buzzbass Posted May 21, 2013 Share Posted May 21, 2013 @ well there's 2 ways for finding the sun (actually we are looking just for brightest area of the screen): easy and very slow hard and abit faster 1st one is simple double cycle inside the enbeffect, that scans areas for their bright value and writes it into a register (for exaple that requires at least 400 iterations to scan whole screen with proper accuracy) 2nd one is more complex - weighting brightness with its coords, and 2D searching for the centre of mass (with proper values it should be sun, or just the brightest area) (this one will requie around 256 itarations to get almost same accuracy, but some additional problems may appear, like threshold and coordinates passing) if anyone understand anything - you're on ur way to success If I up the cycle over 400 the effect fails (maybe is my old pc...) and ~300 still not a proper effect (without mention the slowdown) About the second method I understand the process but my knowledges about are very limited for doing it with accuracy anyway someday ENB will bring a proper effect by default...
