Don't see the issue. Also I love UEFA's double standard of not allowing political gestures inside stadiums but then actively supporting the "Refugees welcome" bollocks. Bunch of absolute corrupt hypocritical c*nts. Didn't they also threaten Man City with some form of action when their supporters booed the CL anthem? Flags have always been a part of football culture, they shouldn't be banned.

1. I do see an issue when it's the Football club's administration who is promoting this. The administration is making FC Barcelona look like a political party with separatist ideology. It's not just some fan who decides to bring this flag, it's the club and other separatists organization that are handing out separatists flags for free. They even lie and tell tourists and people that are not from Spain that the Separatist Flag, is the "Catalan flag" or even the Spanish flag:

0:28

1:08

1:19

This flag represents the population of Catalonia (7.500.000 people)

This flag represents the population of Catalonia who want independence and it's not even close to 50%

2. You are right about UEFA's double standards yes. Not only for the "Welcome refugees" but also for the Eurocup group games. Spain - Gibraltar (NOT ALLOWED) but, Romania - Hungary and Serbia - Albania sure why not.

3. They also threaten Malaga when they almost make it to the Semifinal of the Champions League and got banned for next year.

4. Flags should be allowed ONLY if they don't have a political ideology behind it.

Flags in this pictures that shouldn't be allowed:

-Separatist Andalucia flag (Green and white with red star)

- Flag of the Republic of Spain

- German Democratic Republic Flag

- Communist flag

The rest are OK.The Turkish flag for example has NO meaning unless a player is from Turkey which is not the case.

And it's the same old same old with England. Can't do sh*t against a big team like Spain. What's the point of us being in any competition when we have no hope? Roy Hodgson is a sh*t manager and he needs to get sacked especially when he isn't giving our team confidence or using good tactics.

You can hear the explosion holy sh*t.

I totally expected Germany to win this one but hey well played France.

Joachim Low claimed Germany were pretty scared as they had been evacuated from their hotel due to a bomb scare earlier that day.

Probably France got lucky because of that.

They still played good though.

Not surprised because the mastermind of the Paris attack was a guy who lives in Belgium. It's good to see they're taking good measures.

Lovely strike by Alli for England, 'nuff said.

Got genuine goosebumps during that 1 minute silence too...

Regarding my last post, it seems the 'bomb found in ambulance' was just a rumour circulating the web, but there was certainly enough to call off the game so close to KO.

I'm not even sure what to be more shocked about. Liverpool playing in such style, Manchester City being this weak, or Real Madrid playing this bad?

Well that was a bag'o'wank

...Silva, Silva, where for art thou, Silva?

Do I understand? No it is impossible. It is difficult to understand, the performance was very low in defending, attacking. They scored four and could have had three more, it is impossible to understand. We worked well during the week, I don't believe the way we played. We must turn the page, you cannot analyse a performance as low as that. It was a fake game."

Manuel Pellegrini Manchester City manager

See, that's why I like you Manny, we played sh*t, and you can still sneak a little jokey dig in... welcome to City Manny, welcome to City

Man City lost? Thank the lawwwwd. 4-1? Goddammnn son. We're 2nd in the table and 1st is Leicester, who the hell would have thought that? Years back, people would have been branded mentally insane for them even surviving in the premiership, but the tables have turned a good 360 degrees. Arsenal also lost, this is a good time to celebrate.

Well, today was a strange day and I don't know what to say. All the negativity surrounding Benitez was proven to be true as all his tactical inefficiencies were put on a silver platter for all to see. Despite mostly good results this season, Real has been on a downward spiral with their performances since barely beating Granada 1-0 (after the 9-1 thrashing just 8 months ago) and it has been evident that Benitez' playing style just does not suit the team. He also seems clueless with some of his decisions. James was our best attacking player he got subbed off when it was time to bring on Isco, who should've started given how well he tends to play in these matches and being last year's MOTM.

I almost wanna give up on this season too and say Barcelona are running away with it, but the exact same thing was said last year when Barcelona were going through their crisis and Real had a winning streak, so you can never be sure of the future. I still think Benitez as manager will not do us any favors because he's been completely exposed with this match and our defense has been hopeless so many times that I'm surprised it hadn't backfired on us until tonight. Another problem is the complete lack of identity Real has had since Del Bosque was fired. So all this goes back to Perez and his inability to see beyond all the flash and glory behind the team and the idea of galacticos. The lack of a solid defensive midfielder brings to mind what he once said when Patrick Vieira was linked to us and he didn't want to "pay too much for a defensive player". Navas can only do so much when the defense is just not there.

But on the other hand, I had something to smile about when Liverpool gave City such a thrashing in their home field since Liverpool is my second favorite team!

Seeing Ronaldo being generally quiet today, I really am wondering if he has lost his hunger to play for Madrid or is he out of form. Because:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34893228

As much as I love Ronaldo, at 30, soon to be 31 in February, the premier league is not the right place for him, not to mention he's going to be expensive as f*ck. Sorry Ronnie, but the only reason there's interest in you is because of nostalgia. We need to stick to the talent we have and develop them, Memphis came back with a bang today and he's the guy we need to emulate Ronaldo.

