Edit old topic with a new account

I used to have an account here years ago but I don't remember my password, don't have access to my old E-Mail and in general can't login. I made a new clean account, I also used to have a topic which I want to update again after 2 years. It's an old Project from which I lost my files and I had to stop updating the topic back then. Lately I found some backup files and I started working on the Project again. So I want to update the mod topic again with the new account if possible, because I don't want to spam the forum with duplicate topics. Here is the old topic: https://gtaforums.com/topic/817477-gta-kavala/. Is it possible to edit that old topic with my new account at all? Or should I start a new topic?

The OP of a topic can only be changed if the account has posts made before the thread was created - since your account was created after, you won't be able to take control of/edit the topic unfortunately; it's a limitation of the forum software.

I unserstand. So I guess I will have to open another topic. Since the old one is inactive and without content, you can lock it.Thanks for the reply.
