crazy up and down match, it finally looks like chelsea are heading out. shocking.

edit: Chelsea out. Impressive performance from a 10 man P$G. Chelsea simply did not look good enough, they were on the back foot the entire game.

Last night was a surprise and nerve wracking as a fan but tonight was more fun to look at PSG pull an upset and eliminate Chelsea so early. And with the odds stacked against them even more following the undeserving red card Zlatan got. Just an awful decision by the ref and Costa got away with shoving PSG's player when he was looking for a penalty and didn't get it.

Congratulations to PSG for this. I hope next week gives us more of the same with City pulling one over Barca although I don't have any hope in that one. But crazier things have happened so we'll see!

Why is Kuipers so terrible and more importantly, why doesn't anyone recognize him as the worst ref ever.

totally disappointment....He disgust me..Chelsea too...Costa 9 fouls only yelow card.....

what a game from chelsea vs 10 players.... :barf::barf::barf::barf::barf:

this is absolutely justice for PSG....There is a GOD...

Edit:

you can count on one hand Chelsea target shoots in first game....

Mourinho's negative tactics backfired. Great victory for PSG!

Absolutely pathetic display. If anything you'd think PSG had 11 and we had 10. We should have taken the game to them after Ibra's sending off, but we totally lacked any drive or energy. The 2 goals were f*cking corners as well, I can't remember the last time we were so bad at defending set pieces. Overall we were complete and utter dog sh*te. The 2nd half we were as bad as I've ever seen. The season can still be a good one, but tonight was terrible. The team should feel embarrassed by that display.

Honestly the last team i'd want to park the bus against is PSG. They have big, strong, fast players. As soon as Zlatan got a red (undeserved imo) they should have rammed aggression from every direction. PSG is a team of players who can make individual differences.

So they say that if RM loses the classico Ancelotti will be sacked...

Just a few months ago they were saying that RM was thinking to make a new Ferguson out of Ancelotti... :D

This is going to sound extremely unpopular and I'll be surprised if anyone discusses it, but has anyone seen how tight the English Championship is?

1st place - 5th place are separated by 1 point, any number of teams could win that league this year and win promotion to the premier league. Absolute madness, will make an exciting end to the season!

Love the Championship (so long as West Ham aren't in it). Absolutely cracking league full of way more uncertainty and drama than the prem.

At the start of every season, all 24 teams have genuine hopes of relegation but equally, genuine hopes of promotion. No team is too big or small to go down or come up and it just makes for an amazing league. Quality of football is generally really good too.

My money is on Derby and Middlesborough to come up automatically, I'd like to see Brentford come up through the play-offs as they're my local team but I think if they did it would come too soon for them. Ideally I'd like Forest to keep up their current form and sneak in to 6th and come up. But I'm not sure they'll make it.

It's going to be exciting however it ends up.

Yeah a lot of journalists are reporting that Madrid will sack Ancelotti if results don't their way and if they end up trophy less this season. It just shows how ruthless the Real Madrid higher-ups are. Not even 12 months ago Ancelotti led them to European glory and now they're thinking of sacking him.

Sacking Ancelotti would be a little too dramatic. I'm completely not a Real Madrid fan, but that streak of 22 wins in a row isn't possible for any coach, even with the best players in his team. Things though have gone completely opposite this year 2015 though for Real Madrid, but I don't think Ancelotti is to blame. It ain't his fault of Ronaldo's red card, the team's injuries or even the lack of motivation. Such periods come to big teams. Having so many superstars with a huge amount of money and also performance will boost their ego and it will eventually turn against them. It's the lack of motivation for Real Madrid as of late, and I'm not sure what any coach in this world could do against it.

He's still the guy who got them the Champions League after so many years, in his first season also. At worst, he'll be given one more season after this if this one goes wrong. Let's remember that Mourinho had an even worse career at Real Madrid yet remained three full seasons.

Sacking is definitely overreacting. No one has been more successful than 2014 Real since Barcelona in 2009. That's a problem within this team, there's always expectation for perfection and anything less will be met with such overreacting which I guess is understandable because with all the money and top players, you gotta deliver.

