As long as the microtransactions are kept out of singleplayer I think there reputation will be fine. I never had an issue with shark cards in GTAO, just the ridiculous content they added to sell them.

The game will sell more because of this. Now Rockstar is on everyones mind. See the resetera thread about dan houser interview nobody cares it got 10k views? now last i checked the 100 hour workweek thread which was started later was already at 100k. plus all the articles in the gaming sites including all foreign gaming sites, they are clearly making millions of more people aware rdr2 is launching soon.

 

this is nothing they cant fix if it will even ever blow over which i doubt. yea maybe 100 people wont buy the game now but maybe a million or more will who wouldnt before.

 

i am suprised only at the gaming sites so willingly reporting on this. its like they cant ever mention anything bad about a rockstar game so they use this as a valve for their deep rooted aggression against rockstar. but i am glad one time the gaming journalists actually write their BS clickbait articles not against the good companies as ubisoft who create amazing detailed fun games every year for us with passion and great devs.

It's quite possibly a record number for a realistic styled game (in other words, stuff like Pokemon doesn't count). RDR1 had 38, Zoo Tycoon had 101, etc etc.

Odyssey already seems to have a couple of dozen species underwater its probably the best looking underwater game ever. That does not include sharks, dolphins and different kind of whales that are in the game.

 

Its a massive gameworld too and I find the horses in AC Odyssey look much better. I do look forward to first person view tho in RDR2 and the new cinematic cam mode, just dont force me to tap x all the time this is ridiculous. Also one thing Odyssey got really right is the photomode and the atmosphere in some lightning situations like when sun goes down or at night. It looks really amazing and I think better than rdr2 in these situations, not so much at day tho. Origins looked better at day. There is also rain in Odyssey finally and it adds to the amosphere but I just replayed RDR1 on xbox one BC and added the rain cheat and man the rain in rdr1 already looked better haha. I cant wait for rdr2.

I have a feeling forums only make everyone dumber and the smarter people have moved on to their own social media pages where they can actually be someone. You guys run around in circles discussing the same exact things every 2 hours i am back to odyssey like many people who also love rdr and will get rdr2.

Depends on the place. Some stores will start handing out copies at 9pm so they don't have queues at midnight for security reasons.

Last week when COD released, it was supposed to be a 9 pm release according to the GameStop employee I spoke with.

 

When I showed up at 8, they were already handing out games.

 

(I was there to pay on my RDR2 preorder)

If you order from GameStop, just call first to make sure they are doing an early release. Not all GS's are the same.

Just to clarify on the Black Ops 4 situation: Activision gave permission to stores worldwide to start handing the game out at 6pm the day before launch because the game had a mandatory 50gb day one patch if you wanted to play online. They didn't want the launch day experience to be everyone downloading 50gb, basically.

 

No guarantees that Rockstar will do something similar here.

Either way they are still handing out games at 9 here, I made sure to specifically ask that question.

 

For V it wasn't the case, the store was open but didn't give out games until midnight. I'm too old for that nonsense lol.

Yea I think the 9pm thing is relatively recent. Stores and publishers realising that keeping people out until potentially well past midnight (cause of the queues) in the middle of October/November isn't really a great idea lol
