I guess all the United fans I've ever come across have that United bias that doesn't let them think and see things properly at times.

But how does me saying De Gea is the best reflect every other United supporters thoughts? A lot will still say he's behind Neuer some will say he's better.

If you've read more posts on the previous pages you will see my reasoning behind it, if you asked before the game I would have said Neuer but after that performance in such an important match (once again) I will say De Gea. If Neuer puts in more great performances and stays consistent then I might say Neuer takes the number 1 spot again. I should have added 'at the moment' into my statement. It's a shame Del Bosque is stuck in 2008-2010 because De Gea without a doubt should have been Spain's number 1 in the World Cup.

As for the record I would say Suarez was the best number 9 in the world last season. I see Messi as a more of a number 10 than all out striker and Ronaldo mostly plays on the wing.

Jeez, people still arguing over who's the best goalkeeper, you're all wrong since it's Joe Hart.

Head and shoulders above the rest mate.

I never said your thoughts about De Gea reflected every United fans opinion though I said that is the type of generalising that United fans do on a constant basis. I've grown up around more United fans than probably anybody else by a large margain and you all have the same thoughts about players at times that wouldnt of been the same on the player if he didn't play for United.

Now you say De Gea is number 1 based on that performance so he leapfrogged Neuer. But De Gea has been gradually getting better over the past few years and now if he puts in a performance like he did on the weekend every week then your argument would hold more weight in my opinion. However the thing is that Neuer has been putting in great performances on a consistant basis for years now where De Gea hasn't done that nearly as long as Neuer has, and Neuer is still doing it so I dont see in anyway how De Gea could leapfrog Neuer. Also like you pointed out I dont see how you can be number one in the world if you aint even number one for your own country.

Also talking about previous pages I remember seeing that you said that United had the "best strikeforce in the world" (or something along those lines) That goes back to my point about the United bias and overestimations of their players that is oh so frequent. I also remember someone in here saying that you "United would definetly finish in the top four last year because you signed Mata in January", and I've also just read a couple of United fans saying "DiMaria is the greatest player ever". It's sh*t like that that I'm talking about.

I never said we had the best strikeforce in the world. I said one of the best and that was before Falcao had even played (which is quite obvious I was saying on paper) Mata could have made more of a difference if he wasn't shoved out wide for most games last season and when played in his preferred position he was scoring/ getting assists for fun.

Supporters from every fanbase say stupid things like Liverpool fans saying they were going to win the league and some saying Rodgers is the best in the game despite winning f*ck all. Also saying Suarez leaving won't have that much of an effect yeah I could go on for days about deluded scousers but it's like that with every fanbase.

I stick to my statement that De Gea is better than Neuer at the moment btw, De Gea has had a below average defense in front of him for about two seasons now while Neuer has one of the best defense in the world in front of him. Do I watch De Gea more than Neuer? Yes. Have already explained why I think De Gea is better? Yes because it's my opinion. Biased I don't think so. A lot of other neutral's etc are saying he's number 1 now too so it's not just United supporters saying this. If the argument was who's been consistently better for the last three years then obviously Neuer but that wasn't my point.

This is now really getting obvious

FIFA... this is about to happen

bo3zf.gif

I'm gonna grab some popcorn when this happens, cause it's going to get good.

UEFA needs to break away from FIFA, others will follow and they'll be reeling, vulnerable and then hopefully Blatter will get put in f*cking prison.

Awful state of affairs though as I don't really trust UEFA either. Football is f*cked chaps, it's just a shame we love it so much or else my disgust would mean I walked away from the game. Can't seem to though.

Football from top to bottom is getting rotten these days, from corruption in FIFA, to dodgy owners of clubs of all sizes, even down to the most stupid of all football f*ck-uppery that managers can't even criticize referees without sanctions or fines... yeah so much for freedom of speech, eh?

There needs to be some drastic changes and that has to start at the top, it's well and good football developing from the grass roots, which is good as that's the game itself, the issue is the governance or lack thereof. FIFA need to lead by example, but when they can't even self-regulate, when they're supposed to the regulators then hope is wearing thin. Plus how they organize the World Cup is shambolic and downright immoral, the recent World Cup and their instance that Brazil allow alcohol to be served in Stadium, even though that was banned in Brazil years ago, is a perfect case... although if they try and get Qatar to do that, I'll laugh me bollocks off.

I've never onced stated or will defend the fans that we have that overestimate this club. And I agree that every fanbase have these types of people. My point was that United have more of these people than any fanbase I've ever come across. However saying "People said Rodgers is the best in the game" then saying that you had the "One of the best strikeforces in the world" before Falcao had ever played the match is you doing the exact same type of thing that those people that said the same thing about Rodgers. You did excatly what I'm accusing a vast number of United fans of doing, overestimating yourselves.

I'm sure alot of neutral do say De Gea is good but without evidence I could easily say the same thing about Neuer. Yes Neuer has had a better defence in front of him but he still makes saves when he needs to. Plus have a better defence isnt Neuer's fault at all that's Uniteds for not puting a decent back four in front of De Gea to protect him. To me to be the best in the world you have to show you can perform week in week out at a top level for a few years before you can ever be the number one in the world at any position and to me Neuer has done that. Even though De Gea has been doing it for a decent amount of time now De Gea isnt as good or has been doing it as long as Neuer has. Look I'm not trying to change your opinion but if you give your opinion then expect it to be challenged on a open forum like this. I still think your being biased but again thats my opinion.