Still remember this awesome night which was followed by Capello getting sacked anyways: (something I actually supported because I hated his style of playing)

I don't follow UEFA League much at all, but it was nice to see Wolfsburg play like they did and easily dismantle Inter. It sucks Bayern are so far ahead because Wolfsburg are great at the moment and could've been given some competition. (starting with the 4-1 domination)

Real Madrid played disgracefully against Schalke. To be honest, I know they're in bad form and the fans are being too harsh at the moment, especially when a lot of them are absolutely plastic, but when they are at home and they face a team like this, they should have absolutely dominated them even if there wasn't many goals involved and the money that was spent of some of the players is just not being justified recently. Their biggest mistake was letting Di Maria go, and that's coming from a United fan. Bale needs to step the f*ck up because he seems to be scared about being booed, f*ck what the people think because they obviously don't see talent when it's in their faces. This guy is a machine and him and Ronaldo are a monstrosity of attacking threat and I know he thinks Ronaldo might even feel agitated when he gets chances to score. Obviously Ronaldo has an ego which is what makes him a great player and have the thirst to score, but he needs to step back and let Bale shine like the sun. Ancellotti better not get the sack because he is an amazing manager for them. I think Real Madrid are simply feeling a burden on their shoulders and they're panicking, they need to calm down and do their thing. Hopefully, Ramos will come back and sort the defence out.

Yeah, I wouldn't even let El Clasico be the defining match for the rest of the season (regardless of win or lose). We're still in March and got about 10 more games to go and we're still in the CL despite it not looking to be the case after Tuesday. Hopefully with Ramos returning as well as Modric, the team regains what they have missed in recent weeks and show once again who the dominant team is.

Last year all three top teams kept dropping points in the last 2 months to the point where it looked like they were not willing to win the Liga and intentionally played bad. So I say anything can happen, come one month, maybe Atletico are magically in the hunt again. No one should jump to conclusions regarding Real just because of a few bad weeks and games.

I don't like Wolfsburg at all but I have to admit I was mighty impressed by their performance yesterday. They seem to be very focused this season, plus they have the players who are needed to win titles. Volkswagen will throw more and more money at them in the future. I definitely see them winning the Bundesliga again within next 5 years.

Yeah, I enjoy seeing them back to being as good as they were in 2009. They could've scored even more if they hadn't killed the pace of the match and just wasted time instead of putting more pressure on an already mediocre Inter.

Wolfsburg and Leverkusen were my selected favorites from Bundesliga going all the way back to 2001 when I picked teams based on the color they wear. So any time they succeed makes me happy.

eric dier is sh*te. tottenham let down by a f*cking useless defense, which is good to see as a gooner. don't mind united winning because they still have some nasty fixtures coming up.

olivier giroud was superb yesterday btw, had a hand in almost everything we did. good to see ramsey getting his confidence back too as he is so fragile in terms of confidence. with it he is world class, without it he is a huge liability.

Surpised by that great performance against Spurs. I genuinely thought Kane would reck our defence and score a few but oh my. What an important victory. Great win for Arsenal as well.

I've only seen the goals from Man Utd vs Tottenham but my god, the defending in Rooney's goal was absolutely pathetic. A traffic cone would put on better resistance than that.

Finally a win after nearly 4 weeks for Real. Was an easy game with no threats from Levante but I'll take it. Ramos is back and so is Modric, which should be good going ahead towards Nou Camp next week. I've got a feeling we can walk away with at least one point from this. And Barcelona may crumble in one of the tougher games they have ahead and if Real gets back to good form, we will have an opportunity to take back #1.

Went to see a J-league match over the weekend. Urawa Red Diamonds vs Montedio Saitama. It was a pretty decent game to watch, Urawa dominated the entire match but only managed to score near the end to take it 1-0. Good environment at the Saitama stadium too. But good lord to they need to shoot! I guess it might be something with Japanese football in general; they just don't take the chances. The one Brazilian guy on the pitch was giving at go every time he had the ball in a decent enough position, while the Japanese players were always looking for another pass and many counters squandered on back passing. Makes me wonder what's the path to become a football manager around here!

Norwich is my local team, so I have big hopes of play offs and maybe even automatics, you never know! The squad is more than capable of automatics. But we didnt have the best start/mid season. New manager has sorted them right out though so fingers crossed haha.

Go for it Gus, do it for a year or two then you can retire a rich man.

Bah, Arsenal played well today. However, just like the aggregate scoreline shows, it doesn't make up for doing appallingly in the first leg. Seriously, we've gotta make progress at this kinda stuff.

Arsenal did have a good game and if they can ever iron out blowing it in the first leg every time I think they'll finally become a very competitive team in europe. Alexis Sanchez was horse sh*t though.

Torres just edged out Bayer Leverkusen, some absolutely shocking pens today tbqh. Arda Turan looked like Messi on the ball today - he was taking on everybody with ease!
