Will Boris increase the shadow render range? I mean it is terrible when flying... no shadows can be seen.

 

Take a look at this image ... not a single shadow on ground... looks terrible imo

Kind of funny as reflection can be seen for miles from the surface and shadows don't render after 10-20 meters.

@gtarandom: i dont know if boris can change sth there, but if all shadows would be visible in this view distance i think you wouldnt have fps anymore because shadows needs much more fps than reflections

@boris (dont know if you read it biggrin.gif): i use effect.txt with fxaa3 (with changed values)+driver fxaa+smaa from sweetfx... but i think with the latest dll the edges on my car look more "jagged".. (i tried with the new AA enabled/disabled)

ye its quite a fps killer suicidal.gif i can happily do screens at that res though, but gameplay wise

i stick to SSAA=1 inlove.gif also i dont use a monitor. i use a £120 22 flat screen tv that i bought like 5 years ago lol.giflol.gif

Now i noticed that DKT is back, all best men icon14.gifsmile.gif the master of visual modding, especially of the timecyc files.

Hello guys, im new to this biggrin.gif Im using Icehancer 2.1 ENB :] but i still can't get my image HD enough. Any fix for that? i have option/txt or effect.txt and Nvidia Control Panel set my AA to 32x CSAA, 8x Supersample, AA Filtering 16x and everything high as possible just to smoothen the jagged edge.. please anyone confused.gif These is the picture i took, look at those edge...

I notice most of the people here have their GTA IV so Full HD tounge.gif and smooth..

I didn't any changes to effect.txt processing or it's parameters (except it new standart in 0.135 as i remember), so lower fxaa probably subjective.

 

GTARandom

Greater shadows drawing distance require more memory and performance to draw all visible objects second time will be horrible, game is already have bottleneck with this. Porting to dx11 may help, but it's the last thing i want to do for old game. I can try to do raytraced shadows, but they will have artifacts with movable objects (but may be all distant objects are static?).
