thanks a lot for the suggestions! I think that mods made before 2012 don't use it since it seems like that specific script was made that year. I don't know if that's true since I don't know the releasing date of the script but you can always compare by yourself. Go to GTAInside or any other modding webpage and check the airplanes made before that mentioned year.
