The entire map

They mentioned that the entire RDR 1 map is in but they didn't mention specifically Nuevo Paraiso. Hopefully it's not just New Austin.

I'm wondering how large the selection of revolvers and repeaters is, we've only seen the Cattleman, Double-action and the Schofield as well as the Semi-auto pistol as far as I can tell.

They said no such thing at all.

Well sorry if I'm wrong.

I don't speak Dutch but these are the two translations I've seen:

Yup! Upon inquiring with Rockstar I was told that the full map of Red Dead Redemption is also in this game, but that of course many more areas have been added. In the six hours that I played, I crossed only a small part of Blackwater and even that was gigantic. I did not meet those places because even six hours was not enough to see enough.

Yup! After asking Rockstar they told me the entire (!) map of Red Dead Redemption is also in this game, but that of course there are many more areas added. In the six hours I played I only got to see a small part of Blackwater, and even that was already gigantic. Six hours was not enough to see any of the other familiar places.

Either way, they are saying that they only saw a small part of Blackwater in six hours of play.....which is somewhat hard to believe! I suspect they got that wrong, and meant West Elizabeth or the Heartlands or something else. Which just calls into question their reliability slightly.

Can someone please do me a favor, as I am a respected member here and was happily a part of that pretty trustworthy LAW ABIDING church... Being back with the outlaws is kinda crazy and apparently someone said something regarding the map was already spoiled today. So I'm going to ask a question, for whoever has seen it already. The said place I wonder about will be put in spoiler just in case because ya know I'm actually considerate of others who may even have no idea what could be in this game from RDR1. Anyways.. could someone confirm to me if you already saw what I had been guessing all along that

Spoiler

Nuevo Paraiso...

Is in the game? Whole rdr1 map??

With all these startling revelations about the map and other things we've learned over the past few days, I'd like to repeat something I said a few months ago.

"And now you know where all the GTA Online money went."

Things could be lost in translation it happens. Like Vice City being called an expansion.

I can figure that out for you guys right now if you link me the source.

Well the article is here - http://www.insidegamer.nl/artikel/q-n-a-special-jouw-vragen-beantwoord-na-een-dag-red-redemption-2/

But the passage in question is this:

Zitten Armadillo en New Austin in de game?

Yup!

My literal translation:

Are Armadillo and New Austin in the game?
Yup! Upon asking Rockstar, they told me that the full map of Red Dead Redemption is also in this game, but of course many more areas have been added. In the six hours I played, I only wandered through a small part of Blackwater and even that was huge. I didn't come across those places
[referring to Armadillo and New Austin], because even six hours is not enough to see [those places].

So yes, the author does say "a small part of Blackwater". And yes, the author absolutely confirms that the full RDR map will be in the game.

I really don’t know how to feel about this, I hav explored rdr over and over, why they would put literally the same map? I’m not for it

So now that it’s claimed the full RDR map will be in RDR2, what are the chances they did that so we could get a “remastered” version rolled into the new game via a DLC expansion down the road.. hmmm

They give us the whole old map, along with a sh*t ton of new map (we have no idea the size except the leaked map, but obviously they've added more) and you're going to be ungrateful and complain? It's not going to be the same exact map you explored, it will be very different

Just like how los Santos in GTAV isnt the same as Los Santos in Saj Andreas, i highly doubt that the map will look the same. Im super excited to explore it once again.

Nothing spoilery but you can strangle people to death if you choose and the controller vibrates until it stops signaling their last breath.

I may go the whole game and never choke to death. Thats just too up close and personal for me. Blow them away, ok, hack with an ax, ok. Strangle them with that much detail.....too much. Not one of those crazies that likes choking during sex either.

No dount we're going to eventually have some story of kids too young to play this choking a sibling to death, and saying they learned it from the game. Damn I really wish parents wouldnt let their kids play these games. Not that Im wanting this new kill feature, but kids just cant properly process this much violent roleplay.

I'm beginning to wonder if Arthur is in fact a Pinkerton spy. He wasn't there for the Blackwater heist for some reason but was in Blackwater because the side mission, "The Man From Blackwater", begins because the man recognizes Arthur and you're forced to chase and silence him.

But then that also goes against his ideals and character. The gang is his family and all he's ever known with Dutch being more a father figure. Hmmm i dunno.

I hope not...and can't see it tbh, being brought up by Dutch when he was just a kid, the gang life is all he knows...who knows

R* please don't play us like that!

From Game Informer

. By the time we ran into John Marston in the original game, he had broken old alliances for the sake of his family. At this point at least, Arthur is a true believer, even if he is just as confused about how the gang got here as I am.

Yeah the more I was thinking about it, the less likely the scenario. lol

Well, If biggest part of the map is from the old game it just feels bit odd, I want to explore new areas

You've got to remember that, even if the old part is bigger(which i don't believe it is), it's going to look and feel different. Different graphics, different time period, different ways to interact.
