Nice to easily navigate what could have been a tricky game.

Greenwood continues to improve rapidly and Bruno is just fantastic. 120 minutes a few days ago and he's putting in a performance like that. Absolute class.

Bruno Fernandes is so good he can get the man of the match award by being the second best player on the pitch.

Greenwood :inlove:

That 2nd Atletico Penalty was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. We've been sh*t this season sure, but it's hilarious that Madrid still can't win a single laliga title without the referee's help while competing with the weakest Barca of the last 10 years. They've been getting help ever since the matches resumed. Every single f*cking week.

And now this. This is absolutely absurd. Why should every laliga title they win have this much controversy? I still remember 3 years ago when they disallowed our goal against Betis despite the fact that it was past the goal line by 0.5 f*cking meters. It was the same referee as tonight as well. That game cost us the title.

Nope. Can't let Barca win it 3 times in a row.

United are a whole different team with Bruno in comparison to the first half of the season. I'm surprised no one picked him up sooner. I'd seen his games in Sporting and Sampdoria and he was incredible back then as well.

We have a straight forward run to the end of the season with our last game being Leicester away, meaning Leicester's CL spot is almost in our hands right now.

Good day for us all-round really.

Also, if you ever want to know why Norwich are going down, go watch Arsenal's first goal tonight. Norwich have been trying to get away with that sh*te all season.

The quicker we seek some of this defence, the better. Fair play to Sheff Utd though.

4 more points are needed to be taken from Liverpool. The remaining opponents better not disappoint.

It's alright, the club's going to be strengthening while they're ahead in the window. They've already got their top target who they've been linked with for about two years in, Time Werner.

Oh wait.

Another game, another brilliant performance by 18 year old Mason Greenwood.

As for VAR, even at 5-2 up I was sick to death of the site of it. Handballs for shoulders, offsides for big toes, Christ almighty.

The one involving Maura the other night was pretty pathetic TBH.

Granted, we didn't play well. But had we kept that goal, you never know, lol. Makes our league look like a laughing stock really.

It's amazing where football is right now honestly.

Can only play 20 minutes because they have to stop for drinks.

All talking points are nitpicked or made worse by VAR's inconsistencies and lack of common sense or getting too involved, which does mean refs/assistants mean less and less or can cop our of making decisions. Why do we need assistants on the side if a pitch these days anymore as VAR has it's silly lines thing for every goal to look for a shoelace being offside, lol.

And no crowds but fake Fifa videogame pap instead. Crazy times indeed. (Although understandable crowds can't go of course, but still).

Well I single out the technology when really the tech isn't the problem, albeit it's riddled with rules that seem to be applied very inconsistently, it's the standard of our officials that is the issue.

Late 2000's and early 2010's we actually had good refs - they were getting picked for all the major finals for a reason - but then they all retired or left, leaving us with this crock of poo that have been a problem for years now, the current crop of PL refs are all over the place in terms of quality and have been making some massive howlers for a while now. VAR hasn't caused any more bad decisions, it's just magnified them.

Except for the offsides cause a big toe was offside. Those need to f*ck off.

Feels unbelievably good to enjoy watching us as much as this again. I really can't compliment Greenwood enough. If he continues to get extensive game time the sky is really the limit for the kid. As for Bruno, I never imagined how big of an impact he was going to have for us. If we can tie Pogba down to a new deal (by all accounts he is settled as of now) and add a couple more players I'm really excited to see what we can do next year.

Hoping Arsenal can do us a massive favor on Tuesday.

Yep. United looking sharp. City and Liverpool being City and Liverpool. Arsenal might jump in if they make the right moves in the transfer market. Chelsea have already made 2 great signings. Last but not least let's not forget José is always a force to be reckoned with in his 2nd seasons at a club. Everton, Leicester and Wolves are good underdogs. Next season definitely interesting for the PL.

Let's just hope the fans return for this excitement.

I think Chelsea can become a real force actually. Ziyech is really underrated, and is an amazing signing. Chelsea could become a very dangerous team next season.

Outside of City and Liverpool I'd say United and Chelsea are the ones to watch, they won't be title favourites and neither will likely win the title but it could be a huge stepping stone season for both, who could both be important in deciding where the title ends up. Liverpool's squad is in it's prime, but I'd be a little bit concerned if they are passive this window, not being able to afford the £50m for a top target like Werner for a club like Liverpool, even in these trying times, is strange, especially when attacking depth is probably their main weakness. City and Pep play the "we don't have much money" card every summer since he's arrived pretty much and every time they always find tens of millions to spend, probably pocket change that fell down the sides of the sofa or something.

Arsenal seem miles away to me and Jose's tactics these days just don't cut it I don't think. Whenever I watch Spurs under him I see the same issue we had for years under him at United - we spend more energy trying to not get beat than we do trying to win. Under Mou you sit so deep that when you do win the ball back you've still got to get it and a bunch of players 100 yards up the pitch to score and while it will nick you games here and there, United's record vs the top six with Mou vs with Ole tells the story and it's not like we've been plain sailing under Ole, there were serious calls to sack him before Bruno arrived.

