Yeah, I read it now and it really is just tragic to see. I know we love our gaming Here, but hope nobody is in those dire straights.

Hopefully he'll get inspired after that show airs and helps himself, and his dad does less to enable it all too. Though get it as it's hard as a parent too to say no or boot the kids up the arse.

FAR. and couldn't get back to the guy in time. other things i do are surrounding afk people with a bunch of npc cars, blocking places with my moc and recently i've been shooting people with the up-n-atomizer whilst they're going at high speed,

Ha ha - locking noobs in the shops with a vehicle never gets old either.

the thing that bugs me about griefers is that they're all try-hards. every single one of them will be on the most op vehicle in the game because they don't have the skill to go around with a simple mg and sticky bombs

Griefers evolve bro. Mg and sticky bomb is so 2014.

good lord.    this thing is still going?    LMAO

somewhere in there i saw a question about how do griefers finance their griefing?    i do it through the passive growth of the bunker and the nightclub, while i hire as many associates as i can and relentlessly grief the entire lobby by non-stop running VIP / Terrorbyte jobs.     i especially enjoy getting lower-level guys on my team and watching them rank up, while they're cashing in.     i always seem to have that 5% discount in the shops, so i must be doing something right.

i guess it's usually more grinding than griefing, usually--when you think about it--but since those jobs all encourage audience participation the sh*t usually hits the fan at some point.     the REAL griefing is only an occasional fix that i just gotta have, and i admit that excessive alcohol consumption plays a role.

yes, *of course* i make my million-dollar+ sales in my own personal Los Santos.     and if you think that's cheating, then f*ck you and the horse you're feeding and brushing in that other stupid game.   lol.

You see, now this is clever trolling and quite funny. I do chuckle when amusing things like this happen to me.  It's far more imaginative and fun than mindlessly using an MKII or a jet to constantly blow people up.  Most of the time, people who do this are K/D farmers.

I had a guy in a chopper trolling me yesterday, but I played along. Eventually, I went to my yacht and he kept his distance. But I switched off defences and whilst he was flying over the city, I managed to keep hitting him with my heavy sniper (standard ammo). I had no idea I could hit things that far and cause damage! I somehow amazingly managed to take out his tail rotor and he crashed to the ground. I was astounded when it showed my name as the winning kill! He left the lobby immediately after 😂

Typical really. Likes to dish it out, but they can't stand it when someone gets one over on them.

I really do want to know why most griefers have the same physical getup. I understand the bp helmet/quad lens, the dark/camo clothes, the choice of weapons and vehicles.

I just don’t get the red eyes, ghost face makeup, and generally emo white/gray hair.

I don’t think I’m stereotyping as well. It’s strangely very, very common. And I honestly would like to know the thought process behind this.

(I live in Malaysia, so met quite a number of online players from the Middle East and Asia. Still the same getup)

It feels like there’s a bizarre cult of griefers and a hive mind behind it

Griefer myself, but without the emo setup. My guess here is that alot of those players watch tryhard youtubers who have this setup. Guess they just copy that look.

When I was new, I filled a small warehouse, and after a lot of time and money, went to sell about $1m sale I think.  I had no idea of the danger, and sure enough it didnt take long for my sale to get blown sky high.  I was so traumatized, I just sat there shaking I was so pissed.  But I learned to be smarter, gauge the lobby first.  Get a feel for hostiles, etc.  And since then I think I might have had a i/e car sale blown up here or there but thats it.  It really is part of the skill of the game to determine how safe it is to do a sale. I like it, its a total rush.

Now, as far as my grieving, I haven't really done it too mush, and I never EVER destroy someone's sale.  There are times, however that someone killed me for no reason or something, and then had the balls to run a sale later in the lobby.  In those cases I have totally destroyed their sale.  I'm level 370 now, and done everything and am pretty bored, so lately I have done some grieving for fun.  My favorite is gunning down the mod shop mechanic, and killing you while upgrading your car.   But for the most part,  I'm pretty peaceful.   The other day, I had a daily objective to kill 20 players.  I'm almost there with the 30 day daily objective award.  So, I just took my opressor mk2 out and went for 20 quick cheap kills.   People were pissed, and I'm sure I looked like a total asshat lol.

undoubtedly correct.

my male character has rocked the red demon eyes for four years now, with the goth eye makeup, and an outline matte lipgloss, because it's punk rock.  (any NPC on the street that shouts 'you look like a tranny!' as i'm driving around tends to find themselves under my wheels)    the hair is a dirty blonde like my own but without the gray, plus the sideburns and the small mustache/womb broom.   he's got leathery f*cked-up skin and a hairy back.    if there was a proper male-pattern-baldness hairstyle he'd look just like me, and i'd give him brown eyes.    typically he's dressed in all-black, including the scarf, but this is mostly because the best motorcycle helmets by far are the black ones with the black visors, and of course, who the hell wants to be lit up like a christmas tree when you're engaged in urban warfare?   my saved outfits do include some sort of camoflage color-scheme for most environments, as well.

my girl character looks pretty much just like Sylvia Saint, or as close as i could get her (blonde, blue eyes, pigtails, ruby lips).   She has more or less the same all-black biker outfit, and a selection of snow-white getups as well.    she's the one that'll take you down in a match of tennis any time you like, and look good doing it.

