The difference is, I only want to buy it for one console and still can't decide. I'm still looking for the details of the deal with Sony. If it'll be just so that some content for online will be first on PS4, I will go with the X, but at the same time my best buddy will play on PS4.

I've been able to take 2 weeks off during 22 October-5 November, but I have a problem.

 

I tend to be very obsessive around story-heavy video-games. I even reached the point of only playing story games during summer, christmas and spring break.

 

I will be able to play RDR2 only during one week, since I have things to do after this "off" period. But I ask myself: Will it be smart to play history-mode during just one week? Or it will be better to play online until christmas?

 

That's the problem. I will have the map and the mechanics spoiled by the online mode, but if I play story mode during just one week I will not enjoy it at all. I could also wait until christmas, but I am going to get the whole game spoiled but youtube.

Oh you know it partner! Ridiculously excited for this sh*t. By the way, meant to answer you a week back or whatever you asked how my music is going , it's great in terms of where my skill has gotten and whatnot and the hard Rock show with my fans singing the words was the best.. but other than that just had some rough patches. My music equipment being stolen and my phone that had my album I was working on. Those are all gone but I finally am able to get my new MacBook this week and hopefully phone as well. I'm bouncing back after quite a few mental breakdowns and whatnot but still staying strong and excited to be able to post content again and keep furthering my career and craft. How are you doing? I see you still kept the hype through all these droughts and negativity! Proud of ya homie

@SuperKitsune and anyone else just to give you an idea (sorry for off topic but i have written lil raps in here a few times and y'all seemed to enjoy it. So while no one's talking about much I decided to share this lil thing i wrote 2 mins ago quick writing, maybe you'll relate)

Good thing you're not letting it affect your carreer though. Anxiety really can screw with your mind and body man.

 

Phew man..those last few weeks were pretty tough for me. Slowly recovering though. Can't complain. I still feel blessed in so many other ways.

 

And on a last note, I just can't put my finger on it, but rdr2 already has an impact on me while the game isn't out yet. This game is going to be very special.

^ we all got our sh*t for sure... No one gets through life unscathed. Pain creates character. And yes anxiety f*cks me up a lot mostly when I'm trying to talk or write and just perfect every little thing it's so annoying lol. And heart pounds a lot. But hell yeah RDR2 is in my heart and like I said, I'd really love to be recognized by rockstar one day as a fan and since they eventually like my art. I can definitely see it happening someday then I'll be sure to keep y'all in the loop with whatever I can lol and @SuperKitsune see the quote above feel free to quote it back to this page if you didn't see it with the lil rap and stuff ;p and  my sh*t was stolen by my ex girl.

Ahah thanks. I probably would call it that considering it was only a 2 minute quickwrite on the previous page. Like I said, I've been struggling lately with a bunch of brain fog from overthinking and whatnot so just testing it out I'm starting to learn that my brain was never the one that created these songs, it's my spirit. I will never know how I do these things and how music I hear it i just know the right words to say and the vibe to convey. It's just a natural thing for me so for real anxiety f*ck off lol always it's trying to get in my way and question everything I've ever done and be perfect.

Hell yeah I'm all in for the Xbone. I don't give a sh*t which console it looks better on. Both systems are f*cking grate in their own each way. In the end we're all going to have RDR2 in our hands once October rolls around the corner and we'll be parting like mad here  celebrating the grateness!

 

I have as much respect for the PS4 aswell seeing as back in the day i bought my own PS2 as it was my first console ever before getting an Xbox 360 around 2007. So for everyone on both consoles we should throw a celebration once we're finally in October

I'll honestly be surprised if RDR2 sells as much as GTA V.
Sure I'm not the CEO of Take-Two with all the internal reports available to him, but I don't think RDR has achieved the "the game everyone just buys" status like GTA has.
Also, GTA V released right before the (at the time) nextgen consoles were released and was released for nextgen consoles only one year after the nextgen consoles came out, so the popularity of GTA V was still fresh.
The next-gen consoles after PS4 and XB1 probably won't come out for at least two years after RDR2 comes out.

The early prediction from analysts was that it'd sell 15m copies but more recently it's expected to exceed that. It won't do GTA V numbers though and Take-Two know it, but that's not a slight at RDR2 that's just how big GTA is.

 

To put that 15m into perspective and going by reported figures (Activision and CoD don't disclose sales anymore), 15m assuming a 50/50 split (which won't happen, PS4 will likely be 65/35 or greater) then that would make RDR2 the second best selling Xbox One game and the fourth best selling PS4 game. Going by that chart and given the PS4's market share it could very well be the best selling PS4 game of all time once it's all said and done, and it'll probably achieve the same feat on Xbox One or at least come close to it. GTA V, however, sold 30m copies in a week across 360/PS3, which is why RDR2 aint topping GTA figures lol.

Interesting. I personally don't care how much it sells. Yeah it'll be a hit but GTA shouldn't even be a competition they've been around since the 90's. Anyway my real point is red dead is in a league of it's own and we know this. I just love westerns man, I'll take the West over modern any day tbh. Red Dead is special since not everyone see the appeal. I see so many people be all like "why you so hyped man RDR is boring af it's just a "horse simulator" lmaooo some people just I think are too small minded to appreciate red dead, but that's fine by me.

