Wouldn't be hard to fake. Could easily be real. No point in working yourself up about this one, tbh.

It's actually a pretty cool fan made trailer.

The launch trailer is going to get downvoted to hell, mark my words.

Why would you think that?

This whole 100 hrs/week situation. Add on the certainty of MTX, Metcritic users scores will probably get bombed, too (I know it's Metacritic, but still). Rockstar f*cked up bad.

Maybe. And nothing will happen after that.

Mate, the average player gives f*ck all about that stuff. Not to mention, this literally comes up every time a R* game releases or any big title, it's nothing new. On top of all that, Houser already clarified what he meant, being that himself and the other writers were the ones working those hours.

You guys make mountains out of molehills. I promise this won't even phase them even slightly. Like a gnat hitting the windshield of a semi truck.

I never said it would affect sales. It won't in any significant sense. But that's not the point. They already had a shaky reputation, and this just compounds upon that. Yeah, Houser offered a clarification. But if you look at the prevalence of severe crunch in Rockstar's past and in the industry at large, his words seem to be suspect.

Again, none of that matters to the average person (most people). Neither reviews on metacritic or YouTube will be affected at all. Of course a few folks, but the overall reception will be hugely positive as always.

Nothing will happen. The certainty for MTX has existed for all of RDR2's trailer. Yet has had no affect. This 100 hour situation will have no affect either. Because, quite frankly, people don't give a sh*t. And the ones that do are such a small minority, their impact will be felt like trying to sink a battleship with a pea shooter. Bottom line, people want to play good games... RDR2 looks like a good game. People aren't suddenly going to downvote the launch trailer over this.

Gonna keep it real with people, the average joe could give a sh*t. Look at the TellTale games situation, most people were more concerned about not getting the finale of Clem's story than the horrible management that fired almost all employees with no severance.

Just how entertainment typically works, unfortunate but its the reality we live in. Just because all the video game journalist, developers and pundits are upset it doesn't mean casual gamer Carl or Suzy care, they see a fun game and a nice trailer they like it and buy it.

Simple as that.

Hard to believe there's only ten days left. Are we going to get some kind of clock on the top of the forum to count down? I remember we had one for previous Rockstar games in the past.

I'm just waiting for it to hit midnight here so I can offically freak out and say we're in the single digits of days left, since I think most of us will be getting it Thursday or trying to. lol

The problem is a weakness inherent to unregulated capitalism. Naive folks (and cynical ones) will say the market will eventually punish bad actors if it cares enough, but it seldom does; consumers are inherently selfish creatures who only care about their experience, not what it took to satiate them. As long as the product is good (or at least addictive), the companies won't be punished for anything they do. That's what regulation is for.

So... wanna stop crunch? Make it a labor law. Until then, we may as well stop kvetching about it because it's been a hot topic for years and nothing has changed except for companies' willingness to be honest about it.
