A bit quiet at the Emirates in the first half.

Arsenal really stepped up after Wenger ripped into his dressing room midweek, good for them. I'm not sure what happened to Man Utd though because they've been flying high recently.

Buyern 5-1 Dortmund. It was 2-1 by the end of the first half and looked like it could go either way but Lewandowski destroyed Dortmunds hopes the moment the second half kicked off. Dortmund have a lot of work to do but look promising, very promising but Buyern on the other hand haven't changed, ruthlessly efficient and never look like they're gonna stop.

edit: just in that Rodgers has been sacked! about f*cking time, the guy is honestly the biggest hack working in football and deserves 0 credit for anything. utter f*cking joke.

Rooney was f*cking horrible. If he doesn't improve from now on, it obviously means he's finished as a United player. Why is Van Gaal playing our worst player in the no 10 instead of Hererra? My mind is blown.

Feel for Rodgers, but was bound to happen, just didn't expect it to happen now probably best it did though, just hope who ever comes in sorts the team out and plays people in their rightful position, Can is not a defender.

It's not necessary for history to repeat itself. I'll drop anchor when half the season is over and we're still hovering above relegation (which is highly unlikely). I'm just glad that the Chelsea board have placed faith in Mourinho. And I'm glad that RLC is going to get the chance that he has deserved all along.

As for Liverpool, as much as Rodgers deserved the sack, I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. Suarez made him look like one of the best managers in the PL but appalling buys in the transfer window by the Liverpool board didn't help his cause. Even if Klopp does agree to come to Liverpool, he has to get full control of the transfer dealings or I don't see much changing at Merseyside.

Although they came close a couple of years ago, the problem with Liverpool, is that they've got to stop pretending every year "It's gonna be our year". They need to go back to making the Champions League spots their target, and then get back into European football again. Once they've got a couple of years of this under their belts, then make that next step to the Premier League title challenge. They did this a few years back when Houlier was in charge and they had a reasonable chance back then, the only snag was United still had Fergie in charge, Chelsea were on the rise and spending the money thanks to Abramovic, and Arsenal, strangely could never be ruled out.

At the moment, you never know what you're getting with Chelsea, United don't have Fergie in charge and they still don't look anywhere near the kind of team they can be, and will bee suffering the Fergie hangover for a few years yet, Arsenal are perennial top 4 candidates, and that's as far as it goes, and as for City... well we're just waiting to cock it up as always. So Liverpool could have a great chance of sneaking in the back door while no-one is looking, but while they've got that "It's gonna be our year" mentality, because they can't forget the 80's, they're not going to succeed as well as they could do.

Glad Sevilla won against Barça.

I liked this picture that was taken when the Sevilla anthem was played before the match started:

(left) Real fans vs. (right) sh*t fans with no passion at all. Yes, you better record this moment with your phone (like some are doing), because you can buy any players you want, but you could never buy a crowd thats united and with has such passion.

The Atletico - Real Madrid was boring... Boring for a derby. I am glad Madrid didn't win because that means that Villareal is still nº1

And guess who is making progress with Villareal?

Klopp to the Kop? Damn, I wanted to see him replace Wenger in a year or two. Especially if strange forces at play and advantage of being out of the UCL really early help an unlikely title win this year for Arsenal.

Klopp or Ancelotti to take over at Anfield?

If I was a Liverpool fan I'd want Klopp. Ancelotti is fantastic but they need a longer term option.

In a few days, Spain is going to play against Luxembourg. A lot of people are saying on Twitter that they are going to whistle at him as hard as they can whenever he gets the ball during the match. He has been whistled before, but now, it's going to be a lot more.

Also, There is something i DON'T understand. When the UEFA did the Euro 2016 draw, Spain and Gibraltar where put in the same group. However, the UEFA decided to NOT allow this because it was considered that the game could be a "HIGH RISK" match (make sense). However, why did they allow Albania vs Serbia? Both countries hate each other a lot and they have been in war years back due to the Kosovo conflict. Doesn't make sense. The same way Romania and Hungary (Both hate each other a lot) also are in the same group.

Yes.

Sorry I forgot to say it was Pique.

I quite understand why people are going to whistle at him. People are fed up with players from Spain that don't feel Spanish but play for Spain for obvious "r€a$onS".