Overestimating ourselves? I don't think so this season. We're flying 10 points above Liverpool who were meant to be our rivals for top four and 8 (?) points above Arsenal who were also meant to be our rivals for fourth this season. A lot of United supporters like myself thought we would be fighting for top four but if we keep this up then we're challenging for the title (which we won't win before somebody tries to twist my words) Yeah we could drop off in the second half of the season as there is a long way to go but I don't see that happening. We are getting stronger, everybody in here underestimated United including yourself and have overestimated Liverpool who have been dreadful this season.

Like I said 'one of the best strikeforce in the world was an opinion based on paper. We have van Persie who has scored over 30 goals in a season twice, Rooney who is always popping up with assists and goals, Falcao one of the best number 9's the game has seen in recent years, Di Maria well just look at his stats in the last three years 'nuff said, Mata who has a reputation of getting a lot of assists and goals. This was all based on paper but as we all know football is not played on paper.

I'm not just talking about this year and only overestimating yourselves in terms of your players and team it's also how United fans seem to glaze over certain things players have done it the past etc.

I could continue with this but I just cant be arsed. If you aint a United fan you probably understand what I'm saying however if you are a United fan you will never fully understand me.

Overestimating lol. It's Liverpool's year every year :p To end this stupid argument it's football, opinions opinions opinions.

Interesting situation going on at Newcastle. Third choice goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has injured his shoulder and will most likely not play against Sunderland on Sunday. This is leaving Pardew with a 17 year old and an 16 year old to play in goal in a derby.

In my team's stadium 200m street, you can find four bars one next to the other FULL on match days. What's the point on banning alcohol on stadiums when you can drink a whole bottle of Gin in the bar close to the stadium? What's the point of removing the cap of a water bottle that you buy in the stadium? If i wanted to throw something to a player, i would throw the bottle not the cap..

Tomorrow Bayern will announce the signing of Odegaard.

The source which claimed Bayern will announce the signing was probably full of sh*t. Odegaard was in Barcelona yesterday and will stay in Amsterdam for a couple of days in January. Nothing is decided.

Don't care. May be other users didn't know.

Yesterday the police arrested two fans in the Sabadell stadium for doing the "Nazi salute"

I was in the stadium and saw thw whole thing live. Since Sabadell is a small team, i happened to know one of the guys who did this, and he is not a Nazi at all, he even votes and simpatizes with Left Wing ideology. He was arrested and kicked from the stadium plus finned and NOT allowed to come back never again. The people who where sitting around him, said that he had BOTH arms up while singing chants just like this but a bit higher:

The police later said that both fans said racist things to an african player from Leganes FC which the african player said on an interview that it was false and he never felt insulted during the game.

The reality of the situation

1. Spanish cops failed to do their job properly when the Atletico Ultras and Deportivo's Ultras started a fight (the fight was planned days before the match by both ultra groups). So now, they want revenge and show the press they can do a good job even if that means arresting people without being violent or racist.

2. Yesterday, all the stadium whistled, protested and where angry at OUR players and our High rank directors and executives for the current bad situation of our club. (21st position out of 22nd in the league). I bet they executives got angry and send the police.

The chants where not violent or racist:

"Gordillo leave know"

"Our Players don't deserve the jersey the wear"

"mercenaries are sabadell players"

"Our youth team platers are better"

You guys be the judge

surprised they banned someone, it looks like your club needs all the fans it can scrounge to fill that stadium

I'm really surprised by the way Dortmund have fallen off the wagon this season. They have lost 10 matches now (most by any team in the Bundesliga). Sure, they lost their best players in the summer but I still thought they had the quality to stay in the top half of the table. Not to mention, Klopp is a good manager. Something must be terribly wrong in that Dortmund dressing room. I hope it's only a loss of confidence and they pick up in the second half of the season. Don't want to see them get relegated. Although, even if they do, I doubt they will stay there for more than a season.

What has actually happened to them? I know Klopp is a good manager so I'm quite surprised at this.

Draw for us away to Villa. Chuffed to see Falcao score and Young was man of the match for me. Great cross to set up Falcao, solid going forward and defensively.

What happens if Dortmund win the CL but get relegated?

Just curious, although that will never happen.

It would be funny and sad. Birmingham managed to qualify for the EL and get relegated in the same season few years ago

And Wigan, as FA Cup winners.

1-0 Stoke would put absolutely everything level between City and Chelsea tonight.

The age old question of the Premier League will be asked of Chelsea tonight...can they do it on a cold, rainy night at Stoke?

Last season, it would have been a 'maybe'. But I'm confident today. And with Mikel starting, it seems Mourinho is out there to frustrate Stoke for a change.

No football until January in Spain... Well that's not bad since out team has lost the last five matches and we are are right now 21st out of 22nd on the league. I am actually preparing for the worse case scenario and seaing my team play next year in a tier below. Let's hope not.
