Game Freezes, Then Closes or Ejects Everyone from the Lobby

I haven't seen people talking about this in the past, so part of me wonders if this is specific to me, or if this is a genuine community-wide problem.

Lately, I've been getting a lot of problems with regards to public lobbies randomly freezing for no apparent reason. The game freezes for approximately one minute, before doing either of two things;

1) It will unfreeze, then simply close the game. I managed to capture this on video.

2) It will unfreeze, then kick everyone else out of the lobby.

I first started noticing this happening while playing the Business Battle freemode events (as captured in the video), but it also seems to occur while aimlessly driving around the map.

Anyone know what's going on? Here is the launcher.log file from the documents area: https://pastebin.com/VZQcYbMz

Edit: Just happened again. Not sure if the log is different, but I've grabbed it just in case: https://pastebin.com/YjEBw0Ay

What sort of system specification do you have?
Does the problem only pertain to GTA Online, or does it also happen in GTA V (single player)?
Does the problem occur with any other games which utilise the CPU and GPU on the same sort of level that GTA does (a lot)?

Just wondering if part of your hardware is failing or overheating (as GTA Online does stress the system out a bit more than GTA V) or whether it's some new tool / mod menu function that can cause this erratic behaviour.

On a side note, it's interesting to know the posts I make in this section are 99% of the time helpful, aimed at addressing whatever help and support topic people have, yet certain members of the community only show up in here, seemingly to find fault in my comments without contributing themselves. GG.

A10-7890K with 16 GiB DDR3-1600 (gimping the iGPU, I know, but I haven't had the chance to buy new RAM just yet). Regardless, frame rates aren't the issue, and from what I can tell, nothing is overheating. The system is blowing out pretty cool air, barely just above the temperature of my hand.

It's only happening in GTA Online, and by an extension, only in the freemode lobbies. It's never happened during a heist, mission, deathmatch, adversary mode or race. I also don't mod, and have verified the install thinking that might solve it, but nope.

The closest I can think of where CPU and GPU load is simultaneously reasonable high, would be Project CARS 2 and BeamNG.drive. They don't give me any troubles, except for BeamNG when there are too many vehicles on-screen, but that's natural.

I don't know you man, but thank you for responding. I've been here for quite a while too, albeit mostly lurking. I was a lot more active when I was younger.

You didn't mention what GPU you used (like GTX 1080ti) but I guess it's not the problem.

If it's only happening in populated public sessions that contain people you don't know, it's probably another player with a mod menu causing the issues. There's nothing you can do about that sadly apart from avoiding them by only playing with a crew or friends, or in a solo public session.

Sorry about that. The CPU is an APU, and I'm using the integrated graphics. It runs the game pretty nicely for me, I just need to invest in faster memory to get even more out of it.

It's hard to say whether that's the issue or not. Of course, it being a public lobby, there's no real way to know if someone is modding with the exception that they might get caught doing it. That was the case at least once, but this has happened at least five times in the past two days.

Just a question, but is there anything from the log that you can make sense of, or would I be best talking to Rockstar about it (and hoping they actually help, which is part of the reason I came here instead)?

Both events had the same error on exit.

The 0xc0000005 error is a pretty generic O/S (Windows) code and won't be that helpful. The error code 107 is coming from the application though and would usually be more helpful when searching for others with similar issues.

The session was less than 40 minutes old so I doubt it was heat. It could be a memory issue, but I doubt it.

How often is this happening? Every freemode session or just sometimes?

How is your PC connected to the internet? e.g. Wifi, wired direct to router, wired to a secondary switch/hub?

I tend to suspect this is, as Gaffa suggested, 3rd party interference with your online experience. The "freeze" issue is certainly something I have heard of second hand as being able to be caused by certain mod users.

I want to say that it's happened at least 7–8 times since I started getting back into the game 3 days ago. It's not every freemode session, but it feels like it's most. I don't know whether that's because I've spent more of my time lately playing the Sumo (Remix) modes (and therefore not much time in a lobby), or whether it's because it's just commonplace.

I do have to say that my last freemode session, which was reasonably lengthy, was problem-free, so perhaps it really was just 'malicious' code on the part of other users. I've always known it was possible for modders to manipulate other people's games. I just didn't think it was that common.

My computer is connected via Wi-Fi, via a router with an external modem (UK FTTC).

I have seen it as well, almost always game closes to desktop (no crash, starts up as if it didnt crash) when im close to winning business battle and running back to club with goods, its more than likely butthurt mod users who press kill game function
