Forget the quadruple, I would be happy with one trophy and a top four finish. The good thing is we found ourselves 8 points adrift from both Liverpool and United in 13/14 and 11/12 seasons respectively with only a few games to go, and we won the title both times. So anything can happen. Though Leicester and Tottenham deserve it more

I didn't see much of the City match, but did catch the penalty call. Yeah, that was weak as hell as it wasn't really a handball, but I can see how the ref called it from his angle. To me, that only highlights the need for video replays on big decisions like these, and the refs should not be garnering all the blame and attention from those because no refs on Earth are going to be calling these games 100% correct on a regular basis. (not all that different from the Vardy penalty today, as well, in real time it looked like a stonewall penalty, but only in a slo-mo replay could I notice had Vardy had thrown his leg into Monreal's. Yes it was the wrong call but it's unreasonable to expect a human eye to catch these things all the time). Video replay is long overdue, and the game will be so much better when they introduce it.

That was a great game, although extremely dense. Thankfully, we managed to win without conceding, and it's nice to see Messi finally breaking the myth and scoring against Petr Cech, twice. The moment he took the penalty all I was thinking about was that missed penalty against Chelsea in 2012. Thankfully, it went in this time. Let's hope we won't stop our unbeaten streak in the second leg and manage to get a draw, although my inner hopes go beyond this a little, obviously.

Got our revenge on Midtjylland, and considering our change in defence, I was happy although it would have been better if we had a clean sheet. Sergio Romero is really making me smile, he is a heck of a goalkeeper to be honest, he is very underrated. Rashford was just fantastic, very pacy and causes all sorts of problems. Memphis was excellent as well and finally scored. Shame about Martial on the precautionary withdrawl because of a tight hamstring, hope he can be ready for Arsenal. First 20-30 minutes were absolutely abysmal though, it really was depressing lol. Against Arsenal, we really need some players back. Rojo has to play in CB with Blind because smalling might not be available which is another f*cking pain. Van Gaal, this is a team that actually plays proper football with their high possessional tactics, the difference between us and them is that they move up the field quick and create lots of chances and will punish us if we don't do the same, we really need to finish our chances. Secondly, the defence better be ready for Sanchez, Welbeck and Ozil, hoping Borthwick Jackson does enough to stop Sanchez or contain him as best as he can or he will rip us to shreds.

Disappointed that Liverpool lost in the shoot-out. Had a bad feeling about it and sure enough, it came to be.

 

And Barcelona should just be handed the league at this point because there's no point in continuing. 8 points ahead of Atletico and 12 ahead of Real, this is no fun at all. At this rate I'll enter another exile period from football similar to most of 09-13 where I only caught the big games occasionally.

Not exactly jumping with joy over the win against Watford, but a very important win nonetheless. Hope we can at least overtake City from now, it's a chance for United to improve the performances and try their best to be in that top 4, even go for 3rd if that's possible.

Newcastle look doomed. Another loss tonight, cracking goal from Shaqiri but the usual complete lack of desire from the players was what really beat us. I wasn't too keen on the McClaren appointment when it was confirmed but, after a good transfer window, I was all for giving him some time to bed in the new players and thought maybe we could finish mid-table, maybe even push for the top 10 and have a solid base to start from for next season. Unfortunately, none of that has came anywhere close to materialising. The new players have looked decent every now and then (Mitrovic has great hold up play and puts himself about a bit, but seems a bit too concerned with dramatics and winding up the opposition like he's Diego Costa, but lacks all the finishing ability of Costa; Wijnaldum's been our stand-out player but may as well not be on the pitch for away games; Mbemba's looked solid most of the time, but isn't much of an aerial presence; Shelvey's blown hot and cold so far and is always looking for the Hollywood pass or shot, with varying results).

 

We're in dire need of three points at home to Bournemouth this weekend, otherwise it might be curtains already.

I missed the game yesterday but the highlights were such a treat to watch. Shades of old Cristiano banging in fantastic goals from long range and Bale scored in his return. Plus the control over the game seemed to be much better from what I heard. Casemiro should get more play time because Kroos is not any good at playing the DM role (just watch the Atletico goal from last week). The league may be over, but we should at least be able to remain a threat in CL.

Yup. Van Gaal and his utter idiocy in place again, all the in form players on the bench, and putting f*cking Carrick alongside Herrera, and Varela on the bench as well. Mata was an utter tool and deserved to get sent off. Martial was on the left mid. Not to mention putting memphis on so late and taking Rashford off when he was supposed to replace Lingard. The only thing we can do now is pray that City f*ck their next game up so that we can have another chance of closing in on them, or we are beyond useless.

Bayern vs Juventus was such an incredible game. I had a feeling that Bayern would tie it up before the 90 minutes would be over and in the last minutes, they did just that. Sucks for Juve because they deserves to go further than that.

 

Hope Bayern draw Barcelona and Robben gets to play this time.
