best way to deal with griefers in my opinion is to hire them and make them hundreds of thousands of GTA$ riding the wave of CEO/Client jobs.     my success rate is pretty high at getting them on my side.   usually they've been watching me and my team rake in the cash while they fruitlessly try to get a job in edgewise, and they know where the money's at.    a good griefer on your side is worth his/her weight in gold.

 

a note on the Op Mk2 that i recently discovered:   on the CEO job 'Ramped Up' it lets you use the Mk2 to collect the crates, which means you're making @$40k in about three or four minutes.   sweeeeeet.

Imo to run over team mates during a contact mission/heist i.e could be considered griefing by R*, though destroying Cargo or consecutively kill in freemode someone aren't.

tbh griefers or tryhards are no real danger. 90 % of them will quit/switch session after ive killed them once.

 

especially these lazer griefer/tryhards. when ive shot down one of them by using lazer too you just have to wait 3 more seconds and youll get the message "xxxx has left the session"

 

im not a griefer or tryhard but i fight them when they attack people who just want to make their business and/or low level players.

 

 

e/ a small hint for low level players. you just have to ask for help in your lobby, very often youll get it. have seen it various times.

This is what tits me off because the line between what is and what isn't considered as "fair game" within the context of public lobby play is so muddled and confused. There are no defined rules, but what rules they seem to have are vague and contradictory. 

 

Blow up a player's hard-worked-for cargo shipment - okay (encouraged, even)

Blow up a player's personal car even though YOU pay the insurance and they can recall it almost immediately - not okay (bad sport)

 

Strafe the lobby with a personal Laser or Hydra causing untold mayhem for others - okay

Counter the personal Laser / Hydra with the explosive sniper - not okay (bad sport)

 

Block race ramps, tubes, drive backwards, ram other players off the track deliberately - okay

Leave said toxic race in search of more productive races - not okay (bad sport)

 

They don't know their arse from their elbow it would appear.

BS - it funds my game and I don't buy sharkcards so yes I will happily do missions, sell product, run a heist, anything... 

That's the thing that gets me the most that you guys think my entire game is just blowing sh*t up... it's not.

The whole thread is borderline trollish if you ask me, and yesterday we had a new guy who didn't post ANYTHING on topic, but which was tolerated by the mods, who even posted argumentative comments themselves. The fact is, there is going to be a lot of friction and squirming when discussing subject matter as sensitive as griefing, and the existence and continuation of this thread is a miracle in itself, although the conversation goes round in the same defensive circles over and over again which makes this thread a pretty tiresome read.

I have a question for you and stang. Why don't you pick on other griefers tryhard that play the game the same way you do? Is it because you won't have someone to text Lzzz to? I'm not assuming that both of you only grief weak players I'm speaking in general since most griefers and tryhards only come after weak ones and not people that will give them a run for their money. Most of you want competition why not compete against fellow griefers and tryhards like yourselves instead and leave everyone who does not want part of the online scumbaggery alone?

I found it very entertaining though, and to be honest, it's nice to see some confessed griefers offer their POV rather than just attack or look to be their way in game here (not all, but some have been fair). It's very interesting how we humans work I feel, what is grief, what is trolling, what is forum bullying. So much this one game/thread asks really.

Apologies, I've got quite a lot of work on today, and don't handle professional stress well. I read your quote as TL;DR Jenkiiii's post, but here is my much more important ramble below. I think it's the way you express yourself in a very garrulous, dismissive and rambling way.

I think I've spent too much time on this thread. I accept that griefers do it for fun and don't care about the consequences or who it upsets, and the more grief they cause the happier they seem to feel, which is hard to believe when I hear that coming out of the mouths of people who I know are 30-40 plus. We all grief from time-to-time, but it's not something that personally makes me feel happy, so I set myself limits and lines that should never be crossed, and that allows me to move on and play the game in a more enjoyable way.

Someone said griefers are not happy till they blow up someones cargo. This is just not true for me at least. I never seek out cargo to destroy. If Im already griefing and someone is dumb enough to get too close to me then yeah Ill take them out. But this is why R gave us ghost org, I cant kill what I cant see. If im occupied killing players in the city I wont stop to go up north just to take out someones cargo.

Griefers are not much different then some of you guys. Much like you guys I take much more satisfaction in killing other griefers, tryhards and sh*t talkers rather then blowing up someones cargo.

Idk about other guys but ofcourse I do not just grief 24/7 and I dont do it just to raise my k/d. I have completed just about everything in this game with both my characters.

 

Actually just the other day a jet was griefing the lobby. So I put a bounty on him and waited at the beach. He got me 2 times then I took him out the jet with my explosive rounds and I went to get a jet of my own, dude was in passive before I even reached my jet. So not all griefers play the same.

I disagree. I felt I was responding to an intelligent reader/poster and wanted to further discussion beyond the crap we've seen here in the last 24 hours or so. I never see my posts as more important than any others, weather I agree or not with its content. And of course, we all have bad days IRL and it can come out in other aspects of our daily lives, no apology needed, I've thicker skin than that, lol. Been there enough to know I'm far from flawless in that regard too. It wasn't dismissive either, far from it I felt. And I proof read it like you suggested, lol. I don't know what that other word means, ahh well.

Seems odd as I'm always seeing others put that before they post a long one, lol.

 

I accept I do post long posts, I prefer to be clear and not short cut my postings as it often lead to many assuming more, or less, of what it said. Some points need further clarification at times, after the Demonic days, more-so as I don't like folk twisting what I say and baiting me, not that I feel Jenkiii would of course, that's why I felt comfortable with it as it was. Personally I like to read more than just a quick half-ass line. But I get that some don't.

I looked at the rules of the game back when I started. Thing is, back then they did not do this public only bullsh*te. And since then no rules have been presented to me other than the regular "don't cheat" popup that shows on a regular basis on PC.

Nobody gains a thing/or looses way more than he gains. Quite litterally every fight in gta online freemode aside from bussiness battles.

2k and you increase a vitual number by 1. Thats about everything.

If you are after money you could gain way more by grinding yourself, if you are after kills you could get way more by participating in a deathmatch and using your combat skill to whipe the floor with your opposition.

Power fowards and centers are mostly paid to do rebounding and blocking which is an essential part of the game. By his logic it was up Blake Griffin to block shot and not part of his job.

 

 

While blowing up people crates and hardwork is a personal choice which is what he does.

If I remember correctly jezebelletooner created a thousand and one threads in a single day, 99% of them were locked mainly because he/she was figured to be trolling. For someone that only lasted 11 days on the Forum, they sure have made a lasting impression and clearly a worthwhile thread. 

 

Couldn't be a troll thread created by a troll to get everyone triggered, could it? Nah, people don't behave that way. Continue, it's amusing.

From what I have read from him and his POV  it does make sense in a way.

Player1-Why did you block my shot.

Player2-Well theres nothing in the rules that says I cant

Player1-But I worked my ass off and practiced all week

Player2-But youre the one who wanted to play fully knowing the rules of the game

Player1-You are right I should have taken a different approach