The fact that Iniesta, possibly the best football player of the last decade, has never won a golden ball, says it all about how much this prize has become completely irrelevant and sponsor driven.

Didn't watch the Clasico because i am not interested. Barça won by 0-4 which means, that FCB is going to win the league tittle and possibly the Spanish cup again. There is still even people that tell me that the Spanish league is the best league in the world...:lol: They might be high on crack.

Anyways, Barcelona might of won yesterday, but they are going to have a hard time wining us...

The Golden ball is and has always been sh*t. There are a lot of players that are very good at football and don't even make it to the press.

Xavi was better than Iniesta, by a mile. He didn't even win one or get nominated, and that's criminal beyond imagination. Ronaldo and Messi are ballon d'or contenders no doubt, but we need more players to be nominated because they aren't being watched carefully. Robben and Ribery were contenders in their absolute prime, but they've won f*ck all.

Ronaldo, Messi, Ibrahimovic... all are big bluffs.

The difference is that, Ibrahimovic can show off and be an as*hole and society approves it. CR7 is not allowed to do that and Messi is exactly the same, but prefers to be quiet out in the public.

La Liga is the best league in the world, there is no doubt about it. It is not the most exciting, sure, but even mid-table teams in Spain are way better than their counterparts in England, Italy or Germany. The overall quality in the Spanish league is incredible.

I don't think so.I think German league much better than Spanish league.Mid-table teams are stronger than Spanish ones but Spain has some better individuals.I don't know why but German mid-table teams' stamina runs out faster in Europe, they get knocked out quicker than Spanish teams for recent years.

No.

La Liga has currently the two most successful teams in the world. But the league is not that good at all because those two teams finish always 1º and 2º. Other teams like Atletico, Valencia, Sevilla know that they CAN'T win the league so they try to make it into 3º-4º so they can play the Champions League and try luck. They also try luck with the Spanish Cup.

Another important factor to have the best league in the world is the fans. I have mentioned before that my team and Bristol Rovers have an official brotherhood and, even if they are in a lower division than us, their stadium is always FULL even though there is another team in the city of Bristol (Bristol City) that's in a higher division (Championship league). In Spain, supporting your local team, is something that nobody does (Except in a few cases).

Let's take a look at the differences between England and Spain:

England

At 5pm ManCity played Liverpool, a very attractive game to watch. At the same time, Reading was playing Bolton Wanders in the Championship League.

This is how the Reading stadium was:

IMG_5706.0.0.JPG

Spain:

At 6:15 pm R. Madrid played FCB, a very attractive game to watch. At 8:30 (Two hours and fifteen minutes later), Espanyol played Malaga

This is how the Espanyol stadium was:

According to official sources: 13,293 attendance out of 40,423 seats. (32%) of attendance

n_rcd_espanyol_estadio_cornella_el_prat-

You might justify this, by saying "Oh well, I can understand this, it's The Clasico and people wan't to watch it".

Well, let's see how thimgs go after and before the clasico:

Spanish league went down in quality since Atletico Madrid's, not big but significant fall. And that's partly due to Real Madrid's increase in spending power which is ridiculous because they buy players they don't NEED, they ruin them or they end up not using them because of the squad size. Barcelona does the same thing but on a smaller scale, it's not to say it's an excuse of course. Real Madrid is not a club, it's a dirty money laundering business, it's like the most OP super power you can have, and you still want more.

Outside of Bale, Madrid have not "overspent" since 2009 when they had the squad overhaul, bringing in Ronaldo, Kaka and Benzema. Hell, just this summer I think Barcelona spent more money despite their transfer ban. So it has nothing to do with that. Atletico just had a great season and fell apart as they've sold some of their key players.

1. It looked like The Spanish league was going in a direction similar to the Premier when Ateltico was Strong, Sevilla won the Europa League and Valencia announced that Peter Lim was going to buy the club. People thought "We are going to have five big strong teams which is quite nice to be honest". However it's hard to keep up with Barça and Madrid if you don't have the revenue they have each year.

2. You just nailed sir. I mean, that's how FC Barcelona and Real Madrid act like. They don't buy players to use them, they buy players so the other teams won't have them. And i am not talking about first class players, i am talking about kids who play in second division teams or in small clubs (Odegaard, Marco Asensio...)

You just described how FC Barcelona and Real Madrid act like.

Hell, just this summer I think Barcelona spent more money despite their transfer ban. So it has nothing to do with that. How can a mid-table team survive and make good seasons, if everytime they have good players, Madrid or Barcelona make ridiculous high offers and are forced to sell them because the player wants to move out so he can make more money than ever.

Let's put it this way,

Imagine you build the house of your dreams, and after a lot of time, and effort it's finished. Once it's done, I come over and offer you $150.000.000 if you sell it to me before you even move there. You accept because the prize is so high, it's worth it. Once we sign the papers, i get a bulldozer, and destroy it.

With the $150.000.000 I gave you, you start building a better house and the same thing happens, you finish it, and i make you the same offer and you accept, and i destroy it.

In other words, you are wasting money and resources and especially time, building something that other will buy and destroy. And that ladies and gentlemen is what Modern Football is like.
