You people who are turning off the HUD, are you going to turn off the thing on the bottom right that shows Arthur's contextual actions as well? That could get confusing.

Turn off the hud? Why not have it the Dark Souls way: It disappears until you perform an action then disappears again.

I seem to recall the HUD was very customizable.
I'm mostly ditching the minimap, health bar and ammo count.

Definetly gonna need the contextual actions, though.

I've been saying that since Dark Souls 3 came out, a LOT more game should have that in-between option of having the HUD gone when you don't need it, and it coming back when you do.

Monster Hunter World kinda tried, but in a gigantic oversight, they forgot to let us see what kind of health we lost and what's left when we take a hit.

Horizon and God of War were great at HUD options. You could have it completely off when you're exploring and then on in combat. Horizon even had the ability to make it appear while exploring by swiping the touchpad too.

No minimap sounds like it might be the way to go for RDR2 though, what with the NPC interactions it'll bring.

Once I get my sense of orientation I might set the map to "blips only" otherwise I tend to stare at the minimap more than the rest of the screen

Yes but they have studios all over the world. R* North in Scotland was founded way before R* became a thing and was known as DMA design and they created GTA.

They also created Lemmings back in the day. What a leap! 😂

I noticed recently that I look at the mini-map in RDR1 way too much, when something as little as a map rotation happens my eyes get distracted, and they are glued to the path on the mini-map.

It gets very annoying.

I really did appreciate God of War a lot more because of this.

I honestly hate intrusive HUDs cluttering my view and reminding me this is just a game.

Still a pretty solid game.

If they had a compass bar, I'd go for it. But otherwise, I'm not sure. I know every GTA map like the back of my hand, but as much as I love the clean, empty HUD. I can never enjoy playing without them for long. RDR's wilderness might help though. Feel a bit more natural to turn it off.

know what you mean, it's like the map indicates my true postition and the screen just allows me to make minor adjustments, and I'm like "what the hell stop staring at the map this is not how I'm supposed to play the game"

Just watched some Fallout 76 gameplay. I think you should see a doctor if you buy that game over RDR 2.

You could just say you wouldn't understand, and leave it at that.

I know I wouldn't understand either, and I don't care, as long as I get to play RDR2 in about two weeks, anyone can play whatever the f* else they want.

Word. I wont be going near Fallout 4.2. Who's trying to use the Fallout combat system in multiplayer? I know someone who's plan is to finish RDR2 in like 4 days so he's ready for the Fallout BETA. I had to hold my clenched fist back when he told me that.

I´m 33 and hype as never before, in spite of wild west is not my cup of tea (I am gta lover).....however, I feel it will be something big.... when I´ll be 50 and be waiting for GTA 8, I will be hype again :D It´s in our blood, not in age......we are a playin´ generataion....

I have a fresh baby (4months) and there´ll be no time to play.....I think a weeks of nights will be the right solution for me.

I would say chances are high that next week Rockstar is releasing a teaser trailer for RDR2 Online. Full reveal will happen after release.

the week after we will see the launch trailer and finally the release afterwards

I am not being biased or mean, but I watched 5 minutes of F76 gameplay and I'm sorry but it's straight up bad.

So RDR II interaction system is similar like Shadow of Mordor/War? every NPC has their own unique dialogues? If thats the case then we wont see the same playthrough's on YouTube. Which is why i liked Shadow of War in the first place everyone had their own stories with the orcs etc...

I hope its the same with RDR II. Because i really want to tell a story about Arthur Respecting Wahmen.

All those companies releasing online multiplayer games only. It is like they surrendered and left the market for Take Two and Sony as the only developers for AAA Singleplayer titles

Doubt it. Can't see a Rockstar employee accidentally retweeting something of this type.

Not that it's 100% proof that it's Bully yet, as a quick look at her Twitter feed shows she retweets a lot of industry related job openings and things of that sort lol.

I won't take that as confirmation nor 50% proof, lots of developers share what other developers post and share.

She retweeted that because it would provide jobs for some people, and not as a secret message for us.

Not exactly.

There's a bit of that, like NPCs will remember what you did if there were witnesses to your actions.

But every NPC you meet, you can just interact with, and then interact again after they replied or reacted, but it's another kind of interaction based on what they just did or said.

Bleh.

No HUD, sure.

Free aim? Nah, I'll wait for the PC version for that.

I played both rdr and gtav on hardcore mode, a much much better experience. All you do on autoaim is press l2+r2.

Some sites here in Brazil also had the opportunity to play RDR2. ** More previews soon ** Probably this week. Details that an IGN Brasil journalist just talked about in Live Live from Brazil Game Show (Event of games that is going on here).

*Saint Dennis is HUGE! .

*If you kill someone and get their hat, other people will recognize.

*There are barber shops in and out of Saloons.

*Keep your gun in the holster when riding, too, to avoid problems. More to come ...

None of the two are ideal, as far as I'm concerned.

Auto-aim is too easy, and free-aim is too tedious with a controller.

The closest thing would be having an actual gun like they have in Time Crisis arcades (or the gun sold with Duck Hunt on NES), the next best thing is a mouse. Hence why I'll just go with auto-aim, until the game hits PC.

One little thing I would like is the ability to just lean against buildings, tree's and rock formations, etc. Such a simple little action can go a long way for immersion. Maybe even optionally have Arthur smoke a cigar(ette) as the scenery rolls past. Wolf whistle as pretty bo...err, I mean fair maidens walk past.

True, at the same time though, developers will act and react to the market and the customers demand. If developers realises low effort multiplayer games are selling well and through microtransactions, gaining a steady revenue out of it, then obviously more developers will follow the trend as it is profitable. The customers indirectly, at least to a certain degree control what developers produce through their behavior. I will be happy and enjoy RDR 2 regardless of what other people purchase, but the overall trend in the industry is really bad, and we can partially blame ourself for this.

For anyone that's bothered about little subtle details:

Spoiler

Apparently from one of the articles, after Arthur dies...he this time spawns near a building leaning against it, i hope this time around you can actually do that! maybe even spark up a cigarette and just enjoy the time of day.
