Why? Them few don't represent the rest of us.

Of course not but there's always a few. If the police would actually do something like ban them from games then this hopefully won't be a problem in future matches.

Then why doesn't your damn club actually ban them or suspend them from watching their games? That's the right and logical thing to do. Real Madrid suspended some of their fans for attacking Bales and his teammates cars during their out of form period, so this is a heck of a reason to do so.

Anyway, the sad thing about Young is he is 29, unless he can get even better through ageing like Robben has and Ronaldo, then I can't see him in our first team next season and we'll have to look for someone else. If only he was like this since we bought him, he has potential since then. I think Carrick is being overlooked today, he controlled the tempo and read the game well and he knew he was being chased after but overcame the threats.

I have no idea how a Munich Air disaster provocation is a Police matter.

Sure, ban them from Old Trafford because it's the place where the gesture would be taken badly. But blanket ban from football grounds and involve the police? Behave. Should England fans be banned for singing '10 German Bombers'?

The ones who carry on doing this should be. You can get banned from football grounds for racist chants, what's worse then insulting somebody because of their race or mocking people who died in a plane crash or died at a football match? Both are as bad as each other. Maybe if the police did something about it for a change we wouldn't get this in United/City games, United/Liverpool or United/Leeds games etc. I'm not pointing the finger at certain fanbases as I know a handful of United 'supporters' have probably mocked Hillsborough before. It's about time something was done about it instead of shrugging it off as 'oh their idiots let's just chuck them out so they can come back next season and do it again'

The banter of derbies is always good but there's always a few idiots who have to take it too far. i.e the same handful of City 'supporters' who did these airplanes gestures will be the same to go to Anfield next season and mock the Hillsborough disaster.

Who gives a f*ck. I mean I know it's offensive but it is just a stupid joke. Are you gonna ban dead baby jokes from Old Trafford too? Banning people for plane "gestures" is stupid. Soon we'll be banning people from sticking their middle fingers up to away fans or making a wanker gesture at the ref. Hillsborough and Munich chants are sh*tty, but they're certainly not criminal or even worh banning people for. Football stadiums are already too sanitised over here and it's killing a lot of the atmosphere and passion.

Probably because Vandalism is actually a crime.

Didn't see united ban 3,000 of your lot when they sung "murderers" at Anfield. Certainly a bit OTT banning them for a gesture.

Fair enough. I'm not really going to get into this argument as there is valid points from both sides. Banter is one thing, offensive chants is on another level whether its by some of our own supporters or supporters of other clubs. Sad to see this sh*t in football nowadays.

Moving on................Klopp basically confirmed that Hummels is seriously considering a United move. He is an ideal CB to get, so away we go with the plans to get him. Him and Rojo will be absolutely solid for us as well as an evolving partnership between Smalling and Jones who we can use at times.

How anybody can compare it to calling somebody a wanker or middle finger gestures at a ref is actually laughable. I'm not even going to debate this further not even worth it. You have your views and I have mine. Anyone who joins in these pathetic chants or gestures should not be in the ground. Enough with the scumbags ruining good rivalries. Moving on...

He didn't say that exactly. It's too early to say who's coming in the summer anyway but we have been linked with Danny Ings today which is a meh signing imo.

He did. He said Mats Hummels is thinking about a move to United which is clearly a strong hint because nowhere does he mention any other team although it is possible of course. We need an experienced and talented defender like him anyway, regardless of his lack of pace which is pretty much his one and only big problem.

As for Ings, don't want him. He is good quality but overrated IMO. Charlie Austin is better and the best of em all is Harry Kane who would be the absolute best buy for us as a striker. But I doubt Spurs would let him go easily unless he wants to and we can offer the right amount, but it's way to early to discuss this and at this stage United haven't even considered anything so far. I'm more optimistic of the potential buy of Clyne who is a brilliant RB and he is who we absolutely need.

Nope, you're not getting away from it that easy wrong kind. Racism is a whole different ball game - it, along with other overtly discriminatory language has absolutely no place in football because it creates a hostile atmosphere for fans and supporters who happen to be a member of the group target by vile chants.