VGChartz is famously unreliable for sales data. The wiki page goes off officially released figures where as VGChartz does a lot of extrapolating. Wikipedia isn't the gold standard by any means, but VGChartz are a bit, uh, speculative.

The closer it gets, the more it seems to drag.  My July should go quickly since I have next week off and most of my weekends are busy with camping, parties, etc.

 

I’ll be surprised if we don’t get at least a mention of RDR in July.

Personally, I thought it was mostly garbage. Putting the word "new" in quotation marks to try and disparage the game? Why? Because it's a prequel/sequel? Does that mean hundreds and hundreds of games are all "new" cos they continue or expand upon existing stories/characters? Or is it just a dig at Rockstar for taking so long to make the game? I think it's the former. Whatever!

And when do we ever get gameplay 5-4 months before release? I guess it was "completely ridiculous" all those other times, too? Maybe, but this is how they have done it for years and years now and there is nothing new here to get our panties in a twist over.

 

Look I have grievances with Rockstar; the lack of SP support for GTA 5 still pisses me off. And all that DLC that is locked in Online makes sense for them, to make money, but it makes no sense for me, as an old school Single Player focused gamer, so that pisses me off, too. Then seeing what Projekt Red did with the Witcher 3 DLC... But mostly tho' the complete lack of communication from them with us really hurts more than anything. Closing down the Newswire's comment section, no matter how cancerous it was, felt like a real let-down to me. After being such a stern fanboy since 1999, watching them build so many walls between us is a disappointment and I truly hope there is an improvement in this overtime.

But, when it comes to the marketing everything has been pretty ordinary, IMO. And I praise them for making a companion piece to quite frankly their finest work. When it comes to the story this prequel is exactly what I hoped for.

Lot of pissing and whining. Listen, I get it. Rockstar don't have the most engaging marketing strategy. But they do a have a pedigree. People generally agree that their games have a habit of being really good (Mileage may vary of course). And considering that they have all of their studios working together on what looks to be(if previews are accurate) their most expansive and deep game to date, I'd say they may have had to spend little bit of extra time on development.

 

That being said, I do believe that they have spent too much time milking GTAO. Did that contribute to the delays of RDR2? No one knows for sure except Rockstar, and anyone insinuating that it did should message me because you apparently have insider knowledge that the rest of us don't have. I also believe that using the same marketing strategy as they did with GTAV have hurt them, at least in the short-term. RDR doesn't have the same mass appeal that GTA does. Of course WE are super excited, but the average consumer may not be sold on a western title, regardless of the fact that Rockstar is making it. They are going to wait for gameplay/reviews before being sold on it.

 

It won't sell as well as GTA did. It won't beat out GTA's first week sales records. But if the reviews are good and they don't do anything extremely stupid with Online, it will sell well enough that good word-of-mouth will spread and lead to steadily increasing sales. The digital preorder bonus ends July 31st, so I'd be willing to bet we see gameplay before then. Patience. I'm suffering along with you.

There's no double standard. Any publisher can release games to their own liking, every generation, every decade, every century, every whatever. This includes Rockstar Games, EA, Ubisoft, whatever.

I say this all the time, the relationship between Rockstar Games and their consumers is simply a professional one (They make product, we voluntarily buy product). Rockstar Games does not owe us anything and we do not owe them anything. They do not have a personal relation with their customers where it would be morally expected for them to put the needs of their customers above their interests. People who would put your needs above their interests have a personal relationship with you: these are usually your parents, family, or friends. Rockstar Games are not your bloody f*cking parents, they're not expected to think of your needs over their interests. There's no standard for what would be an acceptable amount of games released a year by Rockstar. One game a year? Two games a year? Five games a year? All of these are irrelevant, it does not apply to them, they relationship with you is strictly professional.

 

People are just pissed because they set the expectation that Rockstar owes them something.

Man, i'm going to have no time to play RDR2. It releases right when we usually have an influx of patients. I'll probably be trapped between one 24 hour shift and another 18 hour shift for the rest of it's release window, all the way upto January. So when you guys are playing RDR2, please play for me aswell.

After RDR2 and RDR Online are out for a while and the sales are starting to die down, I expect that Rockstar will start adding hamster-tube stunt races and all the GTA0 cars and weapons as DLC in RDR Online, so we can all go ape, on that new map.  Hamster tubes and sky tracks have to relation to reality anyway - Rockstar has completely abandoned reality - so this sort of DLC is equally valid in any HD Rockstar map.

They shouldn't expect to sell better, Red Dead is a new franchise compared to GTA and GTA 5 was a anomaly that i'm not sure will happen again for the next few years

I don't think their engine will be able to handle cars,the draw distance and LOD is tailored for slower speeds with the horse

That still works bro, it's a fun game to watch , that's how I got into it onlonly difference with this one is it's published by Ubi yes but the developer is a Polish one called techland, they made dying light which I thought was pretty sweet! And possibly the dead island games, can't remember. Favorite thing I've seen so far is a train robbery /bank heist just really gets the juices flowing for when the king of games drops RDR2 October 26th !!! Also tbh the plus of this game is that it's linear it's got a certain charm to it. This gunslinger game would be wack af with a tacked on open world lol it's good the way it is arcade style game, was pleasantly surprised
