I only ever attempted the (2x) Mogul sale with about 7 people in my organisation, and I still lost an engine towards the end of it. The sales are all nightmares. The Hunter one is a  deliberate troll as it forces you to fly up and down the full length of the map several times to different drop points, and doesn't let you skip to the closest ones.

Also the Hunter source mission.

Fly to every corner of the map in a Hunter, destroy the Jammers and then then bring one Crate back? Nah mate, f*ck that.,

How much can you really save with the bob?

How much does it cost?

How many cars would you have to sell to have the bob pay for it self?

You'd have to sell 1,000 cars before you see a profit.

Just get the car and drive fast!

Well, the Cargobob doesn't just save money, but it can save time. NPCs can't ram you in the air after all and the R* Gang (Blue Sultans) tend to be bad at shooting at you if you're high enough up.

But each to their own. I invested in a Cargobob and I'm proud of it.

Sorry for being a rapid poster but OOOOH does this make me angry!

Lemme tell you about the piece of crap known as the SR Sell Mogul (Regular Mogul gets a pass, so no hate on that). That thing is can't take bullets to save its life. I'm still going to bring up the story of my last Mogul sell mission (even though it was a 100% success).

I manage to luck out by the police helicopters getting stuck on a pylon without crashing (which prevented respawning) and I was good to go. Masterful flying! Perfection! BUT ALAS! There appears to be itty bitty tiny puffs of white smoke on one propeller, but no worries, I'm down to my last crate! I will be a success! I am located slightly north of the horse track and my destination is north of the Alamo Sea. Plane Condition: Tiny puffs of smoke on the right engine.

BUT THEN!

When I was in the vicinity of the Bolingbroke the right engine's smoke immediately turned BLACK! Thick black evil smoke of doom! As I stare dumbfounded at the childishly rapid destruction of my plane for no reason I realize the Sell Mogul loses HP at a childishly fast rate thought up by childishly idiotic R* designers! I shall still make it. At the middle of the Alamo Sea, the right engine DIES! It has been MURDERED!

But no worries, right? Left engine is perfectly healthy no smoke. BUT I WAS WRONG! 5 seconds later it started to smoke black for no reason and both engines died just as I dropped the last package.

That mission is designed to fail you if you have the audacity to solo it. And let's not forget the tragedy of those poor souls who launched it in Zancudo and instantly got shot down by the Lazer.

f*ck  this mission and whoever ass backwards c*nt dick whore ass childish knobhead bellend who designed the HP of the Mogul for that mission. It's on par with Post OP.

You can create a crew, leave it, join it back in... and you not the leader anymore!
SC just gives your crew to another person. WTF?

I created that crew just so I can have custom crew colors but now I have to ask a random person for permission to get my own crew back...

R* logic...

Cargobob costs less than 2,000,000.00.

Cars sell for 80,000.00 profit with zero damage.

80,000.00 x 25 cars =2,000,000.00

So after 25 cars you have paid for the bob. And boring missions aside, your profit margin and dollars per minute will go up considerably.

Seriously, just a little common sense and critical thinking can keep you from looking the fool.

Since when could NPC's shoot through the floor of my car?

Long story short the NPC's in Headhunter hit me while I was hovering over them in my Deluxo, I can assure you that no part of me was visible through the windows and they could not have shot me at that angle.

Got bored of grinding for money, so joined a public lobby for the first time in ages. Went to exit hangar in Akula. Infinite black loading screen.

The 'bob's base cost is $1.179mil, I got mine on sale, but it's paid for itself in saving damages to cars.

The math:

I have done 242 sales as of last night, so to make the price of the 'bob I would have to save $4872 damages on average per car sold.

I occasionally get up to $2000 damage if a source mission goes badly haywire, I rarely get damage on a sell mission, but when I do the highest I've had was under $400.

The first few times I tried driving the cars I'd get $5000-6000 easily (and very quickly) when sourcing, and another few $1000 when selling.

Judging by that, the 'bob has paid for herself already.

That's not including the time saved.

That time has been spent making more money

Also the Cargobob can "bob" certain vehicles like the Cargo Crate ones (I think). It can bob something else that saves time as well.

You dont understand.

You are saying to use the bob to make sure you are getting the full 80,000 profit.

Well, if you don't use the bob what are you averaging?

Lets say you average 70,000 profit without the bob. This means you are only saving 10,000 a car when you use the bob. 2,000,000 divided by 10,000 = 200.

