Before I start I would like this opportunity to apologise to the German modders, particularly to LordNeophyte, you're a great modder and your textures have been getting better and better. I never really left because of any germans, or other modders, I left for personal reasons. My mum was diagnosed with liver cancer back at the start of 2012 and it took/sucked the life right from me, so much so that I gave up work and my home to move in with her and become her full-time carer. The last 6 months have been sheer hell for my mum and me, and a month ago she passed away peacefully in her sleep. Anyway, trying now to piece my life back together and get back to living in the real world. Not looking for any sympathy or anything, just wanted to set a few old records straight, and now attempt to move on with my life. The guy who did the data recovery's son posted a couple screens of your recovered files in action, and wow! That was my mate's son, Rob. He lived with him for a short while because of something to do with his new flat, or whatever he was on about. But he's gone and upset his dad now by walking out on a top chef job, so he is constantly wanting food and money. I'm not even sure what he posted since he shouldn't have had access to my old stuff, it was his dad that recovered my old HD (now in the skip) and hung on to my data while I rebuilt my PC - I had a major catastrophic PSU blow-up, huge blue and white light show, small bang, and no PC. Anyway, current PC is not bad. Most bits recovered from bang, but I have a I5 2550k @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 1600 ram, GTX 660 2Gb vid card, Z77 Gigabyte motherboard, so not bad for a bit of GTA modding I want to finally finish Liberty City Textures Vol 2, they were coming along nicely, had a good res (not 1024, but 768x768) which played nicely with 1Gb cards. I would only return to ENB if Boris finally gets off his backside and fixes patch 7, then I would do a dedicated patch 7 ENB. Did he ever update ENB past 0.82 ? Interesting link, I see he still gets very angry with this game i dont want to say something about things in the past, but it is very nice from you, you wrote us whats happen with you and your family (my deepest condolences!)... Yeah, the past is the past. I needed some way of escaping from that modding life I was in, and I'm fairly sure many here often might feel trapped in some kind of never-ending modding cycle which is hard to break free. I cannot remember who told me, but someone once said to me it's like the modding equivalent of crack/heroin, and difficult to put down. I mostly agree. Anyway, what I said here and on gta-mods was wrong, and I apologise for that. It was the only way I could get out of this without telling everyone what was going on at home, and the potential risk of my mate or his son seeing a post about my family. If I can remember my login for gta-mods then I'll remove everything and post some sort of explanation. To others who have posted, thanks for the support. I WILL be resuming my textures, volume 2 was close to finishing when I left, so I just need to get my backups back and re-install everything. My Dad had an abdominal mass and we took care of him, doctor assisted, until his last breath. The things you see, hear and do really change a person. You did the right thing by giving up your life to take care of her. It's not easy. I hope doing whatever you want to do in or around the community with your presence will give you bit of uplift for your spirit. That was my mate's son, Rob. Still apologising now to people I upset in the past, in my area. Still, moving on is the only way to deal with this. I know what this does to a person. My mum had a small chance, she could have had this removed but delays and delays, and then queues taking 6 months to get seen by a specialist hospital. All these delays meant that by the time she got seen by a specialist it was too late, and she was told she was too old for the operation and she had a tiny chance of surviving the op. They told us that most over 50s, and 55-60+ had less chances of surviving the op which involves freezing the heart, removing the liver/kidney/breast etc.. That devastated all of us, especially the trip home which took 3 hours, that was 3 very uncomfortably sad hours where none of us said anything. The last 2 months were the worst 2 months of my life. My mum had lost the use of her legs, lost so much weight that she looked unlike my mum. I hope doing whatever you want to do in or around the community This is one thing that is now the next challenge. I moved out and gave up my own home, it wasn't great - only a 1-bed ground-floor flat - but I am now in my mum's old property and I am classed as unsupported because it's meant for 50+ age group. I had to fight to keep my tenancy, or I would be homeless, and now have to fight to stay in the area. This council, the housing owners, are real bastards and don't care for the tennant's problems or past, they want their property back.
