So bottom left of the picture pretty much confirms the 105 GB free-hard-drive-space needed. 😜

GUNSLINGERS PLAY PREPARED

Make sure you have enough hard drive space for one of the biggest games of the year!

The FO76 Xbox Beta is the 23rd, so they'll have a few days of hype before RDR2 drops, then PC/PS4 beta on the 30th, they'll no doubt maximise the exposure from the PC beta by giving keys to every streamer and youtuber in existence. Makes more sense then having all three platforms have the beta on the 23rd, tbh - though not like that was an option as MS have the marketing deal I believe?

It'll probably be fine, there will be plenty of console players not interested in RDR2 but are interested in FO76 and ofc the PC crowd who don't have a choice in the matter. It's a little funky that this is pretty much a stress test and not a test of mechanics/gameplay (given the close proximity to the games launch). Probably not an ideal time to do the test but they have to do it at some point.

Now tell me one person who isn't interested in RDR2.

I don't know a single one.

I wouldn't take it as a 100% confirmation but it's interesting nonetheless...

Some people aren't interested in westerns in general so there's that.

Wheres the most likely place to find every page of that guide online? I use to buy guides in the olden days. No point these days when many are going to rip it off and post it.

There are:

82M PS4

40M Xbox One

500M+ Windows 10 users

RDR 2 should sell around 25-30M

I think there will be enough people to have interest in other games, lol

I literally know a sh*tload of people that aren't interested.

It will be just like the first Redemption. It will catch on like wildfire once it's released, and many that "aren't interested" will get the game out of curiosity.

Heh, yeah. They were having a pain the ass (quite literally) and I don't know much about the taste of their managers.

Still, we saw posts from some employees saying that it was amazing.

So, a few pages back(I forgot to quote it), someone suggested that maybe Rockstar are being relatively tight lipped this week due to the release of OPM. That was then shot down because OPM was released two days ago.

That's not how it would work though, is it? Yeah, released two days ago, but it doesn't stop selling after two days. Not only that, but the trailer is made to bring in new buyers, which would be the same type of person who doesn't rush to purchase a mag with a cowboy on the cover on the day/week of release. I'd say the original scenario makes perfect sense as a possible explanation of the possibly "unnatural" delay of new info being released. And if those possibilities = reality, gameplay 2 should reveal significant new stuff that makes the previews outdated.

Went from playing on the cautions side of speculation to speculating wildly there, but I guess that is how it goes. I didn't even know there was a normal schedule for trailer-releases until I came here, and am still not sure what that schedule would actually be.

It was me but you have put my thoughts much more succinctly...

There is definitely a connection here...

No delay .. Let the public hit the shelves first because gameplay hadn't been released... Part of the R*/PS deal..

True, yeah. Only difference this time, there'll be already many many more day-one buyers than back in the day (when RDR1 released).

It might sell up to 20 million copies before Christmas, I'm quite sure.

Actually Xbox numbers are higher, about 55-60M

Quite a lot of users have both consoles.

Still with you tho. 25-30 M sales.

My brother isn’t interested. He’d rather play COD Black Ops IIII. That “Blackout” Beta sold him on it instantly. I gotta admit, most fun I’ve had in a Battle Royale out of all the current ones that’s out lately but I feel this way towards him now. JK of course... He’ll end up getting it though. He’ll cave in.

One of the most amazing things about this game is that the world lives WITHOUT you ... like the gang members also get haircuts, etc.

It's not as in previous games where certain or most things would only be 'doable' for the player but the rest of the world's/games' characters, etc. would always stay the same for the entire game!

25-30m lifetime sales is a realistic figure. The only games with substantially more than that have been bundled with consoles or have a million different versions across a million platforms. Except for GTA V, of course, and RDR2 isn't GTA.

Here are a few first-hand observations: I had a vague interest in westerns but not enough to be very interested in RDR1 on release. I had also never been a fan of shoot-em-ups, and thought RDR was more that kind of a game. So despite buying every GTA and being relatively aware and exposed to RDR's release, I steered clear initially. It took me two years to come around(because I needed something to play and it was super cheap, so I finally researched and realized what it actually was).

Fast forward to 2018: A family member of mine loves several other open world games and horses, but RDR2 wasn't even on her radar until I messaged her the link to Wildlife this week. She LOVED it. To me, that's the unpredictable bit here: So many potential fans out there(moreso than RDR1), but it can be very difficult/random to get them hooked.

I'd say 50 million lifetime sales is totally doable! It comes bundled (PS4 Pro bundle!) and well, obviously it'll be a system seller just as GTA V is ... everyone who buys a new console is likely to buy a copy of RDR2 with it ... maybe they even continue to buy GTAV (I'm sure they will).

This is some crazy stuff for R* ... they will have 2 of their games (one of which is five years old!!!) topping the charts beginning October 26th. Crazy!

The idea might be to release that 2nd gameplay video as close to release as somehow possible ... to let the world know about the existence of this masterpiece one last time before release ... I reckon many many many people, uninterested in RDR2 before, will jump on the train after seeing the 2nd gameplay video. It'll be glorious!

I should have been more specific, the bundles I referred to weren't optional. Games like Wii Sports etc, they came with every console. Bundles like the RDR2 bundle will obviously help sales in some way or they wouldn't do them, but it isn't gonna be the difference between 25m and 30m copies sold. 50m is an insane figure to achieve with just three platforms, it's highly unlikely IMO. That'd be beyond Take-Two's wildest expectations I bet.

Aside from the annual shooters (CoD, BF) and maybe Fifa, the only game this gen that has crossed the 20M mark is Fallout 4

30M+ is no easy task, even for a massive game like RDR 2

I just can't wait for the UK charts, following the release of RDR2.

It'd certainly put a smile on my face seeing RDR2 on top (that's really a no-brainer!) and GTAV in 2nd (that's a wish but certainly can happen).