So, fool, you would need to sell 200 cars to break even.

Go back to school... :)

You're deliberately using a convoluted approach to the profit breakdown to prove your point when it's already clear that you're wrong. If you need to force your point across this hard, it's time to admit defeat.

Just accept that other people feel differently and move on.

I hope you are not in charge of anyone's money, not even your own.

This is not convoluted at all.

The reason to use the bob is to max out the profit, however without the bob I rarely take any damage in or out, so what good would be spending almost 2 million on something that saves so little?

It's a simple cost to benefit analysis that anyone with a brain can easily understand.

Wow....

Pistol and rifle ammunition can penetrate sheet metal with ease. Most of the underside of a DeLorean is some kind of fiberglass, which would be even weaker.

It's the accuracy of HH bodyguards that is beyond belief. :)

Which is why I prefer to do sightseer

No npc bodyguards to shoot back, only 3 checkpoints, not 4, and, the best bit, no wanted level

@Smokewood For me the Cargobob is less about saving money(as you've said, it's easy enough to do most I/E missions without one while taking minimal or no damage), but rather about saving time and frustrations. I got my Jetsam on discount about a year ago and I can't imagine ever going back to delivering I/E without it, it makes everything so simple and unstressful.

Source mission where you have to tail the gang car? Just alert them to get them to the I/E car faster, kill the enemies there, and Bob the car away with no threat of retaliation. A ton of time saved not having to either stay undetected while the car you're tailing takes its sweet-ass time or having to fight off more gang members after stealing the car.

Photoshoot source mission(or any other where helicopters are sent after you while returning the car)? Just kill the guards and Bob the car away, outrunning the helicopters that come after you as you do. They will catch up, but if you gain as much altitude as possible before they spawn you can make it most of the way to your warehouse before they catch up, and they'll only get a few shots into your Bob. No more stopping to take down 4 waves of helicopters and ground enemies.

Pink slips source mission? Complete the race(easy with the provided Elegy), then call in your Bob, go get it(there's always an airfield pretty close to the end of the race), and Bob the car away. No more dealing with the former owner's asshole buddies.

Source mission where the car is being raced around a circuit? No more need to damage the car in order to kill the driver and steal it. Just shoot one of the other cars(which causes all the racers to "panic" and scatter, but they actually slow down significantly), then get back in the Bob and hook the car as it slowly drives away.

And the best part for me is avoiding the waves of enemies when selling the car in a public solo session(which I'm usually in).

In the end of course it's up to you whether you still don't want to buy a Cargobob for I/E, but it sure has saved me a lot of time and stress while grinding, and I recommend it.

Real world logic yes, pistol ammo would shread any car apart from the armoured ones and Supercars would burst into flames witrh the slightest tap but this is GTA logic. I have never seen a bullet pass through the floor of a car apart from with HH goons. I have seen people in Lowriders flip their cars onto its side to act as a shield.

Excellent and spot-on post.

Only different thing is I never thought about shooting a different car in the race, but I have picked one up in motion with my bob.

I will admit that the source missions would be easier with it, however I usually just back out of the ones that are a pain (like the racetrack or the guy who stole the car you need to steal)

I usually also never use a solo session while I do I/E because of the NPCs. I just get in a friendly lobby and go about my business.

My issue is with how many people just blindly accept what they read without doing a cost to benefit analysis first.

My buddy uses the bob and when we sell cars together, I ALWAYS deliver mine before he does. It takes him time to pull the car into the street, then get into the bob, then pick up car, then start moving towards the waypoint. In the mean time, I am already 3/4ths the way to the drop off just driving the damn car....

Source a Mamba in Vinewood hills in the rain?

Oh yeah, it's the mission with the 'stay above 56 mph or the bomb blows' mission.

Almost instant fail without a Cargobob, and if the 'bob can't get to the car (like, if it's in a garage) then it's not worth attempting anyway.

Cargobob's great, saves time and money, and what else can pick up npc (or even player's) cars and toss them like a dwarf?

Man, I’ve probably sourced and sold about 5 or 6 top range cars now, with me having started this for my first time at the beginning of the week to scrape together some DLC money, and I haven’t once gotten the “stay above a certain speed” mission. I’ve done it and passed it before as an Associate, but I still haven’t gotten it as a CEO.

I am airborne with the car at 30 to 45 seconds. If the drop off is more than half a map away I will get there faster bobbing than driving.
