I used to work in QA and while yes, it's absolutely long and tedious work, it's also extremely rewarding too. Honestly, one of the worst parts is the loads of paperwork associated with it (bug reports, tracking, follow up/supplemental reports etc).

 

That said, I really hope R* does their "friends and family (closed) beta" again with RDR2. They did one back in 2013 with GTA V, though it was online only... still, it was really cool to be a part of it!

Really depends on the game. In the case of RDR2, my educated guess would be that they're heavily focused on the final leg of doing QA for the online/multiplayer component at this point (RDR2/O). Would be willing to bet money that the single player campaign is nearly finished, or finished, and all their resources and studios are committed to the multiplayer aspect. That'd make the most sense, at least.

I know for a fact R* has quite a few ppl in their various studios QA depts (at R* NYC, SD, North, New England etc). You too can find this out with a fairly easy Google search by checking their job listings and even Glassdoor reviews

I guess them qa testers are sick of playing rdr2, imagine that, playing and testing for 2 years at least (the game was announced to be released by fall 2017 in october 2016, meaning qa phase was already initiated back then)

I have had it happen to me with games I've worked on, absolutely! One of the drawbacks of working in the games industry is you can lose a bit of the *magic* when you see things from behind the scenes.

Pfff, It is actually too crazy I think about this game every day. At work, at home, on the road  I really feel that this game is going to change the industry and we can experience that. I'll wait here....

A publicly playable Redemption demo was present at 2010's PAX East event. That's probably the only time Rockstar allowed the public to try one of their games before launch, and one can easily understand why. The game proved itself and now the successor will have no issue in making everybody in the industry talking about it.

My plan: I saddle my horse in the morning, ride into the city, park the horse in front of the GameStop, walk in with cowboy hat, boots and spurs, pick up my game, put it in the bag, jump into the saddle and ride home at full-speed. I take care of my horse, bring it to his paddock, put me with cowboy hat in front of the Playstation and then nobody bothers me the rest of the day! Unless he brings food and drink, which I may forget ^^

Yes.  I hope my theory is right that we have new artwork coming soon that will show up on these t-shirts later.  Would make sense why they didn't just show them yesterday.