This picture is very popular right now on the social media:

names and languages are different,so are cultures but attitude is almost the same.I won't critique that situation in Spain but a similar thing happened in Turkey.Few years ago, when Mesut Ozil was in Werder Bremen's squad,he has chosen the German national team and Turkish people criticised that decision.I've never criticised him because I knew it was a right decision and he proved it in WC 2010. People in Turkey said "he is not Turkish anymore because he played for Germany instead of Turkey". This logic always seemed crap to me.He frequently visits Turkey, says "I feel so Turkish" and you can see him using turkish words after missing a chance.

He is still my favorite playmaker(and also he's a fan of Fenerbahce  )

Not comparing situations in Spain and Turkey,I just remembered Mesut Ozil thing when I saw that post above.I feel how Spanish people feel,I know that feeling I mean.We have separatists in our country too...

Just out of interest - not wanting to start a whole political debate on a subject I admittedly know very little about - but what kind of team would Spain be able to field without Catalan and Basque players? From what I know, both regions have their own "national" teams which play very rarely and against international minnows, for the most part, and can field a pretty decent XI (Catalan team from last year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalonia_national_football_team#Current_squad; Basque team: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basque_Country_national_football_team#Current_squad).

And they have some pretty rad kits too:

I know... But your example and mine are a bit different. I am going to use Turkey as an example.

Imagine you have a player from a place in Turkey where there are a lot of PKK separatists. Imagine he is quite good at football (Arda Turan level) and he makes it to the Turkish National Team. After playing many years in the Turkish National team, he is old now and he decides to finish his football career.

A few years after he had finish his career he starts saying publicly: "I am a Kurd Separatists and I always have been."

That's what Pep Guardiola did. If he had been honest and said: I played with Spain because the Spanish federation pays a lot" I wouldn't be mad, but instead he lied saying that "Your are forced to play"

This is false, because another Catalan separatist football player that is very extremist called, Oleguer, refused to play with Spain because he didn't feel Spanish. Nobody got pissed at him. Why? Easy, because people prefer having players that feel Spanish in our squad than players who don't feel Spanish and play for the money.

How much does the Spanish federation pay?

Here (http://www.tsmplug.com/football/players-get-paid-to-play-for-national-teams/) they're quoted as getting £700,000 if they won the World Cup, but far smaller fees for individual matches (friendlies and qualifiers, I imagine) - this was for 2014, the fees were probably a bit lower when Guardiola was playing for Spain. And besides, according to that article, most players donate their fees to charity - that may not be the case with the bigger fees received for winning competitions, but Pep never won a thing playing for Spain. I dunno if money would have been the factor, rather the prestige of international football - the World Cup's the 'holy grail' of football, not many players are going to turn down the chance of competing in it, regardless political/national identity. You've got the likes of Deco (Brazilian but played for Portugal), Diego Costa (Brazilian but plays for Spain), and a whole host of English-but-play-for-Ireland players as proof that national identity/patriotism doesn;t always factor into it.

The Platters got a 90 day suspension from all football related activities, but in a coincidental turn of events Platini managed to file in his president candidacy meer hours before getting suspended, even though the deadline for that is 26th October. Must be the luckiest man in FIFA

After the suspension's announcement, the FA (UK) and the FFF (France) renewed their support to Platini.

I can even try to understand the FFF, immediately supporting a French national, but the FA, really?!

Couldn't both just be silent, at least until next Thursday, when UEFA's 54 federations will meet at Nyon to debate FIFA's crisis and these suspensions?

If it looks like sh*t and smells like sh*t, it's probably just roses:2000.jpg?w=620&q=85&auto=format&sharp=10

Well, Scotland is out of the Euro 16 tournament. The group (with one match to play) looks like many would have predicted. Germany>Poland>Ireland>Scotland>Georgia>Gibralter. It's a shame really having done quite well considering. We have bettered Ireland in the qualifying and for the most part bettered Poland too, 2-2 in Warsaw and a cruel 94th minute equaliser for the Poles at Hampden for another 2-2 tonight.

99 games out of 100 I will be cheering Ireland, but why-oh-why did the Irish choose tonight, to be the night that they beat the world champions......