If I had to make a bold prediction - and my prediction for this season was that City would walk the league, which went well - I'd say the top four of United, Chelsea, City and Liverpool will be scrapping amongst them selves with everyone else fighting for 5th and 6th.

We would have been a force this season if we weren't so piss poor at defending. The loss against West Ham was tough to swallow because of how basic the defensive errors were. Not to mention that every time the opposition has a set piece, it looks like they have a 90% chance of scoring. I'm still going to give Lamps the benefit of doubt since it's his first season in the PL but we cannot keep on sprucing up our attack without fixing our defense.

Also, we made Palace (who hadn't scored in their last 3 matches) look like a top tier team. Pretty much had my heart in my mouth in the last 5 mins.

I would have agreed with you but then someone showed that Arsenal are somehow 3rd in the league since the new year.

For Arsenal it will entirely depend on who they buy, they have spent money before on players that were clearly not worth it and they need to get the players that Arteta needs not whatever agent wants to get his client a move to Arsenal.

Chelsea investing in Werner is fine but it is not their forward line that has been weak it is the defense that let them down. They need a new CB and a new GK if they are to challenge.

Chelsea has capable defenders such as Rudiger and Christensen though. It's true that Chelsea is not consistent enough yet, but with Werner and Ziyech joining it is becoming a menacing squad. With that squad imo you can compete with Pool and City. A player such as Willian is a good player, but if you want to compete with Pool and City you need someone better, and Ziyech is that upgrade. I would not be hugely surprised if that squad becomes champions next season is all I'm saying. I'm a bit biased as an Ajax fan towards Ziyech maybe, but I do think he is truly great.

Rudiger, Christensen, Zouma, I think Azpi can play CB quite well, Tomori, is not a bad CB line up at all. Not best in the world, but not bad. I think it is more their wingbacks where they could improve. But yeah, Abraham is actually a good striker, so Werner is extra it seems. But that is exactly the kind of depth top teams should have.

Spurs are absolutely woeful.

Only Mou could line up against Bournemouth like they're f*cking Barca. Spurs fans are in for a long and painful ride if Levy is invested in Jose long term, unless Jose implodes first, which will probably happen.

Rudiger and Azpi are the only good defenders in Chelsea. They need improvements in Defense and even in midfield. United have a better team right now IMO. They might be weaker attacking wise but they're a better team all around.

A blatant penalty not given, while they can't stop giving them to United at the mo, lol. But beyond that, we're clearly on our summer holidays after that Sheff Utd loss.

Said it many times now, it's obvious we need a bloody good clear out as it's all gone so stale and broken at Spurs, since before Poch left too. I don't blame Jose for our current form when it's so clear many just aren't invested in the team or just not good enough/trusted by the gaffer.

I'd sell off/let go of plenty of first team regulars like Aurier, Davis, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Dyer, Llamela, Ndombele and maybe even Lloris and Alli to be fair, unless they can prove more worth, though I will admit Lloris saved us a point tonight late on but he's got blunders in him for sure.

Kane and Son obviously are key, but Maura and Bergwijn look like they could step up if trusted more and start regularly, and I think the young Tanganga has a solid future but too young to lead the backline and I do think Winks is decent when the team is clicking. The rest I'm unconvinced with really and can take or leave. Maybe Sissoko and Sessengnon could stay but theu need to do more and be consistent which I don't see at all, though Sessengnon is a bit younger, maybe. But time for maybe has passed IMHO.

Trouble is, Levy spent big on players like Ndombele, Llamela and Sanchez and I can't see us make much back off them duffers if we do look to flog them off. Of course, if the pandemic has hurt the bank, along with the stadium costs naturally, we're stuck with players like that and I can see Ndombele being a bit of an Ozil for us, lol.

Jose needs huge backing if we're to step up and improve in any way. He does need his team and players willing to play for the shirt to try anything really. I just can't see it happen. Jose isn't exactly known as Mr longevity so Levy might not be keen to spend because of that. Although it did seem like Levy has wanted Jose for a long time before we got him and maybe there's a chance he and Jose just click and it could see investments made, but I doubt it.

Definitely not judging Mourinho on this mess of a team of this season since Poch left and keen to see what happens. If things go further wrong, I'm of the mind it'll all be on Levy and how we recruit players and dump them on the manager as I'm more an old school fan that believes the manager should die by the sword if that side of things go wrong. I'd not blame Jose if he wasn't backed and walked because he got pushed into accepting/keeping players he may not like.

First thing we need is a new defence and leaders, Alderwierald and Vertonghen look like they've aged 10 years in a season or two, lol. f*ck knows what's happened to those as they were at one time probably the best centre back pairing in the league, lol.

Ahh, rant over. Gah!