Singing about a plane crash 50 years ago is not something I would personally do and you're right, it is undoubtedly sick. But it's not even remotely on the same level as racism or homophobia. 'You're under arrest for laughing about a plane crash' do me a favour.

You say it ruins rhe rivalry, but it's the nasty sh*t like this which is the essence of a local rivalry. City fans goad United and United do the same. Ask a City fan if they bought the league and they'll get pissed off, take the piss out of Duncan Edwards and a United fan will do the same. Each is about as much of a police matter as the other.

Where did I say about fans being arrested? I said the police should work with the stewards to identify them. I mentioned no arrests you've added that.

My uncle is a City fan but I can't recall him ever coming back with 'haha Duncan Edwards died in a plane crash' Anyway move on already.

Excellent first half so far. Hopefully we get more of the same in the second half. Disappointed we couldn't find the net but hopefully the match continues the same way and we can get at least one away goal from this.

Ramos' presence further proves to me that the 4-0 win was a fluke. Other than the dangerous long range pass attempt (which the backline recovered by putting the pressure on Griezmann when he received the ball), his defending has been 100% on point. Then there's Varane who I cannot say enough good things about. Always great during a potential counterattack and kept the Real half very calm for the most part, but the best part was that fantastic run when he made it past two Atletico players and we had a two on one situation which Benzema unfortunately screwed up by stressing and trying to pass the ball to Cristiano before he had even controlled it. James tried to make something out of it but it was too late. Bale has been better but I really wish he could've had a better finish when he had that one-on-one in the first ten minutes. Was a golden opportunity handed to him after Atletico's defender missed clearing the ball and he should've scored right there but it got saved. Love the pressure the team has put on Atletico all over the field, from defense to offense.

EDIT: Second half was a lot worse. The pace slowed down which was understandable and Real were much less aggressive. But I'm mostly focusing on Benzema who has simply AWFUL. I don't know if he was paid by Atletico to perform intentionally bad or what but he was simply not on today. Other than the aforementioned 2-on-1 chance in the penalty box from the first half, he had the perfect chance to shoot on target right in front of the goal after Ronaldo's excellent dribble of 2 defenders on the edge of the box. Instead he does a sh*tty pass backwards with his heel to I don't know who. You could see on replay that this annoyed Ancelotti and most likely contributed to him being subbed off, which should have happened minutes after that screw-up. Also that ref is a f*cking idiot. Mandzukic was booked for no reason but more importantly, Marcelo got booked for a header-battle near the end when he barely did anything foul-worthy, let alone yellow card - which also means he will miss the next match.

Oh well, 0-0 is not the worst that could happen and with the home support next week, we should still be able to go through with a win.

You're a Bayern fan, right?

I guess you still have nightmares from last year. :p

I am no die hard fan. Only a casual supporter, because a lot of those players have made us world champions.

I remember one season before last season Dortmund beat Real Madrid 4:0 and nobody talks about it anymore. But there are Real Madrid fans that still spam on Bayerns Facebook page about their win. Who cares?

web-dortmund-getty.jpg

If Atletico beats Real Madrid in the next game, you could consider them as better than Real Madrid, but the reason why I would rather not want to have Real Madrid is the individual class of their forwards and their fast paced counter attacks.

It was actually 4-1 and Real at least made the effort to come back when they won 2-0 the return match. Also it's just playful banter, no need to get all upset about it. I brought it up because you talked about not wanting to face Real so it was convenient. Bayern fans can also spam Barcelona's pages with their 7-0 victory since that was utter domination like never seen before! :p

As a matter of fact, should Bayern and Barcelona advance, I hope they get each other.

Ok sorry, your are right with the 4:1 result. I find those facebook spammers really annoying and spam in general, because half of the comments on all pages of big football clubs are pointless spam.

If Bayern gets Real Madrid again, it will be extremely hard. I don't let myself fool by that draw. In the next game Ronaldo could score a hat trick again.

But Bayern have learned from their mistakes. One mistake was probably that they lost their concentration after the early win of the championship last season. Guardiola said after winning the championship: "The Bundesliga is over for us." Apart from that, the team was too vulnerable to counter attacks. Normally, if Robben and Ribery are fit they can play with only three defenders. But I wouldn't do that against Real Madrid. They need to find a balance in such important games.

