Viperman
However, I am thinking about having some pre-release downloads. First one will be once the bridges are made as I want them, textured with railings. Probably with the commentary tower in. Not sure how far off that'll be, should be before next month finishes though. uh.. isnt this project about what everyone wants, and not just you..? i dont know, i just make what cerb tells me to - [- No Fear. No Limits. No Equal. -] - - [- Ride For Life -] - Digging deep. It's not just an expression that's thrown around the locker room at halftime. It's a way of life. A daily code that drives a champions existence. It's not always glamorous. It's not always blue skies and sunny days, and its certainly not always welcome. But love it or hate it, to become a true champion take pure, unrestricted commitment.
BenMillard
However, I am thinking about having some pre-release downloads. First one will be once the bridges are made as I want them, textured with railings. Probably with the commentary tower in. Not sure how far off that'll be, should be before next month finishes though. uh.. isnt this project about what everyone wants, and not just you..? It takes one man's vision. I dedicate a lot of energy into making sure this will be a totally killer mod, that's why I've picked the best, most enthusiastic modders I've found to be on the team. You know me, I take great care in making sure what I do is good. The buildings I pick, the track I plot and the style I try and get across have all been deeply thought over by myself. I would think it unfair if I didn't dedicate myself this fully into the conceptual elements and then expect the rest of the team to dedicate themselves into the practical elements. Was there anything you wanted other than trying to have a but of a dig? Any buildings you think might work...I could probably sort out some stuff for you to make if you really wanted to. Viperman's figured out a perfect style for the pit lane, majestik is whizzing through the track, Ill's work on the pub is looking great, Freward (after some prodding) is making sterling work with the signpost system...Mewish has made some lurvly tombstones. My self-proclamined leadership role is clearly working.

BenMillard
Here's the latest bit of planning I've done: I worked out these are the only types of road we will be using on the track itself, driveways and stuff will be made to fit the scene. As for the actual plan of the track, it was near the start of the topic. I think I'd better update the first post, cheers for reminding me. EDIT- First post has been updated
ghost_master2000
I think what needs to be fixed for the bridge is to remove the sidewalks. Just put some barriers about a meter/ yard and a half from the edges of the outside lanes. there shouldn't be walkways anyway since there aren't any on the roads leading to the birdge. btw good work on the modeling job, we certainly do make a great team. I hope My freelance coding skills will be put to great use this summer . I always thought the saying was: Too many cooks spoil the broth And in this case it would mean that if there were more than one leader then there would be too many oppinions, and we would all get mad at each other. Opius
If any of the modellers are using 3DS Studio, a good way to add slopes to the track is to use a heightmap, applying it to an extrude modifer. Looks goody-o.
BenMillard
GM, in fact the UK bridges do have 3 or 4 metres of extra width on them. I think it's so that if a tall sided lorry falls onto it's side, it won't fall off the bridge maybe? Opius, that's precisely what Madge has been trying to get me to do. However, trying visualise the hieght it terms of contours is very difficult. What will probably happen is that once the bridge is drivable, madge and I will test out techniques of height mapping and applying them to the short stretch of road that leads straight off the motorway turn-off here. Hopefully he'll be able to teach me a decent way of expressing the height change I want, then we can use that idea everywhere.
Mark
Down in the South East, M25 regionish, any junctions similar to that usually have those barrier on the bridge extended on a bit. Try getting maj to fill in all the embankment to begin with. Also, the middle support of the bridge in my opinion is too wide. Motorway bridges are usually just huge concrete slopes that run flush with the hills of the embankment as the road comes over the top and onto the bridge, then usually two oddly shaped concrete pillars in the centre. If need be you can have other supports on the sides of the motorway.

Mark
I so wish i could help out on this. Unfortunately I'm not getting my decent PC til end of July, even then its not too good on funds, with my parents having to split everything down the middle and find homes, but anyway. How long is this going to take? When i get a decent PC up, I should finally be physically able to texture, my PC is too sh*t to allow any textures of any sort. I can model mind and have done a fair bit, but none of my work is releaseable for the aforementioned reason. I would so love to help on this, but i can't! arg

Don Mewish
If everyone out of the loop hasn't already noticed, I'm making random 3D objects for Majera. Mark
I think LCs weather suits Enngland better than VC. For starters theres no fog in VC . oooo which is a point. It'll be hard to do, but how about fog warnings on the motorway bit? that really would be class
BenMillard
OMG OMG OMG!! The flashy scrolly texty neon signy thingys! *falls over in excitement* In other news, Viperman is being taught by Jonny52002 how to get his models (like the memorial and commentary tower) into GTA3, sos that will reduce the collosal workload Majestik has to get through. Mewish seems good at textures; so he's gonna be making textures for the buildings Viperman has completed. Still looking good for a teaser release this month, if madge can live without sleep.
