I wouldn't feel too bad for Rockstar or say stuff like they can't win lol.

They're about to make hundreds of millions of dollars next week and have their work get universally acclaimed by the worlds gaming press.

When RDO  release do you think everyone are going to abandon story mode like they did with gta 5?

by the fake gaming press since anyone ever giving a bad review for a rockstar game wont be invited to special threatment anymore.

For experimental purposes, I wanna stuff Arthur until he's max fat and then go Into the grizzlies for awhile until I'm starved and look like Seth lol I wonder how long that'll take.

You went a different direction than I thought you were gonna go...I thought you were gonna have a Fat-Guy-Rolling-Down-The-Mountain contest. 😄

Yes. Bravo to rockstar. Every single one of them! And what's more is they have made it clear many times there is no one man in this sh*t. This is a ROCKSTAR STUDIOS game. Not only have literally all their studios collaborated on this masterpiece, but rockstar games as a whole has always represented their whole company. They never wanted to put a face of success and thanks on one person.i respect them so f*ckin much for so many reasons and that too is a big one. I seriously hope one day I will get recognition from them and be able to provide a song for GTA or something. I just love rockstar. Especially their story... Did you know they are rockstar because they wanted to be big musicians? But they found the passion and most talent for games instead?? Yeah. R*, is a calling back to their first dream ever... Imagine how that makes me feel, in a good way!! 🎶 And the housers love hip hop ❤🎶

Ok I did the proper math and its probably 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thats brutal, but as long as they are compensated its all fine.

Not really as anyone outside of Rockstar's preferred group of press can still review the game.

Publishers bribing the gaming press is a conspiracy theory that hasn't held much weight in a long time.

then please explain why gaming journalists praised rdr1 random events like its re-inventing the game.... and gaming journalists gave gta 4 98/100 scores if not because they wanted more invitations and special threatment by rockstar in the coming decades of their gaming journalist life. i promise its the last time i ask if i ever get a good answer, not that anyone has to just saying :) i like rockstar games but i dont think they should be rewarded for their shady marketing

Because they were incredible revolutionary games that changed gaming forever?

Eh I guess you're right. What my mind frame was on was because of this outing, could reviewers take points and sh*t just because of this incident being spread around? That'd be pretty dumb imo but in our world constantly spreading misinformation for clicks and all I would not be surprised... And you do know more about the games industry than I so I'm genuinely asking.

Because in 2010 it was reinventing the game? You must not realise how far open world games have come since the launch of the 360 and PS3. RDR1's random events were a major step forward in making the game world feel alive. Not that those events alone are what the games review scores are solely built on, of course.

This one is a bit iffy. The thing is a lot of IV's criticisms came months after launch. At launch no one had ever played an open world game like it. The scale of the city, the level of detail, the mindblowing physics engine that's still revered by GTA fans today, no one had played anything like it at the time.

I mean, we're talking about Rockstar blacklisting journalists if they give bad press on the day that the company is being condemned by the worlds gaming press for the work hours because of something Dan f*cking Houser said in an interview lol

If you go back and read what IGN and Gamespot said about San Andreas, the previews, before the game was out (they’re still on the internet), they are NOT like what we were expecting it to be. They mentioned rag doll physics, they mentioned peds being aware, they spoke so highly of the game, because that’s what they’re paid to do. It’s still one of the best in the franchise, but seriously, go back and read it!

Here’s the article on IGN

I remember back in May 2010 right before release of RDR there also was an article about hellish conditions at R* San Diego.

Welp, some things never change.

Well up at Rockstar North in Scotland they'll be about midway through their 14 hour shift I think.

lol:

We also know that the main character, Carl Johnson, needs to eat in order to survive. And unless he keeps a balanced diet, can become incredibly skinny or grossly overweight.

its kinda impressive how rockstar sticks to their winning formula and never changes too much

So I was just thinking about tye weight thing. If we get super fat or skinny it would impact missions and cutscene's also right? Like when Arthur is sliding down that roof in the rain.

This maybe a naive outlook to this whole situation or life in general.. I'm gonna say it anyway.

To make something memorable, great & timeless, Especially stuff like music, movies or any other means of entertainment..Blood, sweat & tears have to be put in to it. Spending just a fraction amount of time on anything, then going home and enjoying the leisures of life isn't going to make something great. You wanna do or make something great, you gotta make sacrifices.

Having said that, I do hope R* compensates all the employees accordingly for working their asses off to help ship the game.
By what everyone has said about the game so far.. They've earned it as far as I'm concerned.

Actually if theres one game that proves that Rockstar can get crappy game reviews, its Red Dead Revolver.

Yes they do.

Lets not act like this is some story drummed up to be a hit piece aimed at Rockstar. It's one part of a much larger and often criticised part of the industry. These crunch times are bad, you cannot in any shape or form twist it to being good. You can also not at all blame the employees for it, quitting a job in the industry because of crunch means you're gonna need a change of career and probably have to relocate. That's not a practical solution for everyone, many of them will have families and children.

We all love Rockstar. We don't have to always love their methods.

f*ck whats the topic here such a bullsh*t. There are crunsh times in every industry. When we prepare for fairs Im also working 70 hous plus. And? Sometimes that happens. If you like your job you signed up for overtimes are nothing bad. They wont do this for free but of course there are some prople who dont like it.

Strauss Zelnick summarized it perfectly

„ It is a very busy time, but it's a time that people are anxious to participate in. And I stand behind it“

I preordered mine from the Rockstar Warehouse and got next day shipping so I’m expecting mine to come 26th, is it possible that it’ll come early?

doubtful as they dont want leaks and have the highest security/time standarts in the industry. not even amazon is getting the game early for release day shipping. not even the xbox predownload is up yet or showing in the "manage game" tab which it usually always does. I expect it to arrive on release if you have bad luck (or delivery truck drivers on a 10 hour shift) maybe later, and the pre-download for xbox probably is only available like 3 days early as on playstation.

also since this keeps getting asked too understandingly, the size of 88gb thats showing in the xbox store is very likely including the 4K assets as some other games have been shown in the store like this too. the 4K assets for xbox one x can be up to like 25-30gb so the game on standart consoles should be already 50-55gb, i wonder if *part* of the reason they cut 5 hours is so it would fit on the gamedisc.