Most players should be fit again for a potential semi final. Guardiola also attended games of Barcelona and Atletico during the last round of Champions league to study their technique. Considering how many players are injured right now, he gets most out of the rest of the players available. For Porto it is probably enough considering they also have Martinez and Tello injured. But against a complete FC Barcelona or Real Madrid it could go badly wrong.

Should you joke about that 7-0 in two matches we also have this 4-0 with Atletico this season, 5-0 a few seasons ago, 6-2... it's all history, but so are those matches with Bayern. ;)

Too bad there was only one goal tonight and even that a penalty. I believe though that there will be goals tomorrow night, considering that neither teams of tomorrow play defensive like Atletico does, or Monaco, maybe Porto, but other than that, it should be a good show.

I read somewhere about Ronaldo scoring against Granada 5 goals... Messi does that in a 8th finals match in Champions League. Read somewhere that Granada is a team that beat Barcelona last season, while it was Ronaldo who scored two seasons ago an own goal and Real Madrid lost 1-0.

And every time I see things about Messi not being able to perform in England, I think of nothing but the two goals scored in the Champions League finals against Manchester United, the poker against Arsenal, all the bars hit against Chelsea or all the nutmegs against Manchester City's players and basically the tearing apart of the team as a whole. Maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but some of these are facts.

And don't underestimate the power of La Liga. In the meantime the Spanish League has 4 teams in the Quarter-Finals of European Competitions, while England has none. The only thing I can agree on with is the Premier League having more exciting matches, that's undeniable, and they're above everyone at that, on par with Bundesliga I might say.

It is nonsense to say Messi wouldn't score much in the premier league, because he is not Hulk. He has some muscles on the upper part of his body.

Also what about Wayne Rooney?! He is only 6cm taller than Messi and not stronger built. But he has scored many goals in the premier league.

lol, those muscles are nothing. Maybe would be suitable for a modeling magazine but sure as hell wont win him any physical battles in the field. It doesn't matter anyways because Messi's pros are his speed and technique. Most players will have the size advantage on him regardless of league. To say he wouldn't make it in EPL is nonsense and I'm not even a fan of his saying it. Maybe he wouldn't have the same success as in La Liga but he sure as hell would be near the top for top scorers and assists.

PSG vs Barca is an exciting link up for me. Potentially, the defence of Barca might not be able to handle Ibra's power and strength and Cavani himself might get a few chances for sure. I can't even see Messi, who is godly this season, get past the defence much. PSG's defence is very powerful. Yeah, I'm being very optimistic for PSG right now.

@Stephan60: Rooney is definitely built although it's more naturally rather than muscles. I doubt you watch the premier league if you think he isn't strong. He's very strong, as a matter of fact he is one of the strongest forwards in the damn league.

Edit: I'm a f*cking idiot. I forgot Ibra is banned for a goddamn stupid reason.

Ibrahimovic doesn't play tonight, he's suspended after that red card at Stamford Bridge. Neither does Veratti as far as I remember.

We don't have our best form right now, kinda stepped down a little after playing Manchester City at home. Winning against Real Madrid had also required a piece of luck. However, I can't see us not scoring tonight, but also I can't see Paris Saint-Germain not scoring tonight. Should be a draw or something, at worst, a 1-1.

I literally just remembered Ibra was banned. Now I'm sure PSG will struggle especially Veratti not playing as well. He could have been the crucial midfield solution they needed while Ibra just destroying the Barca defence. But I can agree now that this will be a tight game. Still exicted none the less as whichever team goes through has to be avoided by the other teams going through.

As for Klopp, that came outta nowhere and the next manager is going to be under heavy pressure to build them back up. I can definitely see Hummels on his way out just before or after Klopp goes, it'd be the perfect time.

I want Real vs Porto and Barca vs Juve plz!

How bizarre would it be if along with Porto, Monaco pulled one over Juve and made it to the semis where they face the other teams and win, resulting in a repeat of 2004?
