Why the f*ck is the word Rockstar forbidden in game text? The f*ck?

Yeah, let's not get into the whole "checking for profanity" or forbidden text thing.

 

During a King of the Castle event, this one player kept sniping me, despite my excellent cover.

 

I sent him a text message, "Nice shot!" which flagged the profanity check. After a minute, I sent him another text (the profanity check message still showing), writing, "Nice shot!" and it went through without a problem, the profanity check message went away and a message that "your message was sent" appeared.

 

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in the game, as the in-game characters say things far, far worse than most players say over the mic or in in-game messages.

 

Silly.

 

Had some guy randomly message me the word 'anal' which made me think 'I can't say Grapeseed, but can say Anal'.

Soooo many trolls in this game. All weekend every damned heist mission has been a pain to get through. There's always the one guy who deliberately leaves in the middle of the mission. On average it has happened on at least every second mission the last two days, but often we've spent 3-4 tries on a finale just because people leave it for no reason other than being annoying. 95% of the players in this game are either bad, cheating, griefing or trolling. I think my friends list consists of 90% of the good players in the game.

I think the darkside has finally taken me all the way in. And I can't stop it.

 

I used to never wear mask or helmets, I used to make fun of them. Now, the ornate skull and BP helmet are my mains. I track big CEO's or MC's to specifically slaughter them. I used to hate the Combat MG, and now it's my main killer. My character has so much of a certain "PED" in his system, that he should look like Barry Bonds. And I have no remorse or care for the damage and stress that I cause for people. I'm nothing but a bloodthirsty killer now, hellbent on causing chaos. It's even worse when I have my crew with me. We literally take turns on killing people.

What really grinds my gears is when your doing an adversary mode or job whatever but for me mostly adversary mode anyways it's when a player leaves and your stuck in a ruining your fun type of position,not sure if you get what i'm saying but i will give you an example. Ok so for example,your in an adversary mode where there are 3 others besides you and there are 2 teams ok? Now right in either the middle of the first round or the next round your teammate leaves leaving you in a 2v1 then you continue to play and your surprisingly kicking that other teams butt just by yourself and one of there teammates decide to leave making either that player who's left on that team leave or him or she just not even trying so therefore you just kill them without breaking a sweat. So do you understand where i'm coming from? Oh and one more thing that irritates me is when your in an adversary mode playlist and the next game mode comes in the playlist but you have no players with you so you do auto invite and all skilled matched players but no one ever joins! Leaving you to quit the adversary mode playlist completely.

I feel like some of the things Rockstar have done (making it much easier to get by with very little effort) have made the average player much weaker than they used to be. I mean, is it just me, or does the average person play like they've had a lobotomy or something?

 

Used to be (if you can believe it) that you could actually be quite vulnerable flying a jet thanks to snipers. Used to be that the art of sniping jets was quite widespread, and you'd often get peppered with bullets. Now people insist on not aiming for themselves, on attempting to have the kill given to them by the homing launcher, and they just get killed over and over and over again while that sh*tty thing misses.

 

I mean, it comes to something when I'm able to get a lot of kills in a helicopter ... People are so gullible that after the umpteenth time I've crept behind buildings and blown them up, they still insist on not switching up their tactics. I'm left feeling like, "Come on! Stop letting me kill you! Snap out of it you idiot!"

 

It isn't fun fighting brain-dead zombies who've devolved so much after all the hand-holding that they can't play the game for sh*t. I guess I should be grateful, since it makes my helicopters usable, but still - I miss when players actually kept me on my toes.

 

Now ... Now it's almost kind of creepy how badly people play. People don't try at all. It's like, all people can be bothered to do is throw the most half-assed attack they can think of. Which is boring as f*ck since it ends up completely one-sided for me.

