I read that the game does some "checks" when the preload is finished?

Well it just did for me.. but it really lasted.

It just checks if game is released or something.

What does the variety option do if like set it to full from 0

Nah. While this is the typical release time on Steam (10am PST/1pm EST/6pm GMT), big games will get midnights. Over the last 2 years, I've pre-ordered probably 10 AAA games and all of them had some form of a midnight release. Literally all. There is almost no chance GTA V doesn't unlock as late as server refresh.

 

Rockstar removed the countdown from GTA V on Steam ages ago and that countdown always applies to server refresh on release day. When these are removed its almost always indicative of a midnight. Its just a question of which midnight, because they can be different and dont always apply regionally.

 

 

I am really hoping for a midnight launch for individual time zones. Because me waiting for it to be midnight in California is bullsh*t, because that means I have to wait until 3AM my time.

That is the DirectX Package, the DirectX package hasn't changed.

DLC's have always been a part of GTA 5.

None are confirmed yet, but it could be how the bonuses are applied.

Probably for the future Singleplayer DLC and/or Sharkcards.

By the way, I deleted sh*tload of stuff, but I managed to have tons (well, for me, it is "tons") of free space.

Hey guys, I just restarted my Steam, and now beside GTA V it says "pre-load suspended". Anyone know what it means?

 

Mine just did that a minute ago as well when I started Steam. I went to the downloads page and a few other games installed some quick updates, then GTA V moved back to the top and shows as "Pre-load complete" again. Probably shows as suspended while it checks the current date, which might be part of the "update check" process.

We don't know yet. Possibly? Probably? No one can say with absolute certainty the unlock time of the Steam version right now.

 

If the unlock time on Steam is 12am PST (which a Rockstar rep stated earlier today in a support ticket), than no, it'd be whatever time that is in your timezone. Another rep said the same time as Rockstar's version. And another said midnight in every time zone. Literally 3 different answers for the same question from three different support staff.

You need 124 in total, including both the pre-load and the unpacking process (encrypted files are 59 gigs).

The way they answered sounds to me that you don't need extra space at all.

Finally some word from Rockstar (not doucher support) about the unlock time on Steam. This is from the Twitch stream.

 

 

Sounds like they're working out the details with Valve, so its just a wait for Newswire confirmation.

 

I would not be surprised one bit if we dont get an answer on it until Monday. I would bet on a form of midnight.

 

For historical perspective, MANY games (even big AAA games) on Steam wont get midnights confirmed until the day before. Shadow of Mordor's midnight didn't get confirmed until 2 hours before Midnight EST when it unlocked for everyone.
