I didn't come here to discuss Bully 2

I bet the guy who was posting the rockstar tweets took a lunch break or something

See? This is what I'm saying. I don't know about anyone else, but I was fine with the amount of NPC's around in GTA V. If there were just 1000, that's going to be more than plenty. Even if there were 200 something NPC's for big cities like Saint Denis, that still leaves plenty for the smaller cities, countryside, etc. Plus the idea of them being unique? I am pumped.

Yes but they have studios all over the world. R* North in Scotland was founded way before R* became a thing and was known as DMA design and they created GTA.

Ok I gotcha, was confused the wiki says it’s an American company founded in New York. Thanks for the clarification

How many NPC voice actors are in GTAV?

I know that section of the credits goes on for quite a while

imagine this

you come home from your game store, red dead redemption 2 in hand

you rip off the plastic with your bare hands and gently place the disc into your console

its time

all that waiting

all those sacrifices

its time to play Red Dead Redemption 2

you watch the intro, it’s gripping and you feel fully immersed

then, the moment you’ve been waiting for. you’re about to control arthur

then, you feel your controller vibrate, you hear a ringing in the game

its a phone

Arthur picks it up, who the hell has a phone in 1899?

”Cousin, it is your cousin! Let’s go Bowling”

You are forgetting that voice actors mostly voice up to 25 npc's.

Skyrim had a total of about 50, including main characters. About 20 when you count npc's only

I MacGyvered the games IMDB page and copy and pasted the list of actors into Notepad, coming out at 853 lines/actors.

Probably not 100% accurate by any means though.

Also saying "1000 voice actors" just sounds good. It's probably around 1000 maybe a little more maybe a little less

I wasn't fine with their quality, however.

They turned hostile or ran scared when you stopped and looked at them for more than 5 seconds.

Being able to interact with NPCs in RDR2 like normal human beings is going to feel like such an amazing change of pace.

Probably is a case of rounding up. However, for sake of the argument, even if it was 800, that's a hell of a lotta people. Imagine 800 people in a room.

A big difference with RDR2's NPC's is that, according to Rockstar, they're all able to be interacted with. So the voice work on them all presumably is a bit more in depth than the typical rando GTA NPC.

Unique NPCs for the whole map, I think it's impossible, but I believe we will not see the same NPC in the current town we are, only when we go to another town.

Played GTAV for the last time last night, it annoyed me how you could say hello to the npc and theyd say hi back, but then stop responding when you said hi again, and if you tried to say Hi a thrid time you'd just insult them and they'd get hostile or run away

Franklin: Hi!
NPC: Hey there
Franklin: What's up?
NPC: *ignores you as if you no longer exist*
Franklin: "BITCH!!!!!!!"

Incidentally, I hope there is a Mongo type character who can punch out horses.

Well you won't have in depth conversations in RDRII either.

Occasionally you will stumble upon something, and people will say different things, but no way, to script every single one of the 1000 NPCs to have individual long dialouge trees.

Sure, there interaction will be a big leap from V, and there will be different answers, but don't expect actual real life conversations.

What's sad is, even GTA:San Andreas had more options than that.

No HUD, sure.

Free aim? Nah, I'll wait for the PC version for that.

Interacting with an excess amount of NPCs is the last thing on my todo list. I want to save their interactions for multiple playthroughs, and to make the Aftergame feel newer longer. If they come across me naturally, sure I'll interact with a few. But Im not going to go down the street trying to talk to them all. Im not going to stop and talk to every idiot out in the middle of nowhere while Im on my way to my fishing and hunting spots.

Definately going for full immersion. No mini map, no HUD, not even subtitles. However still on the fence with free aim. Thinking at least assisted aim because to be realistic, it's pretty easy to draw a gun in at least the general area of your target.
