Anyways, just bade farewell to GTA IV. Next will be Max Payne 3. Will be playing it for the entire day today and finally delete it.

I'm still playing gta SA on my iPhone.

I am just sat here reading all the frenetic activity on this sub-forum and wondering one thing....

So I think I will carry on sitting in the quiet corner and keep schtum until a few days after launch, when things start to quieten down a bit. Until then, I feel my thoughts will just be missed. It'll give me a chance to write the next extract of the 'Holy Book' as well.

I don't know about you guys, but to me, it still seems fake. It doesn't feel like we're finally getting the game in less than 24 hours. When I look back at how far we've come. From the first announcement of the game, to now. So much has happened, and PC was always left at the back, the platform no one cared about. But now, in less than 24 hours, it'll be our time. It's time the PC got the attention it needed.

- after preload finishes downloading, does it automatically update the preload with a patch? or do i have to be at the PC to click a button?

- same goes for activation at 00:00 o'clock, do i need to be at the PC [given that the pc is on and steam running] in order for the game to activate?

Steam does an 'unlock check' every five minutes to see if a game becomes available. It will then download the Day 1 patch and the decode key for the final data decrunch....

 

If your Steam seems a little slow to unlock, just exit and restart it. It will perform a check as a startup requirement.

 

 

Could this by any chance be the reason why I've been getting some occasional micro-freeze every 5 minutes or so when playing a game?

It could be one of several reasons....

 

It all depends how quickly the Steam servers respond to one of several different check responces.

Guys the 5GB patch dwload would be slow right for dvd users after release date since the servers will be overloaded and many willl dwload at once?
