I wish they would have waited a little longer  I get it though. We’ve waited so long and a spoiler would just ruin the whole experience

There's maybe a bit of confusion among people as to what the Church is for I think.

 

Basically there were a growing amount of members who were wanted to stay active on the forum till launch but due to the risk of being exposed to spoilers and leaks were going to leave till after launch. The Church is aimed at those people, due to the Church member group only having access to the Church and no other part of the forum and the approval process for posts/threads for non-Church members there is a security net around the Church which means the risk of being exposed to any sort of spoiler or leak is significantly lower then it is on the public forums.

 

You can participate in the Church without applying for the member group. The opt-in part is only if you want the extra security from spoilers and leaks.

 

It's maybe a little premature but it's better to set it up early rather than have a mad rush to set it up and get people into the groups when leaks start dropping, which could be as soon as this week.

And were are the spoilers to be precise? i don't mind getting spoiled since i will not be playing the game for few weeks since i have to get a new PS4 even though i am getting RDR2 on launch day.
