I'll grant that. I'm a bit biased towards Pirlo because he's one of my favourite players. I can see how he could have been ineffective yesterday, and how someone else might have been more effective for Juve. It's just a pleasure for me to see him in action.

I just watched the whole match on my TV (I can rewind 7 days of programs on all channels). I didn't want to but it was worth just to shut you all up with the boring bs phrases about "you didn't watch the game blah blah nah nah", like it was even needed to actually understand what happened, something that was clear to me right after Rakitic's goal. So what now? It was even worse than I thought. Painful to watch. We were an absolute disgrace on all goals and Allegri completely f*cked up the game after Morata scored. I was right from the 4th minute. I do believe in my team when I know they can make it. They obviously couldn't yesterday so what was the point? I had more important things to do. My family comes in first in my book, not a team that was playing disgracefully a major final. And f*ck this idiotic fan rhetoric about abandoning the team and being a real fan. Are you guys listening to yourselves? It's just a f*cking game. A real fan should never take the game too seriously. You win some you lose some. This time we lost and we sucked on top of it. No big deal. You have to understand that in Italy we have a different mentality. You win you are a hero, you lose you are a loser. We do not support teams in bad times, we criticize and boo them. That's how you learn to win. The Italian team that lost the final against Pelé in 1970 was received at the airport with fresh tomatoes thrown at them. Now I know this doesn't fit in the anglo-saxon way of looking at things, but this is the Latin way and that's how we won 4 WC.

I didn't criticize RM for sacking Ancelotti for winning the 10th, which was due to a last minute lucky shot imo, I criticized them cause they had declared just months earlier they'd keep him for decades.

Allegri did the minimum required. The Italian Cup, in case you don't know it, isn't worth anything by Italian standards. Most clubs consider participating in it as a pain in the ass and are quite glad to leave it to smaller clubs. That's why we didn't win it for 20 years. We had more important goals. It's not like the FA Cup or the Copa del Rey. There's no glory in winning it. It's the meh cup. Allegri did a good job in taking us to the final but he wasn't experienced enough to win it. It's just something out of his league. I wish we still had Conte yesterday night. He would have not f*cked it up in such an amateurish way.

Btw, you have been following Juve for 20 years and you ignore that our motto is "Winning is the only thing that matters" ? lol

500 fans are not representative of 12 millions, or are they? ;)

They're just there to see famous people I guess... All true Juve fans I know are pissed off big time.

First you stopped watching the game after Rakitics goal and went on about how Juventus played horrible (which if you watched the whole game, you would know that they played exceptionally well against a strong Barca side), and now you're criticizing Juventus fans for supporting their team?

I already said I just watched the whole match recorded on my TV... :sui:

Just read my posts before replying to them...

We played sh*t. Fact.

I criticize the fans that went to the airport.

That sends the wrong message to the team.

Like, ok we lost but you did your best.

Wrong, you lost, you should have done better.

That's how Juve works.

Our motto is "Winning is the only thing that matters".

So annoying having to explain over and over again the most basic stuff...

I know there's a cultural divide but ffs :turn:

This topic needs more Brazilians and Argentinians. They'd know what I mean. :pp

EDIT: I completely agree with Mou on this. Counterattack gave the win to Barça and the lack of it caused our loss. That's why I dislike someone like Allegri. He's the type of coach who thinks our historical way of playing ain't effective.

The fact is you're neither 40 years old nor do you know absolutely f*ck all about Juventus. I know if I was Allegri, I'd spit on your face if you claimed to be a fan. Juventus did not play sh*t throughout the match, and that's a fact. The first 10-15 minutes they panicked and Barcelona scored by immediately putting pressure on them. Then Juventus start doing the same thing to Barca for a while until they equalised and from then, the match was like a fight from Rocky. And LMAO at your stupid italian mentality, real fans support the team no matter what and don't stop supporting them, that's a part of the definition of a glory hunter. You criticise them of course, but if you abandon them 4 minutes after the game starts, you're not even a fan at all. Stop making sh*t up, because real Juventus fans would look down on you look like a mental case.

Anywho, the absence of Chiellini was a bit of a blow to Juve. He's their best defender and if he was in the game, chances are that he would have helped hold of Barcelona just a bit more even if they lost. Considering Barca's form, I wonder how they can be stopped to be honest, they've got too much pace and excellent finishers at the front and the delivery from the midfield is just continuous and destructive.

I am actually damn scared of the Spanish Super Cup. While we have a great chance at beating Sevilla, which is quite deep into the month of August, and are also a weaker team, Real Madrid tend to involve in our sh*t and mess it all up. We can only confirm our excellent form in the new season if we win against them. While everyone is happy with the treble, everyone is expecting now the sextuple, like in 2009. And winning the Spanish Super Cup seems like the hardest task.

Jeff, don't try too hard. This is beyond your limited capacity of understanding something you know absolutely f*ck all about it, being that myself as a person, Juve's mentality as a club, Italian football in general, Italy as a country and our relationship with the game and ultimately what does it mean to support Juve for over 30 years through all wins and losses and even in second division like I did since I was a child.