 

I blame Rockstar. It's like, hey don't actually worry about running out of ammo - you can have it all right here in the menu whenever you want. Just spam as much cr*p as you can. Oh and don't bother actually trying to win sniper battles - just tap on the dpad and we've made it so you can instantly blow yourself up. Why bother trying to play when you can just take the lazy way? Don't bother travelling to the airport for the Hydra - we stuck it at every helipad in town. Oh and just have a Buzzard at your feet at all times - don't think that you should actually have to go and collect one.

 

This isn't even really a rant against the homing launcher, or even the things I mentioned up there - it's at how this stuff has made players devolve so badly. Used to be you see someone a fair bit above rank 120, and you'd know they'd be a challenge. Now, you see people 300+ and they can easily be a joke. At best, you might get some guy who just blows himself up a few times. But that falls under the same kind of thing - just not even trying, expecting to have the game just hand you everything.

 

Its turned people into zombies in my opinion. I miss when lobbies were actually exciting, because you had players whose minds were actually all there, and were putting some effort in, so actually posed a vague threat.

I think the weekly events are to blame. Ranks that are inflated from ×2 RP events. People have ranked up so fast that their skill level does not match their rank.

 

TBH I don't even take most players seriously until around 375.

 

Edit: I once met a player around rank 200 and he didn't even know what the interaction menu was or how to open it.

The armored Kuruma doesn't get it's own map icon while the Insurgent does, even though both cars run on the exact same logic. After a particularly annoying night involving multiple sh*theads and their armored Karumas, I now blow up any of them I find sitting around in freeroam. It'll never stop being worth that 20k insurance payment. Bonus points if it has a rancid color combo or an IGN or Weed crew emblem.

 

I also can't stand the tryhard freeroam warriors who care about their k/d ratio like it matters in this game. Freeroam battles give you access to some of the most imbalanced sh*t imaginable like BST, suicide, off radar, Ghost Organization, Hydras, the ability to dance back and forth with sniper rifles, etc. Like good job I guess, why don't you f*ck off and go play a game with even a shred of balance to it if all you care about is your k/d?

 

Tryhard starter pack:

Tactical gear/juggalo face paint with white hair and demonic looking contact lenses/both.

Kills himself at the first nanosecond of trouble.

Becomes a CEO to do everything but CEO work.

Calls passive mode "pussy mode"...while ironically going off the radar.

Can't snipe without a marksman rifle and a DDR pad under his feet.

Actually cares about their's and other people's k/d.

Travels exclusively in Pegasus vehicles, mostly the Hydra.

 

This game's community is the worst. There is no online community worse than GTAO's.

Guessing he was in a lobby with one other player, other guy leaves (you can see the notification early on) and dudes car then catches on fire from the lobby becoming "empty" while he has vehicle cargo out.

 

It's happened to me once, I wasn't quite as close to my warehouse at the time and of course it was also a top range so I had even less hope than this guy did at the time. Really irritating to get punished for something you didn't cause to happen.

I was going to post this in share your stories but it's definitely a bitch and moan post.

 

A random creeped up on me when waiting for a friend to export couple of vehicles so I killed him in his Kuruma, I can't vouch for most players these days but then my friend told me to "yo chill" there was no indication of that person being friendly.

 

Maybe next time I should let a random blow us up then I won't be complained at for f*cking trying to help.

Update to a previous B&M: Rockstar Support called my bluff when I asked to speak with Tier 2 support about getting out of Bad Sport early. I got a response from Tier f*cking 3 giving me the same copy paste speech as everyone else.

Those NPCs are ridiculous. I decided to experiment with the Armoured Boxville in its respective VIP work and those NPCs could take a quarter of the vehicle's health away in 5 seconds, and that's just from a single car. Would hate to get it stuck right as those cars showed up.

 

Curiously though, the helicopters that chase you after a few waves seem to be rather subdued and inaccurate, unlike the ones in vehicle sourcing/selling. Odd move on R*'s part, but hey I'm not complaining. Needed a break from the executive helicopters of instant death in I/E work.