In a forced attempt to look edgy and unique they end up looking the same.

I was in my lobby and sold 4 MC businesses .  Was driving the last Western Bagger bike from my Weed Farm to LS when a person joins, immediately calls up their Oppressor MK II and b-lines straight for me.  I barely made it, I mean barely.  No joy for the griefer, I just stayed in the back of the truck the Bagger was in and I was immune from his rockets.  So his short attention span kicked in and he just floated away.  I went to my NC to contemplate selling my goods and I see he went straight to his facility...like I was born yesterday of course he was going to orbital cannon glitch me.

I mean they are so predictable, like moths to a flame.  Most of them are just not very bright.

They just wanna look intimidating. They wanna look like evil ninjas or some bullsh*t.

You know, I'm starting to think those guys are actually 12 years old.

Found a cargo griefier trying to blow up a low levels bunker sale and decided to grief the griefer.

Very little in this thread is even really griefing... Most of it is just plain old GTAO gameplay.

Yep, you got it. Its the same reason why they always have those edgy emo names like "xX_DarkMasterGhostKiller_Xx" and why they like to grief in the first place.
Or why they always have chrome/lime green vehicles with $ rims. At that age they just simply think thats the coolest thing ever but they don't realize that everyone is making fun of them.

Spoiler

I encounter someone like that every time I do Piracy Prevention or Fortified. Its fascinating how they always call that bike over and over and over again even if they die the same way each time. Its like they are mentally incapable of learning. Even a hamster or a cockroach would learn something after 60 ties...

As time goes by, and each new download seems to have ever more lurid and outlandish content, you can just see that Rockstar and Take Two are looking at games like Fortnite and the millions of kids playing it and thinking “We’ll have some of that thank you very much”

It's nice that they all have the same look. Makes them easier to point out and plan how to approach or avoid them.

They either have this super long name or some strange short one that's an abstract noun of some sort like "Wisdxm" or something.

Git gud or die crying lol, seriously free roam is FREE ROAM if you're in a public session with others then they're free to do what they want.

Don't want to be griefed then set up or find a friendly session, simple

FL is overrated now, most broomstick kd farmers just leave when I start it. Only works against fresh players who don't know already about it. Such a disappointement. jonahscrub attacks me and my random associate, try to blow up my Pick Up Insurgent Custom, fails at it ofc. Then leaves once he saw notification "protect turret vehicles". But still had fun with another, not a griefer neither a tryhard though, after being killed a couple of times on his broomstick he tried Khanjali, so switched to my Savage, while my associate was driving the FL.Ruiner and finishing the job. It was ok game.

Most of the are reliant on cheese and OP weapons, vehicles and tactics. Take those away from them and they either start to complain, go on an EWO loop, go Passive, leave or all of them.

It's rare seeing an actual competent griefer.

@Hécate-II is right. They vanish when you start FL.

This individual is the very definition of a griefer:

What's more amusing is that I totally flubbed my 180 lock and rolled in traffic (I blame the Scram). He could have easily dropped down to street level and finished me off.

Nope. The possibility of me respawning and getting a new Ruiner was too much I guess.

Another FL/10k bounty epic fail... IGN dude stays 1h30m in his appartment then finally left when he realizes I'm still around and still want kill him. The day after I've received the notification according which he has been effectively killed by a random guy.

Basicly he was farming kills near LSC while I was delivering a top range in cargobob near Zancudo. (and to make it clear, obviously was passive popping, he was a salmon dot)

Many will say "ah aha ha you wasted 10k for a bounty and 5k of proxy mines for nuffing..." well Idc about 15k really, that random session enjoyed like about 2 hours or more of total peace, so everyone generated a lot of money...including myself, I was even able to play several VIP job Airfreight without anyone trying to blow me up in my unarmed bob.

ok it failed technically, but...forcing someone to hide/leave is still a little victory.

The money does not matter, it's fake money literally. I will spend over 500k on average a day on ghost, ammo, and insurance and have much fun doing so and all that really matters to me is having fun.