The mere fact you resort to personal insults in a discussion about football cause you can't back up anything you say with reasonable and educated words shows the low level of your point of view which is the typical point of view of someone that takes football way too seriously and that in the most unfortunate cases becomes a brainless hooligan troglodyte full of hate towards the opponents and towards all the people that do not share the same view on what defines a real true best glorious brave fan of a football club. Well, sorry but being myself a free and educated thinker I consider people like those as the lowest form of human intelligence and unworthy of being considered football fans. If a true fan can't acknowledge when its own team played sh*t and failed miserably then it's a fan blinded by irrationality, fanaticism and stupid football rhetoric. I'm not that type. I'm able to criticize the team I support when such team sucks and make it all easy for the opponent.

That's called being a real football fan in my book. And sorry if this "stupid Italian mentality" granted us 4 World Cup titles but that's how we live football and it pays out big time. World can't be all British, can it? ;)

----

And to change topic cause I'm tired of being personally attacked for having an opinion...

Iniesta should win the golden ball this year. Enough of giving this prize to people who achieved sh*t so far.

Just rewatched the highlights and wow, I gotta say that the shots of Marchisio are incredible. Such a quality player. I also remember the goal against England in the last World Cup. He has quite a great shot. For me he seemed like the best Juventus player on the pitch last night.

Was just going to ask if anyone is following is the womens world cup. It's odd in the sense that nobody cares about our mens national team yet there is tremendous support for our womens national team. Hoping our girls can pull off a miracle and win gold on home soil!

As far as continuing the form into the new season, that's easily doable. But I wonder if they will be bothered because this is the second time they've gone though a treble, with the last one being in 2009. The fact is, Barcelona will beat Sevilla for the cup if they are bothered, because as far as they are concerned, a treble means the world to them while the super cup is far from important really. At the end of the day, the main thing about next season for Barca is to make sure Real Madrid continue with their sh*t form, but they'll probably back to normal eventually anyway.

How am i supposed to feel when my team when my team plays like sh*t all season and when we have to play the last league game (being already relegated to Second Division B), they play like if it was the Champions League final. Very disappointed.

Also, very disappointed at Osasuna fans Invading the pitch, Singing "Puta Sabadell Puta Sabadell". But what can anybody expect of fans that support ETA and IRA Terrorism. They have gained a new enemy, that's not a strange thing for them because most people hate them.

Very pleased by the way for our 60 Bristol Rovers fans that came over:

Speaking of next season's super cups, what will it be for Spanish Super Cup? Will it be Barcelona vs Real (La Liga #2) or Bilbao (Copa #2)? If it's the former, then I guess we still have a shot at winning a trophy in the year of 2015. :D

In the group stage for 2007 and 2010? Because Liverpool and Inter did the favors those years in eliminating those cocksuckers!

Chelsea is a team I will always have respect for and applaud any success for them after their battles with Barcelona in 2005, 2009 and 2012. So disappointed that they got knocked out by PSG because I'm confident they could've caused trouble for Barcelona drawing them in the QF this season. Mourinho is just a master at handling Barcelona's team.

Just watched the Sweden-Nigeria highlights from the Women's World Cup - cracking game and some decent goals from Nigeria, finished 3-3 with Nigeria coming from 2-0 down at half-time (just as well you're not Nigerian Doc, the telly would have been turned off instantly). USA-Australia is about to kick off now.

Apparently Ings to Liverpool is a done deal. Wouldn't have minded seeing him at Newcastle, but I think Liverpool should be aiming a bit higher to be honest.

I'm a week late in responding, but had an absolute ball in Sydney last week for the Chelsea game. Chelsea were taking the piss for the entire 90 minutes (and, to be fair, Sydney FC did put up a decent challenge), but it was still great to watch both Hazard and Costa show off their skills for the crowd. Not to mention, Remy's goal was absolutely awesome!

We were behind the goals, and it's a shame that Remy's goal was at the other end, but my mate (who's a bigger Chelsea supporter than Girish and Roman Abramovich combined, and who's favourite player is Remy himself) was absolutely livid. Even though I don't support them (read: f*cking hate them 'cause f*ck Chelsea :)) was awesome to see my boys Nemanja and Branislav play a full 90!

Also, we were having lunch at a restaurant only about a stone's-throw away from the hotel where the Chelsea squad were staying. We missed John Terry's meet-and-greet with the fans by about 30 minutes, though we did see Diego Costa through the window of the hotel bar from the street! (We could've entered the bar, we were only in Sydney for one day and without sounding elitist but we were dressed fairly business casual/preppy, none of us had any Chelsea memorabilia on us, but there were these three teenagers with Chelsea tops who were following us and figured that they could've joined us inside by pretending to be our cousins and they just f*cked it for us completely). Shame that my phone ran out of battery during the day and couldn't take a sneaky paparazzo snap of Diego in all his glory, but I did take a few snaps at the game.

FgAIlUWh.jpg

I know in the grand scheme of things it's not that big of a game, but we're 20 hours and $2,000 from the nearest European city, so when any big team from Europe comes to play here it's a big deal. Especially being in a stadium of 80,000 people who were all Chelsea supporters for the night (including me, begrudgingly :pp) watching the best team from (in my opinion) the best league in Europe play (against the team I hate the most in the A-League), it was a great night and will live long in the memory. :)
